    Good luck house hunting.
You know I feel bad for not helping out the O's but the problem was at the time of the trading they were really on the bubble and the only thing they really need super help in is a true #1 and the only way to do that would've been to trade them Price, which I couldn't do because Tampa Bay was still in the W.C. race. However now that we are this far in, I wish I would've gotten them

I am not going to lie, there is a huge part of me that hopes the Indians can win it. Baltimore's Offense is scary..

    C. Davis-.262 40 HR 95 RBI
    A. Jones-.257 33 HR 83 RBI
    JJ Hardy-.299 29 HR 81 RBI
    M. Wieters-.246 27 HR 79 RBI
    N. Cruz-.234 20 HR 66 RBI
    M. Machado-.269 19 HR 64 RBI
    N. Markakis-.263 15 HR 52 RBI
    D. Young-.276 9 HR 43 RBI
    M. Schoop-.234 10 HR 40 RBI

I promise if the O's make a run next season, they will be on the top of my list to make some deals for.

It's funny I didn't make any deals for Cincinnati or Washington and both made the playoffs.

Of all the teams I did make deals for I would say Colorado came out the biggest winner. Gee and Parnell have been lights out for them. Parnell ended up with 56 saves and a 2.62 ERA and at the time of the deal he had like 30 with a ERA over 4.00

M'S ANNOUNCE CHANGES TO THE PLAYOFF ROSTER

With season ending injuries to Catcher G. Laird and OF S. Van Slyke, the M's had 2 roster spots open for the playoffs.

Taking Van Slyke's spot on the bench will be the IF N. Franklin. Franklin won the spot with his play in September. In the past 10 games Franklin has hit .361 with 1 HR and 6 RBI, and on the season in 111 AB's he is hitting .279 with 4 HR and 16 RBI. He is batting .274 vs RHP and .296 vs LHP, making his Switch hitting ability likely to get him some PT come the post season.

Caring a backup catcher for the playoff is important, especially when your starter is hitting .222 with 6 HR and 30 RBI. John Buck started the year as the backup but was released in June with Jesus Sucre taking over. Problem is Sucre hit even worse then Buck batting .154 with 2 RBI's in 26 AB's which led to Laird being acquired at the deadline. However when Laird went down mid-sept, Buck was resigned.

For the season John Buck hit just .246 with 2 HR and 8 RBI in 69 AB's but did manage to hit .280 vs LHP and hit .279 at Safeco, plus he played perfect defense and the pitcher love him. So with that said Buck at 33 yrs old will get a chance to play and see if he can help the M's get a World Series Ring.

One interesting note for the playoffs, is the fact, LHP James Paxton will move to the Bullpen as the M's plan to go with a 4 man rotation after getting the top 3 starter rest the final week of the regular season.

So the rotation will look like this

      Hernandez (22-4 1.79 ERA)
      Young (17-7, 3.25 ERA)
      Iwakuma (10-6 3.37 ERA)
      Walker (8-4 3.77 ERA)

      The Bullpen

      LHP J. Paxton (10-10, 3.83 ERA
      LHP L. Luetge (5-5, 3.38 ERA)
      LHP J. Beimel (1-0, 1.29 ERA .171 vs LHB)
      LHP J. Russell (6-1 2 saves 1.39 ERA)

      RHP S. Pryor (3-1 2.25 ERA)
      RHP D. Leone (2-0 2 saves 2.49 ERA 8.10 K/9, .210 vs RHB)
      RHP D. Farquhar (1-2 4 saves 2.74 ERA 9.98 K/9, .216 BA)
      RHP F. Rodney (49 saves 1.89 ERA, 8.12 K/9, .162 vs RHB, .196 vs LHB)

      The Deuce
"Honestly I feel like if our SP's can go 6 IP, we have the bullpen that can finish out the games for us. Hopefully it will keep them fresh and allow them go on a smaller amount of rest"

With Franklin and Buck taking up 2 bench spots the other 2 will go to IF/OF T. Plouffe who will give MAC a solid RH power bat (14 HR's), with the other spot being taking up by whoever is not starting at 1B. L. Morrison (.271 8 HR 32 RBI, but .300 vs RHP) will play against RHP, well J. Smoak (.262 14 HR 46 RBI but .303 vs LHP) will play vs LHP.

      The batting order will be

      CF E. Bonficacio
      LF D. Ackley
      2B R. Cano
      RF C. Hart
      3B K. Seager
      DH J. Willingham
      1B L. Morrison/J. Smoak
SS N. Franklin vs LHP, B. Miller vs RHP
C M. Zuninio vs RHP, J. Buck vs LHP

Plouffe will likely see action in LF vs LHP and RF vs RHP with Hart moving to DH.

0'S FALL TO TRIBE IN AL WILDCARD

Just 2 years after making the Wildcard in 2012 and advancing to take on the Yankees where they lost in Game 5, this year the Baltimore Orioles found themselves on the other end of the 1 game play in "Do or Die" of the W.C.

For Cleveland it was redemption after losing the W.C. to Tampa Bay last season, the Tribe will be moving on this season as they will face a familiar opponent from 2001, when they took on the Seattle M's losing in 5 games.

        Game Recap

This game came down to whose #1 would perform like one. For Cleveland J. Masterson did, going 8 IP giving up just 2 runs on 11 hits well striking out 5.

For Baltimore, C. Tillman did not. Tillman went just 5 IP giving up 5 runs on 9 hits well striking out 3.

What's worse is the O's pen wasn't any better. After Tillman was ran from the game, Edgmer Esaclona came in and gave Baltimore 2 scoreless IP of relief, but then they turned the ball over to 12 game winner LHP T. Patton in the 8th who ends up giving up 2 more runs. Then in the 9th down 7-2, Bud Norris took the mound (don't know why?) and Norris gave up 2 more runs. making it 9-2..

Cleveland was led by M. Bourn going 4/5 at the plate, well D. Murphy hit a 2-run bomb.

In the loss, M. Wieters was 4/4 with a run scoring double well JJ Hardy went 3/4. The big disappointments were C. Davis (0/4 2 K's) and N. Cruz (0/4 1 K)

PADRES TAKE DOWN N.L. CY YOUNG

In the Battle of the N.L. West W.C. with the winner moving on to take on yet another NL West member (Colorado), the Padres came out on top, as they defeated the Clayton Kershaw (NY CY Young winner) 11-2.

Kershaw would go just 5 IP giving up 5 runs on 7 hits before leaving the game. The Dodgers bullpen wasn't any better as they combine to give up 6 more runs on 6 hits.

On the opposite side, Ian Kennedy pitched 8 IP giving up the 2 runs on 6 hits well striking out 6.

At the Plate, San Diego's offense was generated by 5 Homeruns including 2 by C. Quentin who drives in 3 runs, but the biggest game from the bat of Catcher Y. Grandal who clears the bases in the 8th.

Other HR's where solo shot by C. Maybin and a 2-run by Y. Alonso.

When I had to reload Padres made the playoffs via winning a tie breaker game against the Braves to play the Dodgers..

Now they are moving on to face Colorado.. Pretty crazy...

                M'S VS TRIBE A.L.D.S

Safeco Field was packed, with the Seattle Mariners making their first playoff appearance since 2001, when they beat the Cleveland Indians in 5 games before moving on to face the New York Yankees in the A.L.C.S.

Facing them across the diamond yet again was the Tribe, only this time whoever moving on wouldn't be facing the Yankees but instead the winner of Toronto/Kansas City..

Here is a the recap of the series..

                Game 1 (M's win 6-3)

King Felix vs D. Salazar in Game 1, gave Mariner fans hopes of starting things off on the right foot and they did.

Seattle got on the scoreboard first scoring 2 runs in the 2nd to take a 2-0 lead, but a 2-run HR by Kipnis in the 3rd inning ties the game, and then the Indians take the lead as Brantley comes up with a RBI single to make it 3-2.

The M's would tie the game 3-3 in the bottom of the 4th, and then in the 7th take the lead 4-3 and not stopping there add 2 more in the 8th to make it the final.

On the Mound, King Felix picks up the "W" as he goes 7 IP giving up the 3 runs on 5 hits well striking out 6. J. Russell pitched the 8th getting the ball to F. "The Arrow" Rodney who pitched the 9th for his first post season save.

At the Plate, the Offense scored the bulk of their runs via the longball, as D. Ackley, R. Cano, K. Seager and L. Morrison all hit solo HR's. M. Zunino and J. Willingham were responsible for the other 2 RBI's.

                Game 2 (M's win 5-4)

Cleveland took the lead 2-0 in the 2nd, added another run in both the 4th and 5th to make it 4-0, but the M's bat's come alive in the bottom of the 5th as they score 4 runs to tie the game, as E. Bonifacio, D. Ackley, R. Cano and C. Hart all pick up RBI's.

In the 7th Seattle took the lead as C. Hart drives in Ackley for the winning run.

On the Mound, Chris Young factors into a no-decision as he goes 6 IP giving up the 4 runs on 9 hits well striking out 6.

                J. Beimel picks up the "W" pitching the 7th, well D. Farquhar pitched the 8th and Rodney pitched the 9th for his 2nd save..

                Game 3 (Tribe wins 5-2)

Cleveland scores 4 in the 3rd, inlcuding a Kipnis 3-run bomb then in the 6th they add on another via a N. Swisher solo HR.

On the Mound, H. Iwakuma goes just 5 IP giving up all 4 runs on 7 hits well striking out just 1. L. Luetge pitched the 6th and 7th giving up 1 run on 1 hit
                (Swisher's HR). D. Leone pitched the 8th.

For Clevelend Z. McAllister picks up the "W" as he goes 8 IP giving up 2 runs on 6 hits well striking out 5.

At the Plate, K. Seager and B. Miller were responsible for the RBI's well Cano and Willingham both 2/3 scored the 2 runs.

                Game 4 (M's win 6-1)

Well it didn't take 5, as Seattle is moving on!!!!

On the Mound, T. Walker dominated going 8 1/3 IP giving up just 1 unearned run on 6 hits and 5 BB's well striking out 9 as he picks up the "W".

At the Plate, Seattle scored 4 in the 1st to give Walker the cushion he needed and added 1 in the 8th and 9th.

                L. Morrison was the big hero as finishes the day with a team high 3 RBI's. Both C. Hart and J. Willingham added HR's.

                The Deuce
"This is a deal for us as a Franchise. We have alot of guy's in the last year of their contracts and I know all of them would like nothing more then to be one of the 25 men who get the Mariners Franchise their 1st ever World Series appearance. I am excited that we were able to finish it in 4 as now Felix will get a chance to start Game 1 of the next series as well"

ROYALS BEAT BLUE JAYS IN 3

                    VS

Wow. After dominating most of the season with one of the best records in the American League, Toronto just failed to show up for the Playoffs.

K.C. dominated Game 1 (4-1) behind a complete game from J. "Big Game" Shields.

In Game 2, K.C. scores 7 runs in the first 2 innings and holds on to win the game (7-6) as the Royals BP of Coleman/Herrera/Holland pitch 3 1/3 IP of scoreless/no-hit ball striking out 5.

In Game 3, Rookie K. Zimmer steps up huge with 8 solid IP giving up just 2 runs (1 earned) on 4 hits well striking out 9.

A the plate. S. Perez was named POG with a Grand Salami in the 1st giving KC the early 6-0 lead as they went on to win the game 7-2.

                    REDS BEAT NATIONALS IN 5!!

                    VS

The Nationals made a huge run winning 13 straight to get them into 1st place in the NL East but came up short against the Central Division Champs.

Cincy took Game 1 (9-6) beating S. Strasburg, Washington then won Game 2 (7-0) behind a complete game from J. Zimmerman (5 hits 11 K's)

Cincy then took Game 3 (9-8) as they came back from losing the lead in the 8th when the Nat's scored 4 to make it 8-7 by scoring 2 runs in the Top of the 9.

Washington took Game 4 (9-4) as Catcher W. Ramos and SS I. Desmond come up big at the plate. Ramos finished 4/4 with 5 RBI including his 2nd HR of the series, well Desmond also went deep for the 2nd time in 4 games with a 3-run bomb. For the series Ramos is hitting .472 well Desmond is hitting .562.

It came down to Game 5 Cueto vs Zimmerman. Coming of a 5-hitter, Zimmerman just didn't have it today as he gives up 5 runs on 4 hits in 5 1/3 IP as he takes the loss. Cueto picks up the "W" going 6 IP giving up 2 runs on 7 hits as Cincinnati wins the game (10-6)

At the Plate, T. Frazier went yard twice driving in 5 of the Red's 10 runs.

                    ROCKIES BEAT PADRES IN 5!!!

                    VS

Colorado lost Game 1 (10-8), but rebounded to win Game 2 (6-2) and Game 3 (5-3). As J. Chacin starts both Game 1 and 3 (he went just 2 IP in Game 1 and then had 3 days rest before Game 3?)

Finally in Game 4, it was D. Gee vs A. Cashner with Gee taking the loss (3-0), as Cashner goes 8 IP giving up just 8 hits well striking out 8.

In Game 5 it was B. Anderson vs Josh Johnson. Both SP's would give up 4 runs, but Anderson gave up his over 6 2/3 IP well Johnson would go just 6.

The Rockies would take the lead in the bottom of the 7th as Tulowitzki drives in the winning runs with a double as Colorado wins (6-4).

                    B. Parnell picks up his 2nd save of the series striking out 2 of the 3 batters he faced.

For the series, Tulo hit .368, well N. Arenado hit .389 with 2 HR. M. Cuddyer went deep 3 times (all solo shots) well batting .286.

Those are some bizarre playoff teams. Other than the Reds and Nats, I can't say I'd have expected any of the others to make it. Nice win, good luck vs. the Royals!

Yeah it was a weird year.. I was really shocked to see the Royals sweep the Blue Jays and I must admit I was pretty happy to see Colorado move on. I feel pretty good about my chances against the Royals and I actually would feel pretty good about my chance both the Reds and Rockies.

                          A.L.C.S

                          VS

The last time the M's played in the A.L.C.S., GM "The Deuce" was sitting in the stands for Game 1 and Game 2 vs the Yankees only to watch the M's drop Game 1 (4-3) and Game 2 (3-2) before they finally went to N.Y. were the Offense exploded to score 14 runs in the Game 3 win. The M's then went on to lose Game 4 and Game 5 scoring just 1 run and 3 runs.

This time around he hoped things would be different, as the M's once again would hold home field advantage after having the best record in the majors this season.

Here is a recap of the series.

                          Game 1

This game would feature King Felix Hernandez vs Big Game Jamie Shields. So most expected a low scoring pitchers duel. Instead they got the something different.

Seattle got on the scoreboard in the 1st scoring as E. Bonifacio leads of the game with a single, steals 2B and then scores with 2 outs on a Corey Hart single.

In the 3rd inning, Seattle again attacked the scoreboard scoring 3 runs again off the bat of Corey Hart as he hits a 3-run bomb to make it 4-0.

That's when playoff history was made. Stepping up to the plate in the 5th, Corey Hart would find the bases load. By now Big Game was on the bench having gone 4 IP giving up 5 runs on 6 hits.

Veteran J. Guthrie in the bullpen for the series had taken over, but Guthrie was struggling with 4 BB's already. With the bases loaded he had no where to put Hart.

Hart waited for his pitch and on 2-1 he got it, hitting a grand slam to clear the bases and give the M's the 8-0 lead, with Hart responsible for driving in all 8 runs.

But the M's offense wasn't done. The top of the order once again got on base in the 7th,only this time Hart goes down swinging bringing up K. Seager with 1 out, Seager doubles to left scoring 2 more as the M's now lead 10-0.

On the Mound, "The King was cruising giving up just 2 hits in 7 IP. Finally in the 8th, Hernandez made a mistake leaving a fastball over the plate for Aoki who hits the 2-run bomb to put the Royals on the board. Hernandez would finish the inning but his day was done as he picks up his 2nd "W" of the postseason and 24th of the year, going 8 IP giving up 2 runs (1 ER) on 4 hits well striking out 5.

                          J. Russell pitched the 9th to close out the game. FINAL SCORE 10-2

As you can imagine C. Hart was named POG. Hart now has 51 HR's on the year and has driven in 154 batters.

                          GAME 2

All year we have seen former Mariners have success against their former team. Tonight as no different as Jason Vargas took the mound opposite C. Young who was still looking for "W" #18.

Vargas dominated, pitching the complete game shutout giving up just 1 hit.. That's right 1 hit!!!, well only striking out 4.

Young on the other hand would go just 5 IP giving up 3 runs on 6 hits and 2 BB's well striking out 4, taking the loss.

                          D. Leon pitched the 6th and 7th striking out 2. S. Pryor pitched the 8th giving up a run on 3 hits but redeemed himself somewhat with a perfect 9th.

The lone hit. Well that came off the bat of Mike Zunino who also walked as he finished the day 1/2.

                          FINAL SCORE 4-0

                          GAME 3

Looking to give their team the lead in the series, H. Iwakuma would go up against M. Estrada. However neither pitcher would do well as both got no decisions.

Iwakuma would go 5 2/3 IP giving up 5 runs on 9 hits, well Estrada would go 4 1/3 giving up 5 runs on 7 hits and 5 BB's.

                          The difference was the bullpen.

                          D. Leone came in and gave the M's 2 scoreless IP striking out 2 as he picks up the "W", and D. Farquhar pitched the final 4 outs without giving up even a hit as he picks up the save.

For K.C. Y. Ventura wasn't so lucky. The 22 yr old rookie gave up 4 runs in 2 2/3 IP well striking out 5, as he takes the loss.

                          At the Plate

                          L. Morrison comes up big entering the game hitting just .197 in the playoffs Morrison finishes the night 2/5 including a grand slam off Ventura in the 8th to finish with a team high 5 RBI's.

                          K. Seager also drove in 2 runs going 2/4 and M. Zunino drove in 2 runs with a double in the 5th.

                          R. Cano finished the day 3/4 with 2 runs scored and his not hitting .370 in the playoffs

                          FINAL SCORE 9-5

                          GAME 4

Well the first 3 matchups of the series where veterans vs veterans, today's pitchers duel was rookie vs rookie as T. Walker took the mound opposite K. Zimmer.

During the regular season Walker went 8-4 with a 3.77 ERA, well Zimmer went 7-1 with a 3.45 ERA.

Today it was Zimmer coming out on top.

Walker would give up 5 runs in the bottom of the 2nd including a grand salami to SS A. Escobar and another in the 4th (solo shot to Cain) as he leaves the game with just 3 1/3 IP 6 runs on 6 hits and 2 BB's.

Zimmer on the other hand would go 8 IP giving up just 3 runs on 8 hits and 4 BB's well striking out 9 as he improves to 2-0 in the post season.

                          J. Paxton would come in and pitch 3 2/3 IP for the M's in relief giving up 1 more run on 3 hits.

At the Plate for the M's, C. Hart drives in 2 runs, well Zunino drives in the other. Cano goes 2/3 and his now hitting .400.

                          FINAL SCORE 7-3

                          GAME 5

King vs Big Game Part II.

This time around each pitcher matched one another inning for inning as they both go 8 IP, but this game wouldn't be decided in just 9.

                          That right. This game would go to the 10th tied 1-1. (Felix-8 IP 4 H 1 R 3 K, Shields-8 IP 5 H 1 R 3 BB 8 K)

                          J. Beimel came in and pitched a scoreless 9th for the M's, L. Coleman did the same for K.C, but in the 10th, Coleman still on the mound gives up a double to B. Miller, M. Zunino then singles moving Miller to 3rd. N. Franklin then comes into the game and pinch runs for "Z" taking 2B uncontested. Now with 1 out and runners and 2nd and 3rd, E. Bonifacio comes up huge with a single to RF, scoring both runners to give the M's the 2 run lead.

                          F. Bueno comes in and closes out the IP getting the final 2 outs, but the damage had been done.

With a 2-run lead, the M's bring in F. "The Arrow" Rodney who gives up 2 hits to make things exciting but gets E. Hosmer to strike out to end the game.

                          FINAL SCORE 3-1

                          GAME 6

                          M' vs Vargas Part II.

With a chance to win the series the only thing that stood in from of the M's and there first World Series appearance was former Mariner J. Vargas. Vargas owned the M's in the Game 2 win, pitching a 1 hitter.

Today was a different story. Down 2-0 in the 3rd, the M's take a 3-2 lead as M. Zunino comes up big with a 2 run double and later scores on a single by Cano.

K.C. ties the game 3-3 in the 4th and that's where it would stay until the 11th..

That's right folks extra innings yet again. Vargas would stick around for 7 IP giving up the 3 runs on 9 hits 2 BB well striking out 4.

                          C. Young yet again fails to get #18 as he goes 6 IP giving up his 3 runs on 6 hits 4 BB's well striking out 3.

Rookie D. Leone is dominating in relief as he goes a season high 4 IP giving up just 1 hit well stirking out 4. In the 11th S. Pryor takes over and gets.

For K.C. T. Collins went 3 IP of scoreless relief, but in the 11th, A. Crow (8-6 2.93 ERA during the regular season took over). After getting pinch hitter L. Morrison to strike out, Justin Smoak stepped to the plate and that's win it happened.

Justin Smoak the man many M's fans wanted gone all season, stepped up already 2/3 with a run scored on the day, hit a 3-1 fastball to deep right field as the walk off wins the game for the M's....:

                          FINAL SCORE 4-3

                          The Deuce
"Hollywood couldn't have written it any better for Smoaky.. The fans have been pretty rough on him, myself included at times, but he proved he could be a valuable part of the team with the way he was hitting lefties (.333 in the playoffs and over .300 in the regular season). Today he got the biggest hit of his career off a righty.."

Thanks, it was pretty exciting for him to be able to come through like that for me.

I understand Jack Z's pain in not wanting to get rid of Smoak and Ackley, because I too had and still have high hopes for them. Ackley just like in real life has been on fire the month of September and has hit well in the playoffs for me as well, so much that my plan is still to make him the everyday LF at least for 1 more season.

With Smoak hitting lefties well and Morrison heating up against righties, It looks like they will most likely be my 1B platoon next season giving Peterson a full year in AAA.

Now the fun part. Bringing home a Championship. I didn't get a chance to post it yet and I work today, but should be able to get it up tonight but the Rockies beat the Reds to represent the N.L. I work all day Saturday, so I will likely start playing the Series on Sunday..

Deuce, first and foremost, congratulations on taking the AL league title. Secondly, what a way to do it! I've not got many walk-offs in the games that I've played, but when they happen evening in regular season games, I go bonkers.

Good luck to those M's in the World Series.
