I would venture the guess that he's correct for "Joe Average" the wrestling fan. Unpredictability is nice, but for something like Cyber Sunday, it probably just leaned too much in to the unpredictability. The balance is really hard to achieve though, like with CM Punk's debut in AEW, it was done well enough that even though everyone knew it was going to happen, the >0% of doubt created enough unpredictability that satiated most fans(nothing is ever 100%).

I think something like it could work, but I do not think it would work for the whole PPV.

      Something I never knew before.

HHH debuted his Motorhead theme randomly to end an episode of Raw in 2001.

I thought maybe it was a WWE Network edit, but I looked it up and it's true. Part of me always thought he debuted it during his 02 return.

This McMahon/Trish story obviously is messed up, but also has random funny moments.

Vince (not at the show, he's in XFL meetings): So Stephanie, how's the show going? How's the Rock? How's Undertaker? Kane? Trish...how's Essa Rios!?

So I hate WWE being on peacock and everything that stands for. That being said, I'm a fan of their "WWE Channel".

If you asked me when he debuted that theme, I 1,000% would have said it was for his return, not a random RAW. The more you know.

It's even weirder too because he debuted it to end Raw (I wonder what fans thought back then when they just hear some song they never heard suddenly playing), and the following week he instantly starts doing the entrance we all know him for. Timing, spotlight, waterspit, all of it. And Stephanie by his side for that all too during the McMahon Helmsley era with The Game theme just feels out of place.

Still hard to beat "My Time" playing at the end of Raw with JR screaming that Triple H was a son of bitch over and over.

                    Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread

Becky on BSS confirms the rumors about her and Charlotte's relationship and Charlotte "going into business for herself" during the title exchange.

Speaking of Becky on BSS, the more I've seen interviews from superstars past and present, the more certain things sound similar.

A big one for me is the amount of times I'll hear someone mention predicting crowd reactions and the whole mentality of things like "just because fans in Birmingham might react one way doesn't mean fans in Seattle will react that way".

And Becky talking about her turn vs Charlotte was something that some backstage thought would make her a heel because of her turning on Charlotte, but she knew it wouldn't, and even though fans reacted positively to it, sounded like some backstage still had the "just wait until you get to (certain other cities)", and they were proven wrong, as fans cheered Becky still.

So I wonder if that mentality which seems to be a very prominent one backstage is the best one. Yes, people do need to adapt on the fly to different crowds because you dont know how they'll react, but for the most part I feel like crowds are more similar than WWE thinks. If something is good, fans will react positively, if something sucks, they'll boo it or not care, and it doesn't matter if it's in Miami or Portland or Little Rock.

Watching the 2001 Rumble PPV. That PPV has one of the best posters ever. The network version is a bit funny though that they edited Benoit out, replaced him with Farooq, and Farooqs old spot on the poster was replaced by a CAW.

Sheesh. That whiplash his head/neck took from that bottom rope looked painful as hell. Makes me hurt for him, considering I’ve personally had a broken neck.

Something I never really thought of until seeing it on the Network when they were showing the biggest WM matches ever.

Rock vs Cena at WM28 "ONCE IN A LIFETIME" was 10 YEARS AGO!

                            Time sure flies.

This might be one of the crazier ad placements I've ever seen on WWETV.

During a HHH entrance (with Stephanie McMahon Helmsley) they started promoting Chynas new book "If they only knew". Given what went down right around this time (early 2001), this is such a funny ad placement. I know that's just the name of her autobiography, but you can't write this stuff.

Raven was so underutilized in WWE. Don't get me wrong, the hardcore title stuff was good, but he could've been bigger.

"Why did a pick a fight with the Big Show? Why did Jack climb the beanstalk? Why did David fight Goliath? I will prove I'm the greatest hardcore champ in history"

"Didn't Mr.McMahon force you into this match?"

                                "........yes"

                                *Raven walks away*

Al Snow and Mick Foley segment in Foleys basement was a funny one too.

Snow: Don't you miss the cheap pop?

Foley: What are you talking about? I can get all the cheap pops I want.

*Foley reaches down to his cooler and....
                                grabs a....remote*

Foley: Right here, in my basement!

*Foley presses a button for crowd cheering sound effects*

And another Mandela effect moment in wrestling. The first instance of fans chanting "you suck" during Angles theme was actually February 2001. The Edge feud in 2002 is what would popularize it and make it a regular thing, but the first time it was ever heard on TV was 2001. I guess making fun of George Brett in KC would do that to a crowd.
