So yes, we all knew Kenny Omega was coming back tonight but the over the top announcing by Justin Roberts, the commentary by Taz and JR killed his return. It was Michael Cole like where he would ruin those moments with his "OH MY"... "COULD IT BE?".... IT IS!" lines. Even before Omega came out, JR was saying how the crowd was going crazy for his return, Taz saying where he is.... "there he is."

Like this was one of those times, you tell the commentators to stay silent, have Justin Roberts do a simple announcement... "Now Introducing The Young Bucks partner for this match....." and have Taz/JR just simply say, who could it be, then lights go out and Kenny's music plays and let the moment happen with zero commentary, and the crowd going absolutley nuts.

Loved Kenny's return, loved the episode for the most part. Sure wish in 2022 we could get more than whatever the Thunder Rosa/Toni Storm segment was meant to be for the women. Sucks that two of the secondary storylines got shelved due to injuries, but it feels like we could stand to put more effort in on that front.

I agree with the commentary needing to STFU.
Justin Roberts however was perfect. I love the random Kenny facts, the pomp and circumstance, the NORTH CAROLINNAAAA! I was just telling my friends the other week that Kenny (plus Justin) is probably my favorite entrance in AEW.

Meltzer is reporting that Punk went off-script last night with that callout of Hangman.

Fightful reporting that there were thoughts that Punk was going to be a no-show last night and that in his program with Hangman he said "there is no way I'm losing to Hangman".
