Good episode of Smackdown this week. Great opening promo from Cody Rhodes with Zayn and Owens. It would setup the events of the main event. I forgot how tiny Zelina Vega was until I saw her on the apron during the mixed tag team match. That Rey Misterio/Dominik promo was pretty good as it did seem to inch closer to the father vs son match up. Dominik has been great since he turned heel. I have forgot how boring he was as a babyface.

Liv Morgan was looking cheeky during that tag team match against Nox and Emma. Charlotte/Rhea promo was good but thats mostly because of their brawl. There's only so much they can keep saying to each other so a brawl was much needed to make you want to tune in to their future segments. We all saw the Sheamus/McIntrye match ending in a DQ. It was rumored to be a triple threat match for the IC Title for a while already. Amazing main event segment between Jey Uso and Zayn. This storyline has the fans so into it. Great arguments from both guys leading to Owens teaming up with Zayn to face the Usos together.

Nothing with Lashley and Wyatt this week. I will wait until next week to see if the reports about Wyatt leaving the company is true or not.

Looks like no WM battle royals this year.

Instead they'll throw people in a men's and women's fatal 4 way tag match.

Dumb. They should have Damage Control defend their titles in a 4 way while doing Bayley vs Trish one on one.

I've said it enough but man, this storyline has has been the best thing WWE has done in since at least the YES! movement.

I would've been fine with DC vs Becky/Lita AND Bayley vs Trish. Guess they wanted a big match instead, or maybe Trish can't go 15+ mins?

But the Showcase matches sound almost like pre-show matches.

Nothing with Lashley and Wyatt this week. I will wait until next week to see if the reports about Wyatt leaving the company is true or not.

Rumormill is that he is very sick, and still dealing with a finger injury from the Rumble.

The leaving company was more fan made than anything.

Somebody one day is gonna have to sit me down and explain it to me like a 1st grader in what is so special about Charlotte Flair. She is as boring as anyone on the roster and overrated on her in ring ability. I just will never understand the infatuation with her and why she’s supposed to be so damn important and treated like a huge deal outside of the obvious reason.

The 2nd generation thing is important to them, even though there have been plenty of down periods in the Ric Flar/WWE relationship. I honestly think they value it too much. This isn't 1986, when they were still worried people would come in and expose the business, so being in a wrestling family was seen as a big deal. Then again Hollywood does the same ****. Nepotism.

I can deal with her ring work but man her whole character is just brutal. Whether she’s a heel or baby face she just doesn’t sound genuine when she’s talking

The thing is that she goes from heel to face all the time when nobody buys her as a face, and she won't stay heel for long.

She needs to go full blown heel. Like Reigns, just being like "I'm the whole division, everyone is beneath me".

But also, she does need to work on promos. Her voice inflections and reactions need big time work and more of a natural feel.

On one hand this is a different enough idea that I'm a little intrigued by it. Rey stays against it until even his wife is like "dude, go kick his ***..."

On the other, I don't know how I feel about working angles at the HOF. I know it's just a celebration of scripted fighting, but I like the idea of it as its own standalone thing. We don't necessarily need to set up matches and then cut to Hillbilly Jim for his reaction to it.

But long term. She goes back and forth where she might be that heel, but still tires coming off as a face a few weeks later too.


I also wonder how she'd do in a team or stable. Not paired with a Dana Brooke or something random like that, but an actual tag partner or stable.
