With Opening Day upon us, the Toronto Blue Jays look to show the baseball world that they were not wrong in projecting this team as a playoff/World Series contender.
New to the team are Starters Josh Johnson, RA Dickey and Mark Buerhle, Reliever Esmil Rogers, Catcher Josh Thole, Infielders Maicer Izturis, Emilio Bonicfacio, Mark DeRosa, Jose Reyes and Andy Laroche as well as Outfielders Melky Cabrera and Casper Wells.
Questions surround this new Blue Jays team such as can Brandon Morrow finally take the next step towards becoming an ace, is Jose Bautista over his wrist injury and can Casey Janssen be successful for an entire season as the Closer. Can Sergio (Surgery) Santos get out of the first month healthy, and how many games will Brett Lawrie play?
A lot of optimism surrounds the Blue Jays and the City of Toronto as Opening Day begins a 3 game series against the Cleveland Indians, another young team that re-tooled heavily during the offseason. Toronto Mayor Rob Ford nearly pushed over 3 cameramen just trying to get into the Stadium for tonight's game!
Sit back and enjoy.............it should be a fun season!
