JULY 14: MLB ALL-STAR GAME:
AMERICAN LEAGUE 7, NATIONAL LEAGUE 4

Carlos Santana was the MVP with two doubles and a home run.
Los Angeles, CA (AP) – The American League jumped out to an early three run lead and made that stick in the All-Star Game at Dodger Stadium on Tuesday evening in a 7-3 victory over the National League. Carlos Santana was named the game MVP going 3 for 4 with two doubles, a home run and three RBI.
It was Santana that got the American League going with a three run home run off of Patrick Corbin in the second inning. Hunter Dozier would add a three run home run off of Trevor Bauer in the fourth as the American League stretched their lead to 6-1. Dozier went 2 for 4 with the home run and drove in the other four American League runs.
Arizona Diamondback David Peralta hit a solo home run in the second off of winning pitcher Jakob Junis. Peralta went 1 for 3 in the contest. Ketel Marte got the start at second base for the National League and went 0 for 3. Madison Bumgarner pitched one inning in relief and sent down the side in order.
Nolan Arenado would add a two-run home run in the sixth inning, but it was not enough as the American League bullpen would shut down the National League the rest of the way.
The DBacks return to action on Friday evening at home as the start off the second half against the Miami Marlins at Chase Field.

David Peralta provided some excitement for the National League.
