Re: On this day in professional wrestling history...
I did too. Amazing.
On related note I'm watching Raw last night from July 5 1999. Dude in the crowd has a sign that says Jericho is WWF bound. It cracked me up to think some dude was cruising the dirt sheets from his AOL connection on a Compaq Presario somewhere.

Re: On this day in professional wrestling history...
Just a few days ago(August 15-16) but still posting it now.
Happy that Survivor Series is coming to Toronto this year, cause SS04 was the last big PPV to take place here(and the only PPV since, outside of Unforgiven in 2006), and that moment was extra special for me cause back then, the newspapers covered the event like crazy. The morning after SS, Orton was on the front page of the papers(not front page of sports section or anything, but front page of the entire newspapers) and they had a huge dozen page section in the papers devoted to Summerslam recap.Comment

Figured today was a good day to bump this thread.

Re: On this day in professional wrestling history...
15 years ago tomorrow, but posting it today cause I'll probably forget tomorrow.
As much as people hated the Invasion, it was actually the first era of WWE I watched, so I'll always like it. Sure, the Shawn Stasiaks and Palumbo/O'Haire's of the storyline weren't great, but it was ECWs "A Team" in that storyline, and we did get to see some big turns like Austin going over to the Alliance. Obviously would've been better had we had the top WCW guys in it, but I don't see it as bad as most others do. Probably like I said, cause of nostalgia, and not being a viewer during the Monday Night Wars, so watching the Invasion at the time, I had no idea what I was missing.Comment

I love this thread. I used to have a twitter where I did this. Got RTed by CM Punk and Paul Heyman and it blew up. It was amazing.

Re: On this day in professional wrestling history...
January 4 2010, One of the first real moments in a long line of things that people never thought they'd see in WWE.
WM26 for me was one of my fave WM buildups across the card. HBK-Taker, Cena-Batista, Jericho-Edge, McMahon-Bret. Sure, their match at WM was forgettable, but I still love the overall buildup for their match itself.
January 4 also the date of the "that'll put butts in the seats" Foley title win.Last edited by Majingir; 01-04-2017, 02:41 PM.Comment
