Re: AEW Dynamite Thread
Can Tony Kahn stop spending money to buy previously released music and just hire Jim Johnston (or a music production team), already?
Why they using this MMA guy as a proxy for Jim Cornette? That segment was beyond dumb...

AEW Dynamite Thread
That was….interesting. Glad I’m not the only one getting Cornette vibes. All that was missing was a mention of the Midnight Express.

Re: AEW Dynamite Thread
I like the new name. Tommy End is the non WWE name people would know him by, but Malachi Black sounds so much cooler.
But it makes Zelina going back to WWE even more confusing unless there was actually 0 interest in her elsewhere. WWE fires her, she gets publicly upset with WWE, they basically hold her husband hostage by not releasing him before finally letting him go randomly after finally deciding to bring him back on TV.One thing not missed, drunk (at least I hope he was drunk) fans jumping the barricade. Fans who do things like that deserve to be publicly shamed/outed and more than just banned from the venue. You never know when a fan might be crazy enough to do more than just try pushing someone off a ladder or tackling them. Sure, these idiots aren't of sound mind, but you have to set the precedence before something real horrible happens. A fine and a ban from the venue isn't the worst thing that could happen for some crazy person.
And that random cheap shot was so weird. Especially since there's not really any connection with Andrade and the Saudi shows, or not like he's been vocally or regularly defending WWE for doing things like that.Comment

Re: AEW Dynamite Thread
No offense, but this makes no sense.
This isn't the 1990's when leaving one company for another can really open up someone's personality, charisma or charm, IMO.
Plenty of people are exactly the same or nearly similar from WWE to AEW/the indies/any other company.
If you wasn't feeling Tommy End in WWE, then you'll likely find him uninteresting anywhere else, TBH.
And I like him and definitely find him interesting. I'm hoping he becomes an instant main eventer and doesn't languish in the mid card.

Re: AEW Dynamite Thread
I said that I didn't care, not that I disliked him. I had no opinion because I had zero interest in sitting through the WWE presentation enough to find out if I liked him. Saw a few of his entrances, which were always identical, and that's about it.No offense, but this makes no sense.

That segment was weird, but it served its purpose. They know fans would eat it up.Comment

Re: AEW Dynamite Thread
Not going to argue the debut but it does seem confusing when Zelina went back to WWE, I'd figure Black was someone Hunter would have tried to bring back to NXT. Anyway, does every debut have to involve Cody? It seems every person debuting outside of FTR has involved Cody in some form.
I'm starting to wonder if Braun Strowman is going to show up at the AEW Dynamite in Charlotte considering he's from North Carolina and all. I guess when Tony Khan said he has several surprises coming, the released talented debuting in AEW would be the surprises.
Edit: Just wanted to add, fans singing Judas when Jericho comes out was dearly missed. It was just starting to become a thing right before the pandemic hit.Last edited by UFCMPunk; 07-07-2021, 10:06 PM.Comment

Re: AEW Dynamite Thread
He literally had the best entrance since Undertaker, IMO, but somehow that wasn't interesting enough. OK [emoji1474][emoji38]
All entrances are identical.
AEW will likely free up his style of matches, but I'd assume a lot of the character work and presentation will be very, very similar.
Which isn't a bad thing, IMO.
Go watch any of his work in NXT or his matches against Buddy Murphy on the main roster. Or his indy work, but I'm a lot less familiar with that stuff.

Re: AEW Dynamite Thread
That is the scuttlebutt online. And is surprising cause I thought they were locking everyone into 5 - year deals upon being called up, but someone screwed up big time.
Hope it doesn't cost anyone their job.
Also, apparently the different "personas" (Aleister/Malakai Black(s) exist within the mind of Tommy End.
That's why he still has the "prosthetic eye" from the attack by Seth Rollins.
Damn, this guy puts a lot of thought into his character work, but the company that is "character based" dumped him. SMDH
Anyway, his level of thoughtfulness and creativity is what's missing from modern wrestling (Bray Wyatt in WWE being the exception). Reminds me of what Mick Foley did with his different personas in WWE, ECW & WCW.

Wasn't Carrano the guy in charge of handling contracts? Can't lose your job when you've already been fired.Comment

Re: AEW Dynamite Thread
That's kinda funny. Good for him being able to get back on TV while he's still fresh in people's minds.
This level of thoughtfulness really only works if you live the gimmick or if the backstage curtain was still closed, but nobody does and it's not. Not saying that's a good or bad thing, just is what it is.Also, apparently the different "personas" (Aleister/Malakai Black(s) exist within the mind of Tommy End.
