Would it, though? On paper you’d think so. John Cena’s final WrestleMania needs a special opponent. But that’s on paper. In real life? If his last few matches are any indication, Cena doesn’t have it anymore. Not a knock on him either, it happens to everyone who steps away. They get out of the cycle of killing their bodies and it’s not something you can easily slide back into.
He either needs an opponent who can add a spectacle to the moment or have a multi-man match where he can pop in for limited spots.Comment

They fooled so many people bad with that.
I got out of my seat when I heard his theme play!
They did that to open the show too.
They did the typical SD opening, then the lights went off, then rocks music hit, fans went crazy.....then they just showed the recap from last week and everyone booed.Comment

We got that AND Alexa/Roxanne in the ring together, that's a win all around.
For what was nothing more than a go home show before a stadium PLE, this wasn't so bad. Could've been better, but also not horrible.
From my seats I think I heard louder Chelsea chants than anyone else, even Trish.
WM18 nowadays seems so crazy. Cole mentioned WM18 Hogan vs Rock and fans booed it so much. The exact opposite of what the actual reaction was at the time. How people feel about both guys now (for very diff reasons) shouldn't take away from what a special match that was.
I still have no idea what kind of view it'll be for majority of fans Saturday night for an elimination chamber stadium show, guess we'll see the reactions after.
A cage combined with so many seats being a few hundred feet away from home plate (thanks to Statcast powered by AWS), I definitely think many will be watching this show on the big screens, but the atmosphere and being able to say "I was there" is probably worth it alone.

With EC done, what big stories have we yet to see become clear?
Rollins/Punk for instance is definitely happening, but that alone I don't see being the WM night 1 main event.
Reigns hasn't appeared since the rumble.
Do we see this become the triple threat which main events night 1 (and Punks favour gets called in where he tells Heyman that if it ever comes down to Punk and Roman, Heyman chooses Punk)?
After EC this could become real clear too. Punk wins the match and we possibly get Punk vs Cena post WM?Comment

As much as R-Truth jokes about the heel turn being AI generated, if I didn't see the show and someone showed me the pic from it, I'd think it was AI or Photoshop

Hot Start to RAW, Punk with a mini pipebomb and a brawl with Rollins. If that triple threat match with Roman happens, Roman is better off not signing the contract until Punk and Rollins are done killing one another. Easy win.Comment

One of these days I want a heel who doesn't finish their cheap heat line....as in, they don't need to.
Waller this week for instance, all he said was "Jey Uso is a lot like the city of Buffalo and Josh Allen" and right away fans started booing because they knew where he was going to go with it.
I want a heel to just stop right there. Be like "I haven't even said anything yet and you're already booing because you know it's true."
Next week's Raw will be THE show to set up WM.
Cena definitely appears for the first time as a heel.

I'm calling it, Chad Gable about to return as Mr.America.
Felt a bit of a let down. He's gone for weeks just to do a short 30 second video or something where the lead is that he meets a random irrelevant person.
AEW removed a certain someone from their roster page, I thought maybe he'd show up finally, but maybe WWE still can't use him so they had to pivot.
That LWO promo gave me Lucha Underground vibes.
Next week's Raw is definitely going to be 3 hours, as it should be, and that's what the 3 hours should be used for, big shows like that, 2.5 or so the rest.Last edited by Majingir; 03-03-2025, 09:52 PM.Comment

Such a great promo by Rhea after the match.... you can tell it's going to be a Triple Threat Match but honestly if Liv wasn't Tag Champion, I'd find a way to add her and make it a Fatal 4 Way Elimination Match.

Would be great if that promo was on TV but whatever.
Crazy episode. Rollins/Punk know how to sell the melee stuff that wrestling loves to do.
Crazy twist with Io winning. I figured it would be a triple threat.
Cathy Kelley needs glasses permanently.
Gunther was great as usual.
Lyra/Ivy was pretty decent.
