It comes down to the individual. The whole "Everyone would do it if they could!" thing going around online bothers me, because I wouldn't.

I have no problem saying "**** it" and quitting a job if I'm burned out or don't like the direction the company is going, but I would still give notice ahead of time. In theory it's relatively easier in scripted entertainment like WWE, because they could write him out with a beat down on one night.

Just telling your boss that you're not coming in for the foreseeable future is something I'd never do, regardless of any security (financial or otherwise) that I'd have.

To be completely honest WWE hasn't missed a step with him gone. He's not as important to the product as some of his fans and him like to believe.
My whole attitude at this point is "**** CM Punk." It bothers me that there are fans out there that think he's some kind of hero because he walked off of his job. He's not a hero, he's guy who is pissed because it isn't going his way so he took his ball and went home. Let him stay there. I know I'm in the minority but if I never see Punk on WWE television again it wouldn't hurt my feelings.

            Re: Raw 03/03/14: #hijackraw begins.

I loved the Chicago crowd, thought they were electric, and didn't think they were trying to get themselves over like many of the other smark crowds (But I'm admittedly biased towards Chi-town). I have no problems with them crapping on Sheamus-Christian as we've seen it for the umpteenth time and it WAS boring. I couldn't wait for it to end either. While maybe not "fair" to the performers they are boring and stale and if the fans were to just boo then the brass would think the talent is over due to the heat. I loled at the reign of boos at every two count, haha. I also have no problem with the Punk chants as that's Chicago's guy. The only issue I had with the crowd is

            1. Chanting CM Punk during Bray's promo.

            2. Not chanting Yes! Yes! Yes! When Triple H denied Bryan a shot and No! No! No! when Bryan was saying these people want to see HHH vs. Daniel Bryan!

Which brings me to point #2, as good as the crowd was, WWE was better. They booked very smartly pairing the stuff that'd get booed with all the internet darlings. While Batista-Bryan was obvious, even pairing the guest host (who probably would have gotten booed by virtue of being a guest host) with Dolph (and making a bad *** entrance) was a stroke of genius! It's the subtle things tonight. Even the pacing was different as they kept the action moving and it dragged a lot less.

Also, taking credit for the hijack, manipulating the crowd with Bryan and Heyman, allowing the superstars to acknowledge the Punk chants, using the Bryan angle to take thinly veiled shots at Punk (I mean seriously, how good was Stephs promo!??), all of it was genius!

Then the coup de gras... That ending. Ballsy and brilliant. WWE knew they would be hated and vilified for acknowledging Punk, teasing his return and not having him show, so what do they do? Channel all that heat and put it squarely on Triple H. They just spent 20 minutes firing shots at Punk in that promo to Bryan, then he essentially lays out the actor playing the role of Punk on screen to a disheartened and hostile crowd. The boos and anger come reigning down and Chicago puts the authority over even more as monster heels. Brilliant! Heyman set it up from the beginning saying "they thought Punk wasn't good enough, they didn't want him to succeed here" and it came full circle at the end with the authority getting nuclear heat.

Chicago played chess with Vince and never stood a chance. He's a grandmaster at this.

WWE just let their big secret out this week that some of us have known for a long time. The WWE knows what the fans want, they are aware of the internet and the smarks. This is also why I love reading these boards. All the people whining about the WWE "having no idea what fans want" and complain about guys like Bryan and Ziggler getting "held back" or "buried" are also playing Chess with the grandmaster, only they don't know it. The smarks complain, Bryan is cheered louder, Ziggler is cheered louder and the authority are seen BOTH in kayfabe and IRL as as incompetent a-holes who hold back talent while the WWE profits.

Best Raw in a long time!

Yep. As smart as the internet likes to think it is. And as well as the internet likes to think it knows the business. Vince is smarter and knows it better.

Ehhh....I dunno, I think that's too broad a statement. Generally speaking Vince is smarter and knows it better but there have been times when he's made some really baffling decisions. Some of the things Vince has done were spurred on by outside forces rather than him being a visionary such as the steroids trial and having to kick out the obvious roid heads which then prompted the elevation of guys like Bret and HBK. The Attitude Era was more or less a response to the popularity of WCW but I do think we can call Vince a visionary in one aspect of the Attitude Era in the creation of the "Mr. McMahon" character.

Vince has let his ego and stubbornness get in the way at times but unlike his competition he's always been able to see the potential for money and has set aside differences at least for a while. Honestly, I think a lot of the problems right now isn't really at the feet of Vince but rather the blame should be put on HHH, Stephanie and some of the more hands on creative people in the back. It's clear that in the last year or so Vince has given the reigns over from the product perspective to Steph and Co. though he more than likely has final say on big decisions.

I did enjoy that whole bit at the end with Bryan, Batista and Orton. It just makes me wonder what's going to happen going forward. I'm glad the Uso's finally got the belts but for some strange reason I have this sinking feeling that they are going to lose them on Main Event. Also the trolling by Heyman at the start was great although I was secretly hoping Barrett would come out and deliver some bad news. I swear that character is perfect for him.

We should "hijack" Raw more often. They actually put on a show in response.

I also thought Christian and Sheamus was boring.

It was. I mean, it wasn't bad or anything; but we've seen this match. And the rematch. And the rematch of the rematch. And the rematch of the rematch of the rematch between these two.

I don't mind their matches but i'm not getting the booking at all. If they were two hotter stars then I could see something like a best out of 7 thing but even then that's too much. There has to be some kind of payoff to this right?

Probably the same payoff as the Sandow vs. Kofi matches.

It was far from a boring match but a strange choice for this show. Sounds stupid but maybe keep it a Smackdown-only feud so it doesn't get completely lost in the shuffle.
