I'll add to this... as much as we love Peacock/WWE Network to be able to go back and watch the Attitude Era. At the same time, I'm glad we have gotten away from that and doing so many unnecessary spots. I was there at the arena tonight and it was fun to be there to watch it in person but I felt there was too many unnecessary spots that were done. I saw pictures of Matt Cordona after he beat Gage for the title and I'm like, was it really worth it?
This is like WWE doing Hell In A Cell when the story doesn't fit it, Jericho beating Gage then facing Juventud next? Gage should have been the final person he has to fight before MJF, at least then the whole deathmatch stipulation would work. People criticize WWE for their safe style but I'll take that over deathmatches anyday.
Now as far as Hangman, I thought they were going to have him pull a Cena and beat The Bucks & Kenny to get the title shot. Hangman was kicking out of several moves that should have ended the match if he was going to lose anyway. The show definitely felt rushed, sometimes it felt like moments weren't allowed to happen. With Hangman losing, there should have been something afterwards where he's in the ring by himself realizing his dreams of being champion are over, like it was with Kofi after the Chamber. I just don't know how you pass on the storyline between Hangman & Omega fighting for the title when it's right there in front of them.
If this was done because Punk or Bryan are being given a title match for All Out in their first show, it feels like Goldberg or Lesnar coming in and getting title matches over full time guys in WWE but I know fans will give AEW a pass because it's Punk or Bryan. All I'm saying, take the title off Kenny then let him face either of them while the title is defended by Hangman or someone else.
