Re: On this day in professional wrestling history...
What? DX formed in 2006. It was always just HBK and Triple H, with those cartoon logos. They fought Spirit Squad, and were involved in all sorts of family friendly fun. Lol.
One of my fave DX segments.Comment

Re: On this day in professional wrestling history...
I liked the DX segment making fun of the McMahons when they dressed up like them. And HHH/HBK making jokes about Steph getting pregnant and who the father is back in a time when kayfabe existed and HHH/Steph were "divorced".Comment

Re: On this day in professional wrestling history...
We were spoiled with Rock/HHH/SCSA/Mick/Taker. Writers did a good job of having them at the top and not always* involved in a title hunt.
*except HHH....

Re: On this day in professional wrestling history...
Very true. At least with HHH though they didn't keep him there until after Rock and Austin were gone. He didn't really get into the title picture until mid '99 after he left DX and finished up his feud with Rock to get that title shot at Summerslam. Once he won it, he spent from August of '99 until about June of '00 in the title picture. He got that shot at Summerslam '00 with Rock and Angle, but I don't think anybody considered him a real threat to win the title at that point as him being in that match was more about him and Angle's feud over Stephanie than the title. He stayed out of the title picture until he came back in '02, now granted that could be largely because of his injury in mid '01, as it looked like they were planting seeds for he and Austin's split when he lost his IC title to Kane.
Bottom line though, I think back then with the booking of those guys shows that what Vince is missing now is actual wrestling writers booking things as opposed to his legion of overpriced Hollywood writers who really don't get the business and how to write wrestling stories for the entire roster.
