But in all seriousness, that's sad that ball players don't take time out of their lives to sign for kids. It's gotten better over the years but I don't think they really understand what it's like for a kid to have their hero sign something for them. It means the world.

Yeah, a lot of the players used to be real jerks about signing autographs and that kind of stuff but nowadays there are a ton of cool guys out there that understand what it's like to be in that kind of position and now that they'd want a big league guy to sign for them. I also think it helps that the guys are more humble than back in the early 2000s where virtually everyone thought they were hot ****.

When I was younger, Carlos Beltran was coming up with the Royals and he was my favorite player. I met him on several different occasions and he was always a really nice guy, he would carry on a conversation with me and ask me how I was doing and it really meant the world to me. When the Royals traded him, I was crushed and I don't think I went to any games the rest of that season or the next.

When Carlos got sent to the All Star game in 2004 when it was at Minute Maid park he sent me a hat commemorating the event and when he was with the Mets, he sent me a copy of their magazine with him on the cover of it.

I thought it was awesome that a star player would take time out of his busy schedule to stay in contact with the little kid from Kansas City... At the 2012 All Star Game, I wrote a letter to him thanking him for everything that he did for me and how he was an inspiration to me.

Even though he still plays for the Cardinals, Carlos is still my favorite player in all of baseball.

That's pretty cool, my dad really enjoyed Beltran as a Met (one of the biggest Met fans you'll ever meet) and he still liikes him to this day as well.

Not to bring this dynasty off-topic, but my dad's friend had been involved in the broadcasting for the Mets, Yankees, MSG, etc. and they went to every single Met home game when they were in their early 20s. They said Tom Seaver was a real jerk, not even asking for autographs but they used to be allowed to go into the clubhouse and VIP places after the games, and my dad everytime he's asked about him said he was a real jerk and pretty arrogant on several occasions.

    Dude could really pitch though

I've been thinking a lot about this lately and I'm thinking about starting it up again. Just a heads up.

I've heard that sound 3 times... once was Babe Ruth, the second was Josh Gibson, and the third was Bo Jackson- Buck O'Neil

Following. As a Mets fan, it must be tough to play with these guys lol. At least you have Harvey and Wheeler to look forward to. TdA is also a promising player.
