I wanna see the 24/7 title wind up in the womens division for a bit. Truth could still try going after the title, but in much different ways.

Would also give more of the womens roster a chance to show their personalities and have entertaining segments.

Carmella was at her best during her teaming with Truth.

WWE announces the new stable name.

        Retribution

Let's see if the stable goes anywhere. Or maybe...they're the Forgotten Sons under a new name but we ironically forgot about them so they seem like a new stable.

So the group responsible for the power outage is called retribution?

            Yes.

I hope we get answers on everything sooner than later.

People criticize fans all they want for jumping on things so quickly, the Funhouse being one of them (I hated from the start). But WWE has such a slow build to everything to the point where you just don't care by time something gets revealed (not talking about the funhouse in this case).

So the new stable and underground should be 2 things where we get some bigger answers quickly to keep people invested rather than writing it off too quickly and it becoming damaged goods where even if it ends up being good, you lose interest before it gets going.

That's the biggest detriment to compelling television. Not only are they barely/rarely willing to do anything compelling, but they hardly ever let it burn.

Some of the best angles and feuds in wrestling history often took a year + to unfold their plot points.

Can't do that anymore with how fickle and impatient people are. Can't do it in regular TV shows either.

Re: WWE RAW & Smackdown August Thread

If lots of stuff happened in between then it's fine if things go on for a while, but when you have the slowest of builds where it takes a month to go from point A to B, with very few things happening in that months span, it kills interest.

Its not just a today thing, it's been like that in the past. You need to have things happening each week where it's worth tuning in week to week or else you'll miss something in a feud.

Look at some of the most popular shows on TV. Its ones with compelling stories and things where people can discuss at length and speculate on each week because so much is happening.

I don’t think you need things to happen every week, just throw in some subtleties to keep you engaged. What they need to avoid is what they did where HHH turned on Rollins years ago and then they just put the feud on hold for a few months and did next to nothing to advance it

Dropping the ball on things is another reason it's hard staying invested. Excited for a story someones doing? Well in a few weeks they won't be on TV and/or the story is dropped, then they return and act like nothing happened.

But imo they do need things weekly to happen. Look at AE and RA, forget about the edginess of things that happened and all that, look at it from storytelling perspective. How many stories had notable moments happening week after week? Nowadays we can sum up multiple feuds at a PPV by simply showing what happened last week on Raw/SD.

Things should happen week after week to further a story, keep people invested, and wanting more.

Having generic match #16 of the month that goes on for 14 minutes, has nothing special happen and accomplishes nothing isn't good storytelling.

Well, I don't know how to react to the Retribution faction & angle. I hope whoever the members are they get a legitimate push & not treated like the Nexus.

Wrestling, in particular WWE (not in NXT), has been missing a good to great heel faction, so I am excited from that perspective.

They need a bigger dude in the group, because as it is (though I’m sure they’re going to switch people before the reveal) they’re just a bunch of tiny losers. Nobody’s gonna be intimidated by a group of tiny losers.

That's what I was thinking too, kinda like the Dark Order. Nobody is intimidated by the small guys but having Mr. Brodie Lee as the leader helps. I also wonder of this has to do with the Hacker. That person said people were wondering who "they" are, did the Hacker send his group of people as a warning?

I wouldn't mind adding the guy they removed as the big ninja to be part of this group. That guy is a legit big man, I think he's taller than Big Show.

That was a cool debut though.

Poor Alexa, "I don't care about Alexa Bliss." So much for being her monster in shining armor. Braun may just gave her the reason to help the Fiend.
