    Re: AEW Dynamite Thread

That acclaimed rap to start the show was fun.

"Hangman, you're a one trick pony. I'm like a breathalyzer, so you can just bl..."

"Hey, you can't say that on TNT!"

    Then Jericho
"We got beat by the pineapple.......I'm sorry, the pinnacle."

"I wasn't very smart. My high school chemistry teacher even asked me if I was on dope. I wasn't. I just wasn't that smart!"

Blood and Guts match will be fun. Sadly it won't be with a packed house, but at least there's a crowd for it. Whatever big ending they have planned....plan it out this time.

AEW is heading backwards in terms of viewership since March. With them only having 688,000 last night, that was down from last week that had 700,000. Considering the Dynamite after Revolution on March 10th saw 743,000 only for the ratings to jump on the 17th and be down hill since is interesting.

      March 17th: 768,000
      March 24th: 757,000
      March 31st: 700,000
      April 7th: 688,000

Yeah, considering the main event angle you would hope for more.

Let's see what happens next week when they're not going H2H with NXT anymore. I would be there's an increase but not as high as you'd think.

            Re: AEW Dynamite Thread

It'll increase for sure, but when you have NHL and NBA nearing the playoffs (aka the "important games" of the season) and MLB just starting, people will be tuning into those things more.

Although AEW the past few weeks hasn't had so many big matches worth tuning in for. I know the "wrestling purists" want straight up wrestling matches and that's it, but it wouldn't kill them to have some more gimmick matches. Notice how some of the most memorable matches in AEW history have been the gimmick ones, like Britt vs Rosa recently.

Even something as simple as submission match, last man standing, or maybe one day an iron man match. Those are things which would be more appealing than Trios Match #32.

Smarks will never accept the fact that in-ring workrate doesn't draw ratings. That was one of my gripes with AEW and why I stopped tuning in every week because every match felt like the same flippy **** over and over

My problems with AEW are similar, for me too many matches feel built around the same spots over and over, like I kind of enjoy Jurassic Express, but the formula is always the same.

Personally don't expect AEW ratings to change all that much for the foreseeable future.

My issue is still the PPVs. I’m never spending $60 again so I find it hard to allow myself to get fully invested knowing I won’t get to see the payoff.

Tyson joining a wrestling faction...... where have we seen that before?

Put her on NXT and she's the face of the division, right now her not being AEW Women's Champion is a crime. Bayley being left off Mania and Britt not being the Champion, our role models aren't getting the respect they deserve.

Bayley wasn't left off WM. She went toe to toe with 2 hall of famers........

Britt I think they're saving her win for their next PPV. Even though she's a heel, she's getting the biggest reaction for a title win.

Whenever I hear people in AEW giving interviews, they always talk about someone else's in ring ability, not realizing people care about more than just what moves someone can do.

Yes, Shida can wrestle circles around the division, but Britt is overall the more entertaining and watchable of the division. For me at least, big personality and above average in the ring is better than average personality and great in the ring.

Fenix wants mask vs hair match vs YB.

I'd love seeing that. I'd be more excited for those stakes over the actual titles.

YB shave their head and start looking like Callis and Gallows and Anderson.

                              Well, damn.

Not sure if it was the curiosity/interest created by having Tyson on the show or going unopposed, but AEW did over 1.2 million viewers on Wednesday.

It hasn’t been my cup of tea over the last year or so (pandemic hasn’t helped), TBH, but them cracking a million again is huge and hopefully they can maintain that number.

The industry needs another real, viable option and McMahon needs to be threatened/pushed instead of just worrying about the bottom line/pleasing shareholders.

Meant to post this in the off - topic thread, my bad.

I never saw WCW, so was the WCW Wargames match the same as what AEW is doing where you can only win by submission or surrender?

I know WWEs wargames match you can also win by pinfall.
