yeah they do, it's all one big overarching story but I think you could start here tho and probably be good. The stuff in the other threads were the 2010- 2012 seasons and is mainly just there for historical purposes.

Shhhh! Don't even speak of such things.

Note: Lilbiggio, if you end the story, expect daily beggings for one more chapter in your PM box.

          That is all.

Thanks man, there's for sure going to be some big things coming as soon as this season ends.

The question is however, will things for our Atlanta Braves end in just 2 games? 3, 4 or just like in 2010 can this baby get to the full ride of 7 games? Unfortunately for us...

Carl "LeRoy" Crawford made himself known during game 3, and a winnable strategy of putting southpaws on the mound to slow down the Red Sox attack went right down the toilet.

And it's crazy when you really think about how small of a world it is. The one guy that we worked so hard to obtain 3 years ago and then lost due to Ted Turner's negligence has comeback and truly bit us in the *** each game of this series. It wasn't that long ago when Crawford rocked the Atlanta 5. and was terrorizing opposing teams on the basepaths and at the dish.

I guess we're simply getting a taste of our own medicine. It just so happens to be happening at the worst conceivable time ever. Geez louise..

Well for Mike Minor he did his best. He pitched well and was giving us an outside shot to steal the first game in Boston. With the lead and 2 outs in the inning he tried to get Carl to chase a slider away, but due to sheer determination Crawford muscled the pill over the rightfield wall, pulling what looked to be an unhittable pitch into the Boston crowd which at this point was now going absolutely bananas sensing a pending 3-0 series lead.

Re: The Ted Turner Memoirs Part 4: Rise Of The Powers That Be

              Game 4

Game Cuatro on the agenda now, and well... yeah, we win tonight, the season can keep on chugging along. We lose, and the Boston Red Sox not only win the World Series, they do it sweeping the defending champions.

Every ballgame this series has been decided by one run, whether by each team slugging with each other like a prize fight for the good 12 rounds, or with good pitching and one team out"bettering" the other team in the end. Either way these ballgames have been right down the middle.

              Enter Carlos Zambrano.

Given the ball, and the words of advice of treat this game like our last, Z held his own on the mound keeping the ball in the yard. It would also help a guy who has it in his DNA to give up fluky, unclutch 2 run jacks to the stars of the game to have a little run support, and boy oh boy, did the Braves ahem* pardon the pun... step up to the plate.

Josh Beckett really had nothing tonight, and the Braves jumped on him early. Scoring 2 in the first, 2 in the second, and oh just for fun, 2 more in the 8th and 9th to put this boy away. We out Red Sox'd the Red Sox tonight, by bunting with the speed guys, stealing bases on old man Beckett, and finally... finally getting the big hit.

On another note before we head into the 5th game.. Jason Heyward is still not hitting the ball at all. He's a zombie out there right now. A big bat wielding zombie with the capabilities of hitting a 3 run shot if the Weak-Contact thing ever ends is still a better alternative than the boys on the bench but not by much at this point...

Re: The Ted Turner Memoirs Part 4: Rise Of The Powers That Be

                Game 5

Ok boys and girls let's be real for a moment. There was a very good chance that the Braves could avoid a sweep if they just pulled it all together and had a breakthrough. That was what last night's game was meant to be. The proper sendoff for a team held together by rubberbands and duct tape while their best hitter slumped his *** off. And their star pitcher recovered from what could have been a season ending elbow injury if the team had not made the playoffs.

But this right here? Game 5? Boston's Ubaldo Jiminez on the mound? This is where the story is supposed to end. The Red Sox ace, at home, championship point #2, with a resume that goes for days over how he has made us look like fools both as a Rockies pitcher, and even now for the Bo-Sox.

This is the inevitable game that I was worried about, but couldn't worry about it because well we gotta take this thing one game at a time. Tonights strategy would be to wear him down the best we could, and the only way to do that was every batter in the lineup was ordered to:

Take two pitches even if they are right down the middle, before beginning your AB approach.
Damnit can this work? Can we work Jiminez like a government mule in game 5? Well let's see:

The answer is no... no we won't be able to do so. But in the end, it seems this didn't matter anyway. In essence this game came down to 2 plays:

                1. The slider that slid
                2. The Tag

                The Slider That Slid

Ubaldo was on cruise control as usual. Then, all of a sudden we caught a break. Runners on 2nd and 3rd, 1 out... McCann looking like he was going to strikeout no matter what, Jiminez throws a slider looking to get him fishing, but get this? The ball just kept running inside!

Next thing you know, Brian is jumping out the way, Napoli is frantically looking for the ball against the backstop, and Brooks Conrad is busting his *** down the thirdbase line looking to steal HOME!

                2-1 Atlanta.

                The Tag

So it's a little later in the game, and the Red Sox are starting to make their patented run. The crowd at Fenway is trying to rally behind them and **** man... things are starting to get sweaty. Kris Medlen hangs a pitch and Crawford belts it to deep center off the wall.

Ellsbury is rounding the bases like he broke out of jail. Around 2nd, Around 3rd. The ball is lazily flipped to Furcal from CF.

Furcal then absolutely fires a bonafide laser from outside of the dirt and into McCann's awaiting glove. McCann in the same motion swipes backwards at air, praying he gets a piece of nylon... and... and... SAM HILL HE GOT HIM!!!! The fastest player in the game thrown out at home to preserve the lead and end the inning. Medlen couldn't run off the field fast enough knowing his night was most certainly done.

After Nate McLouth his a 2 run homer off of Jiminez to send him out of the game and give us a slight chance to breathe, Tommy Hanson would enter the game

and bros lets be real for a tick: There would be no calling Craig Kimbrell for tonight because this was a must win game we know how that story ends right? Well anyway as for Hanson he went 2 good innings and closed the door on the Red Sox, and on Fenway park for the 2013 season as the final game or games will be decided in Atlanta.

Yeah it shook out to be quite the series. Had we not lost the second game this entire series would be totally different. It would have been split 1-1 going to Fenway. None of the pressure to play perfect baseball. Probably wouldn't have benched Heyward by game 5 thus screwing up long term "fiscal plans" and make resigning him in the offseason a highly "unrealistic" option.. I could go on and on... but the whole series changed as soon as the decision to go to Kenshin Kawakami was made.

                    Damn.

                    Game 6

So anyway jumping to the chase, it's been 6 days since the last update, and well fellas. I'm sad to report that the champagne, blunts, caviar, and capri sun's will not be in the Atlanta lockeroom this season. The Red Sox, in what was looking to be one of the worst postseason collapses in World Series history, found a way when there was no way and won the 2013 World Series.

Yes, Cleveland did the same thing in 2010, but remember that is Cleveland. That kinda **** is understandable for that city and giving up the final 4 games after being up 3 shouldn't have surprised anyone in Ohio..

Now, if you thought Game 2 was a bag of Walt-Disney fantasy, then this right here takes the absolute cake. Down to 2 outs in the 6th game ninth inning, Craig Kimbrell on the mound nursing a 1 run lead after giving up 1 earlier, and watching Johnny Venters piss away the 8th inning. Adrian Gonzales who had been pitched around all series took a fast ball to the RF wall and hit a clutch 2 out 2 run homer to give the Sox a narrow lead of 1 run going into the bottom frame.

Game 2: 5 runs in one inning for the win.
Game 6: 5 runs in two innings for the win.
It didn't matter that Jair Jurrjens pitched his *** off tonight. Didn't matter that Schafer hit 2 homeruns.

It didnt' matter that the Braves bullpen failed them at the worst possible moment. Twice.

It also didn't matter that Jason Heyward, League MVP Jason Heyward that is, got exactly 2 hits in the entire 6 game series. Absolutely disgusting from him don't you think? The fact that he was benched is only going to make the negotations at the lunchroom table come contract time, just that much harder to sell on him returning to Atlanta. His agent is going to have our *** on a platter for pulling that stunt.

All that mattered was that at the end of the day, 4 years of this... the Red Sox had 2 rings and the Braves had 2 rings.

Maybe guys... the Cardinals aren't the team we should be watching out for anymore. I'm just putting that out there.

                      The 2013 World Series

                      World Series MVP: Jason Kubel

                      footage courtesy of: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrY-gLw2eYA

It took 6 games after going up 3-0, but the Boston Red Sox were able to finally finish off the Atlanta Braves defeating the Braves 4 games to 2 to win the 2013 World Championship.

Atlanta is left scratchig their heads on the absence of their bullpen in 2 critical games. The dissapearance of Jason Heyward for two straight series, a lack of consistancy from the hot corner, and a rotation that showed signs of potential but for the longterm could be shot without Tommy Hanson anchoring the lead leg.

There were however great moments to cherish from this world series. The Tag, which will go down as one of the all time great defensive plays in World Series history right alongside the "catch". The emergence of Jordan Schafer this season and also in the World Series shows the Braves that they may have found a star going into 2014 and something to hang their hat towards during this time of dissapointment.

Re: The Ted Turner Memoirs Part 4: Rise Of The Powers That Be

                        Two days later...

                        1:35pm

...There had been a lot of commotion going on inside of the Cobb County Superior Court. Just moments before, District Attorney Roberts had nearly been thrown out after his questions to security guard Josh begin to hit below the belt....

And really, he was going to take the fall for Ted. How foolish of Josh, and cowardly of Ted... and yet, this was why he was sitting where he was in the court, and Ted Turner was where he was.

And yes you're right, ol' D.A. Roberts made sure to make him and everybody in the courtroom aware of this fact. He was covering for somebody, and it was going to cost him many of his blond days in exchange for his stubborness.

But... without witnesses, with sketchy motive, the dots were not connecting. Was it pure luck or thoughtful plan? Things were working out in the current owners favor. Roberts grilling wouldn't stick in a court of law. The law of the playground just might be enough to get out of a legal court of law with a dismissal. The Braves would still be Josh's... and by the theory of lineage... Ted Turner's.

However that wasn't what we were here about, and when the most damning evidence of them all came out, you could hear a pin drop. All the noise stopped. Hell, time stopped. Everybody, ESPN, CNN, Operation Sports, the President of the United States even stopped whatever the hell he was doing at that moment.

                        1:37pm

The Bailiff was startled as the door behind him opened. He turned quickly reaching instinctively towards his right hip for his gun. Then, after a moment of shock, his fingers trembled a bit.

Bailiff: wh-wh... what are you doing here?
Gasps and excited talking began to collectively ring along the corridor walls. All the while judge Ford continued to bang his gavel.

Judge Ford: ORDER!! ORDER!! ORDER IN THE COURTROOM
As the gallery and jury members talking began to fade off, the judge took a sip of water from his glass, and then spoke again.

Judge Ford: What brings you to these proceedings sir.
The man looked at the bailiff still trembling a bit, after nodding at him, and watching the bailiff's hand slowly retreat from his holster, he began to walk down the aisle towards the front. Walking with purpose, the uninvited guest stopped just between the two attorneys and spoke towards the judge's bench while still holding an intense stare towards a shocked Ted Turner.

Man: Judge Ford..., people of Atlanta.... My Name is Holman Keezel. And with all due respect. I think you know damn well why I am here.

Tough loss, bro. I'm honestly a little bummed, and ticked with Mr. MVP.

Yeah, true about J-Hey... I'm not too sure how that's going to play out just yet. He put up great regular season numbers but honestly this is now 2 consecutive playoffs he went ice cold. Makes you doubt whether we should go forward with him or if it might be time to go in a new direction.
