And the pre-show has 4 matches with 20 total wrestlers competing. A mess.

My biggest problem with this PPV is that NJPW has fallen off so much that it's not even a cool crossover event anymore. The show is trying to be some kind of a unique spectacle event, but these Japanese wrestlers do so many shows over here now that it doesn't feel special at all. Flash back to when NJPW sold out MSG, it's wild to think that things have changed this much.

Saraya vs Mariah should be a Dynamite match not a preshow one.

Most of these matches just feel like exhibition ones more than crossover storylines/feuds.

It's like watching an all star game where a few guys in the game are from other leagues around the world.

MJF trying to crowd surf right before his match and the crowd failing. Tony almost had a heart attack.

Caster taking advantage of being on PPV and not being censored.

AEW announces a huge mega show on January 5th called Wrestle Dynasty taking place at the Toyko Dome. It will feature talent from AEW, NJPW, ROH & Stardom!

Do any of these "dream matches" or whatever have any long term regular week to week story and character development implications or benefits?

For the most part, no. They are just Tony Khan/IWC wish fulfillment with no reach to a wider audience.

He just blew his second biggest (or biggest if it was at Wembley) match of the year at an annual crossover show that less and less people watch.

The match between Ospreay and Swerve was damn good, even with the 1,000 false finishes and screwy ending. Could've saved it for Wembley in August, but I guess they'll do Ospreay - MJF instead.

I'm actually kind of hyped for this. NJPW can't really put on a huge Toyko Dome show the way they did 5 years, but adding all this talent together in front of a Japanese crowd should be amazing.

                      Re: AEW Dynamite/Collision/Rampage Thread

Good show in general for what it was. Excited to see Britt vs Mone. Probably the most excited I've been for any women's match in AEW. For all the fake dream match hype they do, this really is one I didn't think would happen.

I found the ending of the world title match to be overdone. One kick out sure, but kicking out of 3 finishes in under 3 minutes?

Is there a chance we see a double turn come, even if it's temporary? Or could we see a swerve coming (no pun intended)?

That kind of finish usually feels like a heel way to win (Swerve was down and out for the 3 count but the ref was knocked out and he got back up eventually and won).

And Osperay could've cheated but he chose not do.

This sets up a rematch in London where obviously Osperay will be the face and Swerve will get booed, so does this ending just play into that? And regardless, does the ending lead to good guy Will winning the title, or does his big moment in London turn into a Don Callis assisted win?

That's what Forbidden Door this year should've been. Feels way more special in Japan than just a US show with Japanese wrestlers the average fan doesn't know.

Bryan Danielson vs Pac to open the show.

                        Bell rings

                        Fans: "HOLY ****! HOLY ****"

Britt reveals she's been out basically due to what was a mini stroke!?

Young Bucks schedule Mones Championship celebration and all the ring setup while Britt is still literally standing in the ring.

Who would've thought that the guy who calls himself a scumbag is actually a scumbag.

I know that there are plenty of people who have had enough of Chris Jericho, for a multitude of reasons, but to me his segments remind me of what made AEW great.

I REALLY dislike that AEW added a GM role. It's unnecessary and straight out of the formulaic WWE play book from the past 10-15 years. If you want an authority figure do something like what WWF did with Jack Tunney and Gorilla Monsoon, or what Tony Khan did the first few years. I'm nervous that when TK comes back he's gonna turn heel or something lol smh.

I was really hoping Hangman won the Owen Hart Tournament as I wanted to see Swerve vs Hangman at All In for the Championship. Does Danielson beat Swerve who then drops the title to Ospreay at WrestleDream?

So wrestling in 2024 is just wanting to unalive whoever you hate at the moment. That closing shot of Dynamite was amazing.... and the complete opposite of how I expected the turn to go.

This version of Hangman back with the Elite should be good. AEW seems to be picking things up ahead of All In, hope the rating show for it because right now fans should be tuning in.

Doing a crossface spot with a belt around a guys neck while in Alberta...probably not the best idea.

Big Bill just randomly coming out of that room a minute after Jericho and Joe start fighting backstage. I can just picture him watching it.

"Hey, they're fighting in a hallway that looks just like the one outside my room. Wait...is that outside my room?!"

Main event of Dynamite and the big matches for collision is a match involving....Tommy Billington? That's your big draw for collision?

But what an ending! Between Britt vs Mercedes and Toni vs Mariah, this might be the best PPV for the Women's division in AEW history.
