GAME 8: Atlanta Hawks (5-2) @ New York Knicks (4-4)

The Hawks visited the Madison Square Garden to face off against the Knicks. With the return of SG Jamal Crawford (15 pt, 2 ast) to New York, many fans were in attendance to watch him play. It was not Crawford who showed up to play the best tonight, however, as SG Joe Johnson (27 pt, 7 reb, 6 ast) out-performed the entire Hawks roster cruising to the player of the game award.

      GAME 9: Atlanta Hawks (6-2) @ Boston Celtics (6-3)

Hawks' captain and superstar SG Joe Johnson (32 pts, 5 reb, 5 ast, 2 stl) proved again why he is worth a tad bit more than 4-years/$60 million. The player of the game lead the Hawks to a victory over the tough Boston Celtics. Often double teamed or pressured, JJ made it look very easy out there.

The Hawks won by a slim margin as they were outrebounded and often outhustled tonight. The Celtics had a +11 rebound margin against the Hawks and had 8 more offensive rebounds than the Hawks did. Keep in mind that this was a night that the Celtics were without one of their premiere bigs in C Kendrick Perkins.

SF Marvin Williams (16 pt, 7 rebs, 4 ast) was one of the players who helped the Hawks in the first half, but shot a very poor percentage in the second. He was missing wide open three pointers and mid-range shots and finished the game with a weak field goal ratio: 6-of-20. Among the players who helped lead the Hawks to a win over their bitter rivals were PG Mike Bibby (19 pt, 3 reb, 6 ast, 2 stl) and PF Josh Smith (13 pt, 10 reb, 3 ast, 2 stl, 5 blk).

GAME 10: New Orleans Hornets (6-4) @ Atlanta Hawks (7-2)

Many Atlanta fans were in attendance today to watch PG Chris Paul (12 pts, 12 ast) and the New Orleans Hornets face off against the Atlanta Hawks. A lot of people always show up to this game to imagine "What could have been" had they not drafted SF Marvin Williams (7 pts, 7 reb, 2 blk) second overall over Chris Paul and PG Deron Williams.

The Hawks looked like they would blow them out, but as the Hawks have shown time and time again this year, they allow teams to catch up to them regardless of the size of the lead.

The game ended with yet another game-winning buzzer beater shot by SG Joe Johnson (22 pts, 7 ast). Johnson is 2-for-3 in game-winning buzzer beaters this year. He's shown that the critics who call him out on his being clutch are wrong.

The player of the game though was PF Josh Smith (19 pts, 13 reb, 2 blk).

The Hawks will look to carry on their momentum towards the game against 8-3 Portland Trailblazers where the Hawks will be playing at home. SG Brandon Roy will be playing hurt as he is sporting a broken finger. This is supposed to stick with him for 4-6 weeks, but he has been practicing with the team this week. The last time these teams faced off, the Blazers beat the Hawks 101-99 in a nailbiter that came right down to the very last second. That was at Portland, and the Hawks are looking to get their revenge in Atlanta.

          GAME 11: Portland Trailblazers (8-3) @ Atlanta Hawks (8-2)

So far, the Portland Trailblazers are one of the two teams that can say that they beat the Atlanta Hawks this year. In their previous match-up, the Blazers defeated the Hawks in a 101-99 victory that would come down to the very last shot (taken and missed by SG Joe Johnson).

Tonight, SG Joe Johnson (18 pts, 8 ast) only shot for 30% from the court. But newly acquired SG Jamal Crawford (36 pts, 7 reb, 6 ast) showed why he was definitely worth the trading away of PG Acie Law (2.4 ppg) and PG Speedy Claxton (0 minutes played this year). When Joe Johnson is not on, Crawford can certainly pick up his slack. Thanks to his efforts, Crawford was named the player of the game. PF Josh Smith (20 pts, 12 reb, 2 blk) also helped the Hawks pick up the win.

            GAME 12: Miami Heat (8-2) @ Atlanta Hawks (9-2)

The missed layups were the name of the game as the Hawks were downed by the Heat 112-105. SG Joe Johnson (14 pt, 7 ast) continued to struggle as SG Jamal Crawford (11 pt, 3 ast) could not pick up the slack for him. PF Josh Smith (9 pt, 9 reb) was kept on the bench because of foul trouble.

SG Dwyane Wade (28 pt, 7 reb, 4 ast) was named the player of the game as he and the Heat defeated the Hawks to give them their third loss of the season. SF Michael Beasley (18 pt, 14 reb) continues his strong second season as he also dominated the Hawks inside the paint grabbing points and rebounds.

One bright spot of this game comes in the form of PG Jeff Teague (18 pt, 3 ast). In just eleven minutes, Teague scored more than any player on the Hawks team.

                  GAME 13: Houston Rockets (4-8) @ Atlanta Hawks (9-3)

The Hawks lose their second home game in a row after player of the game-winning SG Tracy McGrady (25 pt, 5 reb) and the Rockets came to town.

Many can say that Atlanta beat themselves in this game as they only shot 66% (12-for-18) from the free throw line and had 16 turnovers during the game.

SG Joe Johnson (20 pt, 5 ast) led the team in scoring, but was also tied for most turnovers along with SG Jamal Crawford (12 pt) with 4 turnovers.

I don't remember ... I don't think so. It could be the sliders but I'm not sure. Greene's sliders just doesn't feel right anymore... like I have to force a lot of shots in order for it to go in and I'm missing wide open shots and what not.

GAME 14: Atlanta Hawks (9-4) @ New Orleans Hornets (7-6)

The Hawks continue their losing streak as they are defeated by the Hornets on the road. The Hawks are currently on a three-game losing streak. Many can blame it on their terrible FT% and missed open layups and shots. PG Chris Paul (29 pt, 4 reb, 11 ast) ran circles around the defense and it seemed as if no one could stick to any of the Hornets' offensive players. Paul was named the player of the game.

SG Joe Johnson (23 pt, 4 ast) and SG Jamal Crawford (14 pt, 11 ast) did every thing they could to end the Hawks' losing streak, but at the end of the day, their defense just could not hold up against the New Orleans Hornets.

hey man I noticed one of your posts in the slider section and just had to ask you some questions.

I'm using the same slider set as you as well as the Hawks (go ATL) and I am getting shut down every single game. I mean I have yet to get over 15 points with Joe Johnson in my first 5 games in Association. I can't seem to hit a single 3 pointer with em. Almost all my points come from Josh Smith / Bibby.

Do you mostly run and gun or do you find yourself using plays most possessions.

BTW I'm lovin following your association. Wish mine would get a little better

Hey, Helios. Thanks for the feedback.

It sounds like you're struggling with the jumpshots and the overall shooting of hte game. I suggest you go practice with the Hawks in your association. Sometimes it takes a while to master some people's jumpshots.

I go run n' gun with the Hawks sometimes, but I run up the score when I do that so I sometimes slow it down and run a play - Iso Joe / Crawford just like in real life.

                                GAME 15: Orlando Magic (8-7) @Atlanta Hawks (9-5)

The Atlanta Hawks faced off against the Orlando Magic on Thanksgiving night. The game started out very well for the Hawks, but as many opponents can now tell by Atlanta's performances, they make way too many mistakes in the second half. This was a nailbiter and many families were able to watch it as it was televised nationally.

SG Vince Carter (36 pts, 4 reb, 4 ast) found himself matched up with PG Mike Bibby (7 pts, 4 ast) throughout a good majority of the 4th quarter and boy did he take advantage.Although Carter was named the player of the game, the one who really dominated the Hawks was C Dwight Howard (13 pt, 22 reb, 2 blk). Howard racked up the rebounds and kept the Hawks from gaining momentum through fast break points.

SG Jamal Crawford (26 pt, 7 ast) logged in quality minutes off the bench while SF Marvin Williams (6 pt, 5 reb, 3-for-11) started for the Hawks. Woodson still feels like Williams is the better starter, but after tonight, it's hard to imagine how Williams will be keeping his starting job unless he puts together a strong performance within the next couple of games...

PF Josh Smith (12 pt, 6 reb) continues his free throw shooting woes as he goes 0-for-5 from the charity line. Smith is now shooting only 42% from the FT line and is amongst the worst in the league.
