    San Diego Padres (17-17)
    Chicago Cubs (15-19)

    Ron Burgundy's Game Notes
A great day for Adrian Gonzalez raises his average over .300. He is really smashing the ball right now.
Our fantastic duo of Shawn Hill and Kevin Correia continue to pitch like duel aces for our team even though they are our 3 and 4 starters.
Cla Meredith continues to hammer home that we made the right choice in making him the closer, he has been lights out the past two weeks.
The Cubs are really struggling this year. You figure with that potent offense they'd be playing solid baseball.
This win pulls us to .500 for this first time this season!
We are only three games out of first place now. Things are really looking up for the Dads!

      San Diego Padres (17-18)
      Chicago Cubs (16-19)

      Ron Burgundy's Game Notes
Jeff Niemann continues his roller coaster season. For every good start he's getting smacked around like he did in this one.
Geovanny Soto showed why many people think he will be a top tier catcher for years to come against us. He can hit.
Scott Hairston hit another home run, he's leading our team with seven so far.
Adrian Gonzalez continued to raise his average with another multi-hit game.
Rich Harden is really tough to hit. If only he wasn't hurt all the time.
This brings us back under .500. Hope we can get back even in the next game.

        San Diego Padres (17-19)
        Cincinnati Reds (20-16)

        Ron Burgundy's Game Notes
This was a great pitchers duel. Jake Peavy pitched great but Volquez was nearly unhittable today.
Edinson Volquez just mowed our team down one after another today, we couldn't get anything done against him.
I don't know why our manager used Meredith in this game, he has been getting plenty of work. It's not good to see him get smacked around in a non-save situation.
That was not a good feeling when Nix hit that homer off of Peavy in the 7th, I thought we were going to keep it even.
We need to get back in form and not let that .500 mark get too far away from us.

How about another great start from our starting pitcher. Chris Young looked fantastic out there. He's really been dialed in lately.
Cla Meredith did a good job of bouncing back from a rough outing yesterday to pick up his 11th save of the season.
We got some timely hitting. We didn't hit a bunch but we scored when we needed to.
Everth Cabrera stole 2 more bases today, that puts him in double digits. If only he could get on base more consistently.
Chase Headley got a start in left field today and performed well with two hits.
We get a chance to win the series tomorrow and pull back even.

            Ron Burgundy's Game Notes
That was a great day for Jody Gerut. He went 4 for 5 and scored 3 runs. He's becoming a very solid leadoff man for us.
Kevin Correia is vastly out performing what we thought we would get from him at the beginning of the year. Somehow his ERA just keeps going down.
Brian Giles has been our most consistent hitter this season, he just keeps his steady pace and is putting up solid numbers.
Every time Everth Cabrera gets on base his a threat to steal some bases.
This brings us back to .500. Hopefully we keep this up and move up more in the standings.
