Making fun of Hogan and Savage because they were considered too old... 1996 Vince just never had the brilliance of 2022 Vince. The irony of how things are today is hilarious.

His feud with Ted Turner was such a weak one-sided attempt. Ted didn't give a damn about him lol. It was Vince playing the victim.

But 1995/1996 WCW pre-NWO was worthy of being mocked, even if WWF's product was pretty unpopular itself.

He wasn't feuding with Turner. Didnt you hear? Turner was in the "wrasslin business" while Vince is in the "sports entertainment" business.

But I think we should know by now that WWE will make fun of any one and any thing to make themselves look better, even if they themselves do the very thing they might have mocked others for in the past.

What a feud this would end up being. Hair vs hair, Edge getting the You Suck chants started at Angle.

              WrestleMania VIII

Bret Hart and Roddy Piper battled over the Intercontinental Championship.

Macho Man and Ric Flair met for the WWF Title after weeks of Ric Flair's claims of being with Elizabeth before she was with Randy.

Hulk Hogan and Sid Justice main evented with an overbooked ending.

Nothing worth noting about that one, except that heading into the match Hulk Hogan laid out an interesting...threat?

I would argue it wasn’t overbooked. It was just screwed up. If it had been done correctly it would have been fine.

Agreed, overbooked was the wrong word. It was a little more extra stuff than I like in a WM main event, but that's just a preference thing. I'm sure I was fine with it as a kid either way but man, watching it back yesterday and that mistimed ending really took away from the match.

The problem with WM8 is WWF had no clear path forward for the product and the talent involved, aside from maybe Bret being a potential focus. 1992 felt like the end of that era of wrestling, and they had no clue how to maneuver out of it.

Granted I'm sure people older than me would say WM6 was the end, and 7-8 they were just holding on. But it's hard for me to be negative about those years because as a kid that was my introduction to wrestling. Hogan was in his prime as far as I knew.

I think 92 was still good until the end. Warrior coming back would be ok if he had not gotten fired 7 months later in the middle of the main storyline. Bulldog on his way to top contender and he gets fired same time, right after huge Summerslam.

Kind of shenanigans screwed things up because even without Hogan they were doing pretty well and some new guys were being elevated to mix in with the Flair, Savage, Warriors if the olden days.

If the steroid trial never happened, and they kept all those guys, I think they would have been good. Change Hogan's character a bit, etc, and they'd have done better business in 94-95. Hell, WCW brought him in and didn't change him at all at first and he drew huge PPV buys. Losing Flair, Hogan, and Savage was insane in retrospect. Those guys were all huge stars and had plenty of gas (no pun intended) in the tank. Warrior was not worth the headache.

Time to take things to the Extreme.... April 8th, 1995 Eastern Championship Wrestling presented a show called 3 Way Dance. This was the night Raven & Tommy Dreamer faced off for the first time, Stevie Richards found the girl Dreamer & Raven met at Summer Camp when they were kids marking Beulah McGillicutty's ECW debut.

I loved Sid’s prematch promo from that Mania. I hated Hogan, so I laughed my *** off when Sid kicked out of the leg drop.
