I'm starting to smell a World Series repeat.

You know it's starting to look that way, except for one little thing. The New York Yankees may not get out of Boston alive. Game 6 of the ALCS would go to the Red Sox as they took it convincingly 9-3 behind the strong start of Josh Beckett and a 2 run jack down the right field line by Jose F'n Iglesias. I'm just going to make the executive decision to refer to him with the F'n from here on out because this guy is doing some unbelievable stuff this season to not have a face.



Like we've always done, we're not going to pitty pat around with things drawing things out for no good reason. Rather than go over the particulars of who hit two doubles, or who pissed me off the most... as you see the Braves won. As you also can see, Tommy Hanson now fitted with the Allen Iverson pioneered Armsleeve protected the elbow and pitched 2 innings of extra inning relief. As you can also see there were 9 errors.

This game was pretty lame no lie bros. Let's see? Jump out the gates to a 5-0 lead with things looking like game 1 all over again. Me questioning if the dfficulty should go up WHEN we go to the world series.

Oh screw me... never get ahead of yourself when on the sticks, its harmful to your focus.

Because all of a sudden the Cardinals started chipping away, and the errors started piling up. At one point we had an unearned run each inning.

Also demoralizingly, Pujols picked tonight to be a Hall of Famer. If we didn't walk him, he hit a homerun. He also reached on a error. It was as close to what the Cardinals needed from him... the only reason they lost had to be because the Braves had the last at bat. A fact that we'd lose that advantage had this series gone another minute.



Sometimes you win nice, sometimes you win memorably, sometimes it's ugly... but at the end of the day a win is a win.. and the Braves are going back to the Fall Classic. Now just to figure out who's going to be facing them. The Yankees or the Red Sox... let's just scroll this badboy down shall we?

He drove with one hand on the wheel, another fumbling through the center console struggling to get a handle on a tall boy of Monster. Now why he didn't just look down and pick it up which common sense would ask, centered on the fact that it is hard to do two things at once when you are driving over 100mph on I-20.

He decided to look down to pick it up, and as his eyes darted down, he looked to his right and noticed a slight stir from the friend who had joined him on this long journey back to Georgia from Texas.

He chuckled a little more before turning his attention back to the traffic and road in front of him. Of course he hadn't heard too much since they left Texas earlier today. Was that really a surprise? The man was bound up for crying out loud. Tied at the hands, a dirty red rag between his teeth, and bruises from being pistol whipped repeatedly adorned the right side of his face. Had he not had a filthy rag in his mouth for the past 6 hours, Frank Wren probably still wouldn't have said much because his head freaking hurt too much to talk anyway.


Meanwhile back in Atlanta...

Ted Turner saw the latest edition of Sports Illustrated and smiled a cheekish grin. The storylines were already starting. It took his mind away from the ongoing trial that seemed to be distracting him from the team. In year's past, Ted would be right there in the lockeroom drinking Cristal, and smoking huge blunts like everybody else.. but this year was different.

The Red Sox had the best record in baseball and were pushed to the limit by their arch rivals the Yankees. Now the only thing left for them to accomplish is to take their 4 Ace pitching staff and All Star lineup into Atlanta and finish the job.

Tommy Hanson has been out for the past 2 months. He had the entire NLCS to try to get into game shape inclduing throwing 30 pitches in a series clinching game 5. The Braves are concerned he is rushing to the mound at a time when the Braves pitching staff look to finally have everything figured out after a season of turmoil.

Carl Crawford joined the Braves for the stretch run and helped the team secure a title in 2010. However a big pay day landed him at Fenway. Now thinking back just a bit, Atlanta fans were extremely loyal to their own even if they were only here for a short period.

Remember, Derrek Lee was cheered as an Oriole back in 2011, but that was the regular season and this is the World Series. Unfortunately Crawford is on the villainous Red Stockings and could get a couple of boo birds down in Atlanta.

Thanks to a ridiculous rule by Bud Selig allowing the All Star winner to host the world series, we will get to see very soon how classy the fans of Atlanta truly are. The 104 win Red Sox will be the visiting team for Game 1.

That last part hurts a bit. Usually HFA is a great, great thing to have. But could you imagine our lineup at Fenway park? Heyward? McCann? Freeman? Schafer? And Good-Conrad? We would have feasted in that fischer price stadium over 4 games. But now it'll only be 3. HFA kinda worked against us on this one.

Thanks, that's why I broke it up because I figured one day I'd wanted to be able to see the season by season progressions without having to dig through 50-70 pages of posts. Makes it easier on you and me, and is precisely why we must get this season under wraps soon.

15 pages has led us to this moment. The 2013 World Series.



Atlanta Fulton County Stadium got the honor to host a couple and Ted Turner's Field has certainly been no stranger to showcasing the Fall Classic a few times in it's heyday. The 2013 edition looks to answer the biggest question that many have been wondering?

Was 2013 a season of bad breaks, or are the Atlanta Braves truly flawed?



You're probably wondering right now. Waitaminute?! Who's wondering that question? Well trust me boys and girls, the answer to that is plenty of people. Don't ask me to dig up the blogs and tweets and Skip Bayless quotes because we don't have time for that friends!

There would be no greater test in the history of this team's character in the Ted Turner 2nd era than this particular series. We have usually been good enough talent wise to make up for our shortcomings... but here? Standing in front of us lies a team with a bat to match every bat in our lineup WITH Torii Hunter coming off the bench like a 6th man in basketball.

They have speed out of 5 guys... power strokes out of four, and pesky guys like Pedroia and Jose F'n Iglesias who could explode for Hall of Fame games out of nowhere. Remember friends, the 8th hole is MLB the Show's way of saying "This guy is really, really good at playing baseball".

And then, you look at the pitching staff Ubaldo Jiminez, Jon Lester, Clayton Kershaw, oh and the veteran Josh Beckett. This team was built specifically to destroy us. They were built to suceed where the Yankees failed last year in the World Series and that is in the art of not relying on two arms and a fluke HR to win a ring...



After just two games.. uh oh you simply won't believe how this happened. THIS can not be life for the Braves Nation:

Game 1

In spite of Ubaldo coming out the gates throwing liquid Nitro from the right side with 101 MPH heat. The Braves struck first thanks to Schafer and McLouth doing what they do and hitting two doubles where the defense wasn't.


However the lead would be short lived... like really short lived to the tune of less than the time it'd take to make a sandwhich and get comfortable over having the lead in the first place. Horrible timing really when you think about it.

The Red Sox offense powered through the middle frames and held a 5-1 lead for most of the game. It sucked really watching Ubaldo do what he has done so many times against us and dominate with truly brilliant work on the mound.

And remenincent of last year, we'd close in and make things interesting, but once again we were left at the alter with our pants down and our nuts kicked, as with 1 run to go, the following batters came up to the plate:

Game 2

Ok, Game two's we've done pretty good in historically. Nobody likes getting their *** kicked right out the chute. We were going to allow Tommy Hanson a chance to start Game 3 at Fenway just incase the ballpark became a factor and we needed an equalizer, but after that first game... a 80% healthy Hanson was our best option to guarantee a split.



Uggla also played a role in this pay back game. As usual a lefty on the mound? Uggla went yard, and just like that we were the team carrying the large lead throughout the majority of the game. It really is comical how teams simply refuse to pitch to Heyward night in and night out and then in the same breath, will go ahead and hang curve balls from the left side to Uggla. Truly on the level of Def Jam Eddie Murphy era really.

Anyway when Kelly Shoppach came in and hit a 3 run homer to give us a 7-3 lead going into the ninth inning, a quick phone call to the bullpen sat craig Kimbrell and instead got Kenshin Kawkami ready for a ninth inning mopup.


And then.... the ninth inning happened.

And by the way, let this be a lesson to us all, that the World Series is not the time for mopping up games. It was a bad decision and after 4 straight hits given up to the Red Sox, it looked to be a really bad decision. I simply thought Kawakami was good enough to hold a 4 run lead. But clearly he is not anymore.





And that my friends, is how the Braves found themselves down in a 0-2 hole going up to hostile Fenway Park where the runs are going to rain down upon both teams.

Fenway Park Gameplan

The gameplan is simple, we are going Mike Minor in game 3. We have to get a stop in that game or the series is ovah! The reasoning behind Minor is by pitching from the left side we will neutralize 5 of the Red Sox best hitters including their best player as of right now Jason Kubel. This will probably be a O'Flaherty, John Boy, and Jonny Venters game from the pen.

I don't want to see a righty enter the game. I don't want to see Craig Kimbrell near a baseball until game 5 at the earliest. And Kawakami?

It may be over for him. You don't come back from these type of things. They are career ending kind of situations unfortunately.

Start with part 1, the story builds up to where it currently is now. Plus the baseball is pretty entertaining too. Then find part 2, 3, and finally part 4.
