    AEW Discussion Thread

Exactly this. The problem isn’t how people can watch it. It’s that now the Bucks/Cody/Khan now have to go to Sinclair and ROH to buy the footage back in order to use it again. And that’s a cost that they weren’t expecting when they started out this venture 4 months ago.

Maybe they will want to show clips from that show at some point, but AEW is a completely different animal than what All In was. That was a unique show with talent from ROH, Impact, NJPW, CMLL, AAA, PWG, MLW, NWA, and guys not signed with any of those promotions. We'll never see a DVD/BluRay release of that show.

They have a live feed going on right now at MGM Grand. Matt & Nick talked about having the best tag team wrestling and brought out Best Friends Chuck Taylor and Trent Baretta. Then the Lucha Brothers showed up and took out the Young Bucks. I'll update this post as they announce more things. All Elite Wrestling on Twitter announced a partnership with AAA.

Brandi Rhodes then came out to talk about the Women's Division. She announced two Japanese female stars and brought out Kylie Rae. Brandi then introduced Nyla Rose.

SCU came out and announced a after party that they will be hosting after Double or Nothing. Then they brought out Oriental Wrestling Entertainment presidents and proposed a three on three match for Double or Nothing.

Kenny Omega has officially signed with AEW and came out to close the show. Chris Jericho interrupted him and started to attack Omega but security broke them up. So we'll get Jericho vs Omega at Double or Nothing.

Nothing surprised me from this show. The only wrestler I cared about was Kylie Rae. Everyone else I have no interest in or can see them in 4 different feds already.

I can already see the writing on the wall...Kenny Omega outclasses literally everyone else in the company by quite a bit right now.

They need some singles talent and QUICK. No one wants to see Omega and Jericho several more times.

What’s with all these dudes having executive corporate titles? Hopefully they don’t mean anything real cause I don’t trust a bunch of wrestlers in their 30s to wrestle and have corporate positions with intent to grow into a legit WWE competitor.

That's exactly what it means. They will be wrestling, booking, and trying to grow the company in a legit WWE competitor. Also I have heard, don't know if it's true or not because I've only heard it from one person, that Cody is sitting in on talent contract negotiations.

                    I'm worried about Cody.

He's already talking about having a war with Vince and the dude barely has a roster, let alone established TV with a good audience.

I really hope they have a good TV deal, a deal that will allow A LOT of people to see the product, and they have more talent incoming.

Right now, I'm getting serious Hogan's TNA vibes where they declared they were here and then like 2 months later they went running away with their tail tucked between their legs. This is legitimately the biggest push I've seen to create a legitimate option to WWE, I don't want them to **** this up because they are too cocky.

                      Guys guys guys; so what?

If this does succeed then we finally have another wrestle war or if it fails we see these guys in NJPW or WWE. I feel like we win regardless 🤷🏾*♂️

There are tons of people who want to see that lol. And unlike WWE, they'd be facing each other on PPVs with long buildup, not on Raw every damn week.

They're gonna do like 3 PPVs this year, and no weekly TV until like mid/2020. So, "quick" is a stretch.

Omega vs PAC wouldn't be good? Omega vs Pentagon? Omega vs Janela? Etc, etc.

Omega spoke about the offer WWE made to him in an interview with F4WOnline.com:

“WWE’s offer was of course, fantastic. They went about it in a very professional and courteous way and those guys are nothing but professionals in the way they dealt with me, but at the end of the day AEW presented me with something that just couldn’t be beat.”

“You know I’m with my best friends in the business and I have a little bit of control over my own creative which is always important. I also feel like it is my true platform for me to sort of have my voice be heard and I always like challenges and I like the prospect of this being a blunderng failure.”

“Part of me was like, ‘Do I really want to shut my brain off and have people write stuff for me? Tell me what to do?’ It sounds kinda cool actually, you know what I mean?”

The idea of being totally taken care of in WWE after years of scratching and fighting to get on top can be extremely appealing. Also I’d say there won’t be a Wrestlemania that goes by that he’ll watch it and have at least a little regret.

AEW is the better fit but turning down a lucrative WWE contract has got to be a really tough decision.
