We are evenly matched against both of them but I think that the Spartans are the tougher of the two teams. On the other hand, we have an advantage at sf against your Fighting Illini. My starting sf, Brett Reece, is 85 ovr and is about 7 points higher than the starting sf for Illinois. I L L might be in T R O U B L E since we are at home.

Re: February 15, 2014 - Illinois (16-8, 6-6) @ Ohio State (14-8, 6-5)
I thought that Reece would do better against the tough Illinois defense since he had the ovr advantage over his defender but Ozier was really the man that the Fighting Illini had trouble guarding. Both teams played sloppy basketball during the first half. Lots of bad passes and poor shot selection on both sides as the teams tried to deal with the other's defense. I'm sure that it will be a much different game when we head to Champaign.
As a side note, this teams now has an outside shot at 20 wins, especially with the two games the final week before the Big Ten tournament. The Wildcats can be tamed and we have already beaten the Hawkeyes on their floor earlier in the Big Ten schedule. If you can read this, thank a teacher. Re: Coaching Career of Bob Knight (No, not THAT Bob Knight) - take #2 - ps2
I took a look at the Bracketology and we were an 11 seed in the west region. Hopefully, we can better our chances by gaining a few more wins and then have a pretty good showing in the Big Ten tournament. If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you can read this in english, thank a soldier.Comment

Re: Coaching Career of Bob Knight (No, not THAT Bob Knight) - take #2 - ps2
When I was first approached with the three power conference jobs I never looked at the ratings of the teams. I'm glad that I went with the Buckeyes as they were the much higher ovr rated team.
Like Bubblefour noted, all I targeted was a winning season to keep my streak alive of not coaching a team to a losing record (the REAL BOB KNIGHT never had a losing season). We have already won more games than the previous year and more conference games than last season. I should have three starters returning and could be four if Reece (currently 85 ovr) doesn't opt for the NBA draft. I'm also expecting at least one inseason tournament as well due to the higher standing in the Big Ten. I just might stay here awhile. If you can read this, thank a teacher. Re: Coaching Career of Bob Knight (No, not THAT Bob Knight) - take #2 - ps2
Don,
Maryland is taking on Big 10 champs Ohio State in the sweet 16 of the NCAA tourney in my legacy. Given that 2nd place Wisconsin gave the Terrapins a beat down in College Park earlier in the season, I'm not too optimistic.
This version of Thad Motta's team has a nice group of senior shooting guards, not dominated by defense as one might think.Comment
