It feels like that Warrior/Hogan match was longer than 20 years ago. People could write books just on how bad Warrior's run in WCW was.

It’s arguably the worst match in the history of WCW.

Re: On this day in professional wrestling history...
13 years ago today on November 13th, 2005 we lost Eddie Guerrero and things have not been the same ever since. Taken away from us too soon and taken away just before we were going to be given a Wrestlemania match that if it happened, we still be talking about today. The plan was for a Eddie/HBK feud heading into Mania 22.

Re: On this day in professional wrestling history...
I was watching a Q&A today, and the question of most memorable heel turn came up, and my mind went straight to this. The best heel turns (to me) are the ones with a rising baby face star who the fans have just started to really embrace organically. Then it becomes personal with the fans.Comment

Re: On this day in professional wrestling history...
20 years ago this promo and match happened.
I discovered this promo a couple years ago and man it reminded me why I thought Stone Cold was the man growing up.

Re: On this day in professional wrestling history...
They had to beat Goldberg eventually, and that crowd went nuts when Nash got the 3, but the finger poke got "go away" heat. Like, the kind of heat that is directed at the promotion as a whole and not a heel wrestler type of heat.Comment

Re: On this day in professional wrestling history...
True. But what a waste to drop that heat/push on Hall and Nash who didn’t need it at all. Terrible decision, terrible timing, terrible follow up.

Re: On this day in professional wrestling history...
A day late but this moment can't be ignored in this thread. January 4th, 1999. Mankind vs The Rock for the WWE Championship. WCW tried to ruin this moment with Schavione saying the famous line "That'll Put Some Butts in Seats". Not only was this Mick Foley's moment, but the moment that ended the Monday Night Wars.
Stone Cold Steve Austin came out to the biggest pop in wrestling history and clocked The Rock with a Steel Chair to the dismay of Mr. McMahon and put Foley over the Rock as Earl Hebner counted to three. As for WCW, while they tried to make this sound like a bad thing, millions of viewers changed channels after Tony said his famous line to watch.
Nitro the other hand, aired the "Finger Poke of Doom" in the main event opposite of the WWE Championship Match.
