I need a Mark Briscoe and R-Truth 60 minute ironman match where they're just talking the entire match.

Re: AEW Dynamite/Collision/Rampage Thread
As much as Ospreay talks about winning the aew world title while also being the international champion, if he wins the continental championship too, does he become the Intercontinental Champion?
Everybody loves the Acclaimed.... except Matthew & Nicholas Jackson. Brutal just cutting their segment like that but hey, that's wrestling. Sometimes your segment makes it on the air, sometimes it gets cut. Tough lesson taught by the AEW EVPs... but a necessary lesson.
I'm going to assume this will lead to some kind of power struggle between The Bucks & Omega/TK and a match for "control" of AEW?

Re: AEW Dynamite/Collision/Rampage Thread
Christian Cage is like the reverse Barney Stinson when it comes to fathers day.
Can't believe it's ONLY been 1 year of Collision. Feels like so much happened since, CM Punk era on Collision felt like ages ago.
Almost forgot I went to the 2nd ever Collision. What a fun time it was then with a Jericho-Sting promo, big 8 man tag match with CMFTR and Ricky Starks vs what would become the Bang Bang Gang (I think I still have the print out from the gunns about the "_ssboys" Chants they put on everyone's seat at ringside), Christian Cage going after Toronto.
Now we might have a Daddy Magic/Dalton team up?!
"Tony (Khan), I am your father now!"
What an awkward and funny ending to Collision. Christian reveals they took out Buddy, the HoB run to the back to find him, and then you just have the camera focused on Buddy knocked out for the final 20 seconds of the show while Tony Schiavone is excitedly promoting the upcoming week in AEW with the graphics playing over the shot of Buddy laid out.Last edited by Majingir; 06-16-2024, 08:58 PM.Comment

Re: AEW Dynamite/Collision/Rampage Thread
Toa Liona vs Tanga Loa would be such a tongue twister.
Briscoe cutting a promo
*Perry walks through the shot*
Briscoe: GET YOUR *** OUT OF HERE JACK PERRY!
Ospreay: While you had a hit row, I had a hit list and I beat the best of them.
It's Forbidden Door sign pointing season?
Okadas comedic timing is great.
Jericho: When someone tried to give me a piledriver I said THAT DOESNT WORK FOR ME BROTHER and didn't do it.Last edited by Majingir; 06-19-2024, 09:06 PM.Comment

Re: AEW Dynamite/Collision/Rampage Thread
Dynamite with an all time low rating and viewership number on Wednesday. .16 and about 500k. I look at the product and the biggest problem is pretty simple: you've had your top belt on guys who aren't viewed as top stars, even within the promotion. 6 months of that and here we are.
And you have too many belts, and too many dumb eliminator matches.Comment

I guess it was Booker T, Steiner and DDP's fault WCW went under too?
I do agree with too many 'Eliminator' matches and belts, but those matches have replaced all the multi-man matches from before.
Putting the world title on Will Ospreay alone won't save their sinking ratings. They are slowly heading into TNA/Impact territory, yet I been saying that for a while & Khan will continue to cater to just 'sickos.'

Trying to blame good talent like Joe and Swerve for Tony Khan's failings is hilarious.

Do I think the hate/criticism of Tony Khan has gone overboard? Of course. He deserves blame for sure, but the Bischoffs/Cornettes of the world are dumb af and out of touch. AEW's not heading towards TNA territory unless they somehow don't get these TV deals. Which, don't root too hard for that to happen lol.Comment

Re: AEW Dynamite/Collision/Rampage Thread
It's not about making excuses for Tony Khan, it's just facts. In what universe should Samoa Joe be a top guy in 2024? Besides, Khan decides who they put the belt on, so it's his responsibility. Swerve at least is still in his prime, although I don't think he's breaking through. MJF did somewhat. Ospreay probably won't.

Re: AEW Dynamite/Collision/Rampage Thread
There's lots of reasons for the poorer rating, but the show didn't feel special at all. Main event being Claudio vs Pac? It was a good match and they're two good wrestlers, but if the main event is supposed to be your biggest part of the show, and you have an overrun, and that spot is just given to that, then it says a lot about the show as a whole.Comment

See, stuff like this is why the IWC knows nothing about who should be pushed and who shouldn't.
And I like both Pac and Claudio, they are just more suited being in the upper mid-card while MJF, Will and Swerve should be headlining. What they really need is some engrossing storylines and someone that can really captivate more than just their audience. Or a big, bad heel that all the 'tweeners can actually work off of.

1000%.... BINGO. This is the problem, they haven't made any stars at all, and by stars I mean someone who can bring in more fans. You need talent who can do that, us hardcore fans are going to watch an Okada match or an Ospreay match because we know what they can do and it excites us to watch their matches.
From a booking perspective, any chance they had at building stars goes out the window because for some reason Tony likes to cool someone off for no reason. Wardlow is the perfect example of someone who should have been a homemade star by now but not capitalizing on how over he was during his feud with MJF was a killer for him. Also, random matches with no storyline attached... why are people going to care that 2 wrestlers are fighting if there isn't a reason behind it? Fans need a reason to be invested into these characters, Tony puts too much emphasis on the wrestling aspect and not enough on character building and storylines.
We are seeing the same thing play out in the 90's between WCW & WWF, WCW signed all the older talent Vince didn't want no more as he was ready to build new stars. Hogan, Savage, Hall, Nash, and others went to WCW while WWF built up new stars like HBK, Bret, The Rock, Austin, Kane, etc.
AEW signed all these people WWE didn't want or weren't willing to overpay. What has WWE done in response? Build new stars. Oh, they didn't get Mercedes? WWE has a ton of Women down in NXT to fill that spot. Sure, she'll be Sasha Banks again someday but they didn't need her. WWE lost out on Ospreay & Okada? Well here's Bron Breakker, Dragnuov, Carmelo Hayes, Trick Williams, all new stars ready to go.Comment

Re: AEW Dynamite/Collision/Rampage Thread
Ospreay: Daniel Garcia, you've been racking up win after win, and you've been doing it quicker than I last in the bedroom.....sorry babe, I'm trying my best.
An interesting moment though. MJF challenges Garcia to a match at All In.
Osperay comes in and one up's MJF and challenges Garcia for next week in a moment I don't think I've ever seen. He challenges Garcia to a title match. Not just the international title, but the AEW world title.
Has anyone ever officially issued a challenge to someone for a world title they don't even have (yet)? We've always seen people be like "when I win, you're first in line", but this was an actual challenge as if he's already champ.
Taz: So...why is your name Orange Cassidy? Why not purple, or something else? Why does it have to be orange?
Orange: I don't know, you'd have to ask my mom. It's my name. She named me that.Last edited by Majingir; 06-27-2024, 08:57 PM.Comment
