    ROCKIES AVOID THE SWEEP

When the Rockies traded one of their top prospects T. Story for D. Gee, they were hoping Gee would turn into a quality #3 type starter for them.

Tonight in Game 4 of the World Series, he gave them a #1 type start pitching 8 IP giving up 2 runs on 6 hits well striking out 9, as he improves to 2-1 with a 2.17 ERA in the playoffs.

For Seattle, SP C. Young looking for his first "W" in over 6 weeks, was denied yet again going just 4 IP giving up 6 runs on 7 hits. J. Paxton moved to the bullpen for the playoffs after picking up 10 wins during the regular season in the rotation, didn't fair much better as he gave up 4 runs on 5 hits in 3 IP.

    J. Beimel closed out the final 2 IP for the M's giving up no hits, as the M's fall 10-4

At the Plate for Seattle, Corey Hart hit his 5th HR of the playoffs and 53rd of the season (solo shot) well L. Morrison hits a 2-run bomb in the bottom of the 9th of Logan.

For Colorado 8 of their 10 runs came via the long ball, as Troy Tulowitzki goes deep twice driving in a total of 5 runs, well Arenado hits a 3-run bomb in the 5th.

    UP NEXT

"King Felix" 3-0 in the playoffs will look to close out the series in front of the home crowd and give the Mariners there first ever World Series Championship vs Colorado's Lefty Brett Anderson.

          GAME 5

          VS

M'S CLINCH 1ST EVER WORLD SERIES RING!!

For 7 Innings, "King" Felix dominated the Rock's bats giving up just 6 hits well striking out 8, before giving up back to back solo HR's by Tulo and CarGo in the 8th.

Lucky for the M's the offense had supported Hernandez with 6 runs in the 3rd via the long ball as J. Willingham clears the bases with a grand salami, and N. Franklin follows it up with a 2-run bomb, chasing B. Anderson from the game (3 IP 5 H 6 R 2 BB 1 K)

Then in the 6th the M's tack on 4 more runs, as E. Bonifacio leads off the inning with a solo shot, followed up by RBI's by Hart, Seager, and Smoak all coming off M. Belisle (3 IP 4 H 4 R 3 K)

In the 9th, with a 10-2 lead, Danny Farquhar came in close out the game, but instead managed to walk the first 3 batters he faced to load the bases, before serving up a grand slam to DJ LeMahieu to make it 10-4. James Russell would take over, but after recording a out striking out Blackmon, Tulo took Russell deep for his 2nd straight 2-Homer game making it 10-5.

The Bullpen phone rang, however this time the call didn't come from the dugout. GM "The Deuce" was calling and told F. "The Arrow" Rodney it was his time to shine. Rodney came in and quickly got CarGo to ground out, before striking out Cuddyer to end the game, as Arrows were sent flying.....Final Score 10-5

Re: The King and his Diamond Table-A Seattle M's Franchise (MLB14-PS3)

Thanks for all the support of those who have been following along. I am pretty excited to bring the M's their first ever World Series (well technically their 3rd, because I won 2 with the M's in MLB13).

I am off the next 3 days which is good because I have a feel the off-season is going to take alot of time. I have many difficult decisions to make in regards to all the players I traded for who helped me win (Willingham,Plouffee,Laird,Bonifacio,Russell) as well as what to do in regards of Corey Hart and C. Young.

Because contracts are pretty messed up except Hernandez and Cano who I am both paying 20 Mil+ too, the rest of my team is pretty much Free Agents, which means I have to decide how long to extend Seager, what do do about Ackley and Smoak and try and fix the rest of the teams contracts to look more similar to real life and how will all that affect my budget..

                  M'S IN FOR A VERY BUSY OFF-SEASON

GM "The Deuce" has finally done what 8 other Seattle GM's where not able to do, bring home a World Series Title to the Pacific Northwest less then 1 year after watching the Seattle Seahawks win their first ever Super Bowl.

However a huge part of the success the M's had this past season has to also include the F.A. signings of Corey Hart,Chris Young, J. Beimel and F. Rodney as well as the trades made by Deuce to acquire J. Willingham and T. Plouffee from the Twins, E. Bonifacio and J. Russell from the Cubs as late pickups in G. Laird from the Braves and S. Van Slyke from the Dodgers despite the fact they did not play in the World Series.

Now Deuce faces a very tough decision as Hart,Young, Willingham, Plouffee, Bonifacio, Russell, Beimel and Laird are all Free Agents..

Let's start with Corey Hart. Last season the M's landed Hart for a base salary of 5 million with incentives that took the deal to 13 million after he hit .289 with a MLB best 48 HR's and 142 RBI's during the regular season in which he won the A.L. MVP.

Well Hart's playoff B.A. took a major dive (.176) he still managed to lead the team with 5 HR's and 17 RBI's.

Hart will be 32 this coming season, it appears his past injuries could be behind him as he played a solid RF for the M's as well as spent time at 1B and DH, but the question is can the M's afford to give him a 4-5 year deal worth 15-18 million per season?

SP Chris Young originally signed a minor league deal hoping to make the rotation in the spring. Young did more then that as he went on to go 17-7 posting a 3.25 ERA during the regular season. However at the end of the year he got hurt and thus never really performed well in the playoffs going 0-2 well posting a 6.86 ERA in 21 IP. Did the M's use up what was left of the 34 yr old's arm, or can he make a repeat of 2014 in which he was the runner up to "King" Felix in the A.L. CY Young.

Chances are Young will hope to turn this past season into at least a 2 or 3 year deal and could want as much as 7-10 million per season.

                  E. Bonifacio was brought over to be the M's everyday CF and leadoff hitter. At times Boni looked amazing racking up a team high 28 SB's for the M's despite batting just .246. However in the playoffs he raised that avg to .323 with a OBP of .368.

With the capability of playing all 3 OF spots as well as 2B,SS and 3B, Bonfiacio could be a worth alot to many teams and is expected to wanting a salary of 3-4 million for 4-5 years which could put him out of the M's budget range.

Willingham and Plouffe. Lets start with Willingham. He will be 36 next season so it's safe to say his days of playing the OF are coming to a end, but could his RH power be the answer at DH? Well he did manage to finish the season with 17 HR's and 66 RBI's, only 4 of those HR's came in a Seattle uniform during the regular season. Add in the fact he hit just .224 with 2 HR and 7 RBI in 49 playoff AB's, it's pretty safe to say his playing days could be over.

Well Willingham is likely a DH should he return next season, Plouffe is a man with multiple options. He can play anywhere in the IF minus Catcher and he can play both corner OF spots. Which makes for a great person to have on your bench, but like Willingham since coming to Seattle, Plouffe hit just 4 HR's out of his season 14 and finished hitting just .238 Because of his versitility he will likely have many suitors come this offseason and could look for a team who is willing to try and make him a everyday starter.

                  G. Larid came to Seattle hitting over .400 in limited AB's for Atlanta and continued hitting well finishing with a .326 BA for the M's well playing most of August behind the plate. Despite the fact he will be 35 next season, Laird most likely will be given a 1 year deal and a chance to back up Zunino at the MLB level next season.

LHP James Russell was a very coveted Loggy in the trade market last season and he proved why posting 6-1 record with 2 saves and a 1.39 ERA during the regular season and then pitching 5 IP in the playoffs posting a 1.80 ERA. At 29, he will likely be one of the top Loggy's in F.A., but we have already heard that Deuce plans to do whatever it takes to keep him in Seattle.

LHP J. Beimel like C. Young came to Seattle on a Minor League deal and left Spring Training with a spot on the 25 man roster, finishing the season with a 1-0 record and 1.29 ERA as a true Loggy specialist. Then in the post season he took it a step further winning 2 games well not allowing a run in 4 2/3 IP. At 36, he still probably has a year or 2 left in the tank and like Russell will likely be one of the top lefty's in F.A.. With Lucaus Luetge and C. Furbursh both still on the 40 man roster, Beimel's chances of returning to Seattle will be based of how much money he can get on the open market.

                    THE CAPTAIN OFFICIALLY RETIRES

New York SS Derek Jeter has decided to call it a career at the age of 40. He leaves the game with a lifetime BA of .311 with 3457 hits 264 HR's and 1311 RBI's, making him a shoe in for the Hall.

Joining him will be Yankee teammates SP H. Kuroda also age 40. Kuroda posted a 11-7 record with a 4.11 ERA this past season as well as OF Ichiro Suzuki. Ichiro (41) leaves 164 hits shy of 3000 in the Majors, but does leave with a career BA of .317. This past season he hit .284 with 4 HR and 32 RBI in 331 AB's.

Former A's/Yankees/Indians, 1B Jason Giambi (44) is also calling it a career. Giambi hit just .220 this past season with 3 HR's and 6 RBI in 41 AB's for Cleveland. For his career Giambi is a .277 hitter with 441 HR's.

Former Mariner Raul Ibanez (42) is calling it a career, despite hitting .263 with 18 HR's and 62 RBI's this past season for the Angels.

CP R. Madson (34) joined the Met's late in the July and finished the year with 11 saves and a 3.65 ERA, but despite that he is calling it a career.

CP L. Hawkins (42) went 1-4 with 31 saves and a 3.72 ERA this past season for the Colorado Rockies before losing his CP role to B. Parnell in the July trade, and has decided not to try and make another comeback with another team.

SP Jars Jurrjens (29) is calling it a career despite a 54-37 record and career ERA of 3.62. Jurrjens was limited this past season to just a few games at the MLB level in which he went 1-0 with a 3.14 ERA and 4 K's.

OF Bobby Abreau (41) is hanging up his cleats. He didn't see any action in 2014 spending his time in AAA, for his career he hit .292 with 287 HR's.

                      IKE DAVIS CALLS IT QUITS

When the Mets drafted Ike Davis in the 1st Round with the 18th pick they thought they had landed their 1B of the future and in 2010 he sure looked like it but 4 years later the "I Like Ike" signs where no where to be found in Queens and Davis was shipped out to Pittsburgh, where he would get hurt and land on the D.L. for the rest of the season.

Today we learn that the injury is worse then once thought and is ending Ike's career at the Age of 27. He leaves having hit just .242 lifetime with 80 HR"s and 260 RBI's in 1752 AB's.

A LOOK AT THE TOP 2015 FREE AGENTS

Last season, Max Scherzer (89/B) turned down a 6 year 144 million dollar contract extension. Now the former A.L. CY Young winner is looking to cash in in Free Agency as he headlines a very strong SP market despite just a 6-6 record and 4.45 ERA last seaeon

Scherzer isn't the only one from the Tigers rotation hitting Free Agency. July trade pickup LHP F. Liriano (83/B, 9-6 3.53 ERA) also joins the list after a injury late in the season saw him finish 2014 on the D.L.

Boston, Kansas City and Cleveland also have huge decisions to make.

The Red Sox will be looking to resign Ace LHPJohn Lester (88/B, 13-9 3.19 ERA) as well as Jake Peavy (82/B, 11-12 3.92 ERA)

The Royals will look to do the same with Ace Jamie Shields (89/B, 11-9 3.79 ERA)

well the Indians will try to keep #1 Justin Masterson (87/B, 14-12 3.42 ERA)

Last year Ervin Santana (83/B) turned down multiple multi-year deals instead settling for a 1 year deal with the Atlanta Braves where he went 15-12 with a 3.34 ERA. Question is what will he do this time around.
