    Re: Wojo Rising - CH2K8

Recruiting is starting to look like it will be a lot tougher than I thought...

Here is hoping that the wins keep coming and they make a difference to my 'would-be' players.

Spend most of your focus on instate and regional recruits. Once a school offers that is higher on his list from you, give up because you will end up wasting valuable recruiting points on guys you have no chance at getting. Look for prospects that don't have any offers I always seem to find a highly rated 3* and 4* guy who don't have any offers, sometimes I can offer after the early season and by the end of the year climb to #1.

Remember 2* players ranked can sometimes be better then your current starters as well. I landed a 2* SG that was the Mr BB from Alaska and he ended up being a 69 Overall and had like 82 3pt as a Freshman. He was my leading scorer the next year.

Mosley Struggles, Big Green Hold Tough Against Black Knights
        66 (8-2)
        52 (5-5)

There really isn't a good way to spin Devon Mosley's ice cold game against Army. He was 7/21 from the field and finished with 16 points. While 16 points is a respectable number, Mosley isn't happy about it.

"I let my team down tonight, I was selfishly trying to shoot my way out of a cold night and I am lucky it didn't cost us the win."

Coach Wojo laid into Mosley as he came off the court in the 2nd half. "Where is your head tonight?! It is fine to shoot your way out of a slump, but if you have an open teammate - GIVE HIM THE BALL!"

This must have been regarding Matt Chisick, who managed to score 10 points and grab 9 rebounds as he only shot the ball 6 times all night.

Mosley and Wojo are on good terms, as the coach has stated earlier in the season that Mojo (Mosley's new nickname apparently) is the heart an soul of this team and as he goes, so goes the team.

*Notes* - Robby Pride hit 4 of 6 from long range and scored 12 points.

Also, PG Marlon Sanders had a very solid game with 6 points, 7 assists, 5 steals and only 2 turnovers. He continues to make a case to be paired with Mosley as they other side of the heart of the Big Green.

        Next Game -

        @ Siena (4-6)

So does Coach Wojo slap the floor before every game? And does he have to look up to everyone on the team because he is the shortest ?

lol, i love the little squabble between Mosely and Wojo.

You might have a potent 3-guard offense there with Pride, Mosely, and Sanders! That could give teams fits if they are all on.

This is a good thread, i'm following!

          "Basketball is my favorite sport
I like the way they dribble up and down the court
Just like I'm the King on the microphone so is Dr. J and Moses Malone"

Thanks man! I really appreciate your feedback and comments!

As for slapping the floor... The dude was my hero when I was in junior high... Yes, I slapped the floor when I played defense IRL because I saw Wojo do it. If I could make my players slap the floor in 2K8, they would be doing it as well.

Having 3 guards is nice, but good lord.. having a 7 footer going up against some teams that don't have a player over 6'7" is just hilarious... I really have to hold back on my desires to go Wilt Chamberlain on them and put up 80 a game with Chisick. Granted, he still plays like a freshman at Dartmouth at times too. lol

Wojo Calls Off The Dogs Early, Chisick Showing Signs Of Major Growth
              61 (9-2)
              41 (4-5)

When Matt Chisick took the floor against Siena it was pretty easy to spot the 7-footer. The tallest player on Siena was 6'5"... Needless to say, it was a long day for their post players.

Chisick scored 18 points in the first half as Dartmouth pulled out to a 44-20 lead.

Coach Wojo knew it wasn't the classiest thing to do if he were to leave Chisick in there to dominate, especially AT Siena.

"If we were playing back in Hanover in front of Gang Green (The Dartmouth Student Section) I might have let the boys play. However, we have to do what is best for sake of sportsmanship. We aren't Yates High School, we are in the NCAA and we are representing the Ivy League." - Coach Wojo

Mosley was held to 9 points as he sat the entire second half. He told the press after the game that he "has a new outlook on the season" after seeing his team hold Siena to 21 points in the second half.

"We really have some talented guys on this team. We might not be the best rated players in the country, but we work hard and Coach Wojo has never been on a losing team in his life. I think that has a lot to do with where we are going to end up." - Devon Mosley (Dartmouth, JR SG)

Big Green Holds Tough, Pulls Off First 10 Win Season Since 2005
                62 (10-2)
                54 (4-12)

Harvard really pushed the Big Green to the brink in this game. It was the combination of smart play and tough rebounding by Chisick and Co. that gave Dartmouth the victory.

Chisick had 18 points, 12 rebounds and 3 blocks as Mosley chipped in 15 and Marlon Sanders dished 11 assists and put up 8 points.

The Big Green Face Harvard yet again next week as they hope to open Ivy League play with two straight victories!

Harvard Gives Big Green Toughest Game Yet
                  57 (11-2)
                  53 (4-13)

Once again, the Harvard Crimson made sure to let the Big Green faithful know that the Ivy League won't be a cakewalk for Dartmouth.

After leading 56-46 with 1:13 left, the Big Green turned the ball over 4 times which resulted in 8 straight points and a two-point game with 24 seconds left.

The game was saved by a Matt Chisick block with 6 seconds left on a drive by Harvard PG, Drew Housman.

Chisick scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as he dominated inside and Mosley scored 25 to lead all scorers. Marlon Sanders chipped in 11 assists, but turned the ball over 6 times.

*NOTE* The Big Green will have two out of conference games before continuing their Ivy League schedule.

Thanks! I really enjoy it so far! Although, I can only hope to have mine go for 2+ years like yours.

Only time will tell, but I really like what I have here at Dartmouth.

My problem is not only do I not get to play Hoops, I don't get to play anything..

It was so bad yesterday I went out golfing in the rain and 40 MPH winds.
