So only started watching again after a very long hiatus, is Jey the new merchandise sales for the kids champ? His gimmick feels like an unintentional reimagining of Eugene.

They gotta give JD a win to keep this feud interesting though

Well Eugene was a gimmick that was designed to have to you get behind him because the intention was he had special needs and you're supposed to feel for him. Jey Uso is just yelling YEET and waving his arms up and down.

I know, I'm joking that Jey's gimmick is a special needs character.

Either way... Kairi looked like a bad *** though still going through with the post match stuff.
She's tougher than she looks for being able to finish the bit.

I rewatched it, looks like it was just poor execution all the way around. It was obvious that the bit planned for Bianca to be "pulled" into Kairi's path but Bianca was already in perfect position to catch her as soon as Kairi went airborn and then almost got pulled out of position. Don't know if Kairi should've aimed more towards Alba or what, but yeah Kairi was looking rough afterwards

Edit: She posted this pic afterwards, glad it doesn't look as bad here:

That Liv Morgan pushing Rhea out of the ring with Rhea's foot getting caught on the ropes had to be a botch right? You can't choreograph that to happen 100% of the time. If it was truly a botch, I loved it was improvised with the beatdown on Rhea until Priest came out for the save. Rhea is booked like a megastar now and it shows. Its only a matter of time before she gets the Title back and possibly headline shows/PLEs. The main things I enjoyed on RAW were mainly all the major feuds that are still going on. Like the Drew/Punk feud that is still going on as it getting some very bad blood between the two. Pun intended. I didn't hate the triple threat matches to determine a new IC Title contender.

That women's tag team match though. What happened to Iyo Sky's eye? Omg. Sami Zayn is the next challenger for Gunther? I guess so. If there's a babyface the fans will get behind, it is Zayn. Main event match. Dang. The babyfaces win again. Sometimes I feel like this iteration of the Judgment Day looks weak at times. Other than that, good show. RAW is going to have to compete with MNF next week so they are going to have do a lot of stuff to keep viewers watching.

To be fair, Judgment Day just won that 8 man the week before against the LWO.

Tessitore sounded fine based on the limited amount I saw on YouTube. Wrestling commentary has become such as specific and patterned skill set, it really does just blend into the monotony every week. Unless you get someone like McAfee who throws the "rules" out the window and reacts like a human being.

Tessitore at least has different intonations and mannerisms than Cole. But the overall storytelling on commentary sucks per usual because that's just what they want/need I guess.

No, I'm almost certain it was planned and its impressive that it went so well.

If you watch closely just before Liv pushed her, Rhea positioned her leg in such a way to create the entanglement by having her upper leg on the outside of the middle rope and ankle on the inside of the bottom rope. It was wonderfully executed. (I could have the specifics reversed, but the odd positioning of her leg tells me that was the plan)

Kairi's eye was just a run of the mill botch catch, only difference is it happened directly in front of commentator table. If this happens on the other side of the ring (where these spots usually happen) then its something that doesn't even get noticed.

Agree on JD, especially Finn. They're booking Damion and Rhea too strong. The dynamic works with Dominik because it matches his character so well (epitome of a fake tough guy), but they need to take better care of Finn's character. Just pull Damion aside and say listen you can no sell Dom but you gotta sell Balor more

Dunne: Tell him (Sheamus) it was a message from an old friend.

Jackie: So I should tell him it's from Butch?

I don't have a problem with it, but one thing that felt "off" with his commentary is that he called it as he sees it and avoided the typical wrestling tropes (which is how it should be).

When McIntyre attacked Punk, he wasn't like "WHO WAS THAT? (I cant think of anyone who would do that)", he's instantly like "That's Drew McIntyre in a hoodie coming out from under the ring."

Would have been nice if that was a surprise.

But hey who needs cool things happening that the viewer and attendees don't know about ahead of time. Wrestling has never been awesome when stuff like that happens.

Don’t worry, I’m sure there’s still a surprise Natalya appearance.

That's unofficially confirmed she's showing up for that tag match.

I wonder if it is her last match (as a full timer). In Calgary with Bret being there too, would be fitting.

The only time that ever happens in wrestling now is PPV/PLEs. It would have been a cool moment out of nowhere tho.
