Deron Williams is averaging 27.3 points
      for the league leading Jazz

      November 20, 2010
      East Rutherford, New Jersey

      (AP)
The Utah Jazz climbed up the power rankings this week with a league leading 10 wins and 2 losses. The Indiana Pacers have the biggest jump this week with five straight wins. They jumped from 16 to 2.

New Jersey played poorly this past week, dropping two games against the Bucks and Kings, and have really had defense struggles as of late. They are allowing 98.8 points per game - 6th worst in the NBA. However, their offense has been their weapon of choice at 102.5 points per game - 2nd in the NBA behind the Denver Nuggets at 106.5 points per game.

They've got the Boston Celtics, Toronto Raptors, and Philadelphia 76ers this week.

      Top Five Power Rankings
      1. Utah Jazz: At 10 wins so far this season, the Jazz are building a fire of contention.
      2. Indiana Pacers: Danny Granger took over the league leader in points at 37.6 ppg for the 7-3 Pacers.
      3. Golden State Warriors: The tandem of Steph Curry and Monta Ellis has been deadly thus far.
      4. Oklahoma City Thunder: Kevin Durant and Amar'e Stoudemire are starting to get on the same page for this young team.
      5. Portand Trail Blazers: Still a solid team despite dropping to #5 this week.

      10. New Jersey Nets: The Nets have been looking a bit confused on both sides of the ball. Somebody needs to step in and step up.

      Players of the Week

      East

      SF Danny Grander
      Indiana Pacers

      West

Huge night from Williams (45 pts) you must have been feeling it that night.

Jennings continues to be everything you wanted in a scoring PG but sounds like lack of D keeps him from being a star.. Linn provided some nice stats though since joining the team.

Ray is feeling it. Looks like that might end up being a solid addition. Any chance of a contract extension at the end of the year?

We'll see... too early still. He's gotta show consistency at that age.

LOL... Reading this and looking at your avatar is priceless.

I'm hitting crunch time in my semester, but I'm itching to continue this. Hopefully this weekend.

AK47 is having his best season in the NBA thus far

                      November 27, 2010
                      East Rutherford, New Jersey

                      (AP)
The Jazz are 14-2 and look to be the best in the west in this young season. At 28.7 points per game and 9.8 assists per game, Deron Williams is the catalyst to success.

In contrast, the New Jersey Nets dropped two of three games this week, falling to 9-7 on the season. The city is rumbling for a solution, and trades may be happening in the near future.

                      Top Five Power Rankings
                      1. Utah Jazz: The Jazz have gone 6-0 the past two weeks are simply on fire.
                      2. Denver Nuggets: Carmelo and Co. are leading the league in points per game for the Nuggets.
                      3. Miami Heat: Dwyane Wade is playing like a contender in the final year of his contract.
                      4. Portland Trail Blazers: Boozer is fitting in well in Portland.
                      5. Toronto Raptors: The surprise team of the season went 4-0 this week and sit atop a 11-5 record.

                      13. New Jersey Nets: The Nets are steadily falling in the standings. Is a trade looming?

SF Marvin Williams left practice early today, wincing and holding his back. He has been diagnosed with back spasms and will be listed as day-to-day. He will not dress for tomorrow's game against the Hawks as per Coach Frank's discretion.

Instead, The Nets will start a three guard lineup against Atlanta, with Nate Robinson, Brandon Jennings, and Ray Allen (along with David Lee and Brook Lopez).

Additionally, SF Adam Morrison was recalled from the reserves to fill the void left by Williams.
