Just posted the second PPV of my Universe, Smackdowns Payback. Each match is preceded by a brief backstory of the rivalry so even if you haven't read the rest of the Universe you'll have an idea of whats going on.

Ziggler defends his I.C title in a fatal-4-way. Can he overcome the insurmountable odds?

William Regal looks to do everyone a favor and shut up Bo Dallas.

Miz & Mizdow try to take the tag titles from the red hot Usos.

Rob Van Dam and Randy Orton go at it after a series of attacks by Orton. Can RVD get revenge against the viper?

And finally... The Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar defends the World Heavyweight Championship against Dean Ambrose in a hardcore match. Ambrose has had the odds stacked against him his entire life and he's overcome them all, but will Lesnar be too much for the Lunatic Fringe?

Just curious guys. For the guys who do the write ups now that we have actual storylines to use in the Universe mode this year do you guys use them and the rivalry editor? Cause I know last year I bounced back and forth between using and not using it. Just want to have an idea for when I start to write up mine what the best way is to go about it. Cause I do want to see cutscenes and story development on my screen as well if that makes sense.

I always hated the rivalry stuff in the past as it gave you so many specialty matches week after week and there was no change.


I haven't had time to explore the new storylines but will probably check them out at some point.


As far as writing up cut scenes, if they made sense I used them if not I didn't (like the constant tag team "breaking up" by doing a con-chair-to with one of the opponents on their partner but then somehow STILL being partners and allies with the partner they just attacked and still be rivals with the person they just teamed with to perform the move.

That's mostly why I stopped using the rivalry tool. I did write in my own scenes as most of us do I assume. But only if they make sense.

What I do is take things that the Universe makes happen and embellish it. Lets say Seth Rollins attacks Roman Reigns after a match with a steel chair, I may add to it by starting it with a promo and then the attack.

Also I used the rivalry manager for Reigns vs. Rollins, and since it would book the same match every week I would turn momentum to fast and pretend it was a brawl after a promo/match.

Another thing is working with the nonsense that still happens in Universe. On the first Raw of mine Matt Hardy beat Titus O'Neil in a match, and afterwards O'Neil shook Matts Hand, effectively turning Titus face. Two weeks later O'Neil attacks Matt Hardy before his match with Rusev, and Titus is a heel again. I decided to say that O'Neil cost Hardy the match because he was influenced by D-Von Dudley.

Week One of my crazy, random, yet pretty damn awesome Universe Mode is up!

Cesaro was drafted #1 overall to Raw, which has given him a load of cockiness. What will the Swiss Superman do to his opposition on Raw, given his new attitude?

Also, on SmackDown, Adrian Neville was selected to be the World Heavyweight Champion, but is he ready for the big stage?

Elimination Chamber has came up on me a week early, ugh didn't get in some stuff I wanted to in my Universe posting. Might move the PPV back a week since it hasn't been advertised a lot.

After much anticipation my Universe thread is finally up and ready to go. I have MOST of week 1 booked with storylines. Hope you all like the concept. Look for the first set of shows to start tomorrow night if I get home early enough and the first week to be done by the weekend with possible 2nd week.

Guys, this might be a daft question but how do you edit the matches in universe mode? ie. change the automatic ones that are created to a one of your choice with different participants etc?

When your in the match up screen press R1 if you're on PS4 and then you can either pick to change the participants or change the match type,

QUESTION: Say I start a Universe Mode now, then buy the NXT DLC whenever it comes out. Would I be able to upload the wrestlers in that DLC into an already existing Universe Mode or would I have to start it over to get them in?

You can add or remove any wrestler at anytime once you start your universe. No restart needed.
