        Astros Prevail in 10 Innings

Another Yankees and Astros game, another extra-innings affair. The two teams headed into the top of the 10th inning for the second game in a row, setting up the stage for a game-winner somewhere down the line. Jeremiah Stone provided that game-winner, driving in the winning run on a single up the middle, helping the Astros pull even in the series. The Astros loss their previous game in a marathon extra-inning affair, with Mark Teixeira hitting a blast in the 15th inning to give the Yankees the win.

However, while Jeremiah Stone was celebrating on the field, his brother Josh Stone was in a hospital room, getting an x-ray. The results were not too good, showing a broken arm that he suffered after getting hit by a pitch from Yankees starter Masahiro Tanaka. The Astros have announced that Stone is expected to miss the next 1-2 months. Utility man Ian Valdez is expected to take over the shortstop position, and Jonathan Villar has been recalled from Triple-A.

@IValdy3- Huge win, but it sucks to lose a player like Josh. Get better soon, buddy. I'll make sure to do you proud in your absence!

              least we won this one!

Yankees Take Series, Astros Lose Close One

After playing 25 innings in the first two games of the regular season, both the bats of the Houston Astros and New York Yankees both looked tired, resulting in a very low scoring game at Minute Maid Park in Houston. With the game tied at one run a piece, the Houston Astros turned to lefty reliever Lance Walker out of the bullpen to face the left-handed hitting Jacoby Ellsbury, providing a favourable matchup for the Astros. The plan backfired quickly, as Ellsbury went deep off a hanging curveball to give the Yankees the victory in a closely fought series.

The Astros will stay at Minute Maid Park and take on the Los Angeles Angeles in a four game set.

I was considering providing some more stats, but making a box score for every single game for multiple season is too hard. I'll see what I can do tho. If you guys have any ideas, the feedback would be appreciated!

I'd be fine seeing updates on stats every month or so, that'd be good with me. Is your plan to play every game or to sim some?

There will definitely be monthly updates including player stats, league leaders, standings, etc. I plan on playing using the play 1 sim 5 system so that I get to start with all of the pitchers and finish each season fairly quickly.

Astros' Offence Explodes in Win Over Angels

                                Houston, TX --
In their first game against a division rival in 2014, the Houston Astros made a loud statement that they were ready to compete this year, downing the Angels by a whopping score of 8-1. Mike Trout provided the Angels with their only run of the game, hitting a solo shot off of Astros starter Julio Velasquez, who was making his MLB Debut. The Astros bats backed up their rookie starter, with first baseman Ocho Ocho and catcher Josiah Cohen all going deep for homeruns. Aaron Bruand contributed nicely to the offence out of the DH role, picking up two RBIs in the win. The Astros were not only a threat at the plate, but also on the basepaths, pitcking up four stolen bases courtesy of Dexter Fowler, Ocho Ocho, Tyler Jacobs and Ian Valdez. Starter Julio Velasquez mowed down the Angels lineup all night, giving up only the solo home run to Trout. Velasquez finished the game with a complete game 2-hitter, striking out 13 batters in the process.
