    Nicholls State Legacy

I used to play this game (College Hoops 2k8) religiously and I just picked it up for the first time in a while. Really excited to get this legacy going. I am going to simulate all of the games in this closed legacy. I am focusing more on long term success than one season.

    Recruiting
    1. SG Hassan Evtimov (3-star, #280 OVR, #70 SG, 6'4", Fort Worth, Texas)

I only had one scholarship to offer. I was hoping to sign someone better but Evtimov is a good all-around player and the best defender on my team. I was hoping to find a better shooter but the one I was pursuing got snatched up by Pittsburgh.

My first season was very very successful. Finished 3rd in the conference and won the conference tournament. I only graduated one senior so I will have pretty much the same squad next season.

Very good season only to be ruined by my rivals in the first round of the conference tournament. I was the third team out of the NCAA Tournament but got a NIT berth.

Good shooter, especially inside, passing needs improvement, good defender. Will be the 6th man as a freshman.
      4. SG Cyrus Gerlach (3-star, #352 OVR, #100 SG, 6'2", Dallas, Texas)
Great at getting to the basket but three point shooting needs improvement, passing needs improvement as well, great defender. Will be redshirted.

        Interesting idea; I'll be following.

Hopefully, you can make it all the way through year #40. That would be pretty cool.

            Recruiting
            1. PF Odartey Soson (4-star, #100 OVR, #12 PF, 6'7", Houston Texas)
            2. PG Lebo Barnard (3-star, #190 OVR, #71 PG, 6'0", Baytown, Texas)
            3. SG Hal Halsell (3-star, #226 OVR, #61 SG, 6'2", Galveston, Texas)

My recruiting class ranked 48th in the nation. Soson is an excellent scorer who is dominant inside but can also sink the mid-range jumper. He is a good passer and shot blocker but overall his defense needs improvement. He is also a good rebounder and has good potential. Barnard is a good all-around shooter and a great defender and passer. He also has good potential. Halsell is a good inside scorer who needs to work on his mid range jumper, he is an okay three point shooter. Great defender and very fast but he does not have much potential. Soson has been redshirted since senior Joshua Johnson is starting at PF. Halsell has also been redshirted due to my depth at SG. Barnard will get good minutes as my back up PG.

            Transfers
            1. PG John Roberson transfered to Nicholls State from Texas Tech. The 5'11" point guard from Houston will be a key to this team once he is eligible.

Wow you had way better success in year 1 with Nicholas State then you did with Sacremento State. 20 wins and a NCAA berth. Season 2 wasn't to bad either. Getting a win in the NIT even if it was Chicago State and it looks like you are off to a solid start in year 3.

I would've though that recruiting in Cali would be easier then Louisina but so far you have done a exceptional job landing solid 3* prospects your first 2 years. Looks like your coach must of some ties to the New Zealand/Austraila area.

Good luck the rest of the way out.

If you plan on staying at Nicholls State for all 40 years you might want to consider putting some restrictions on recruiting to nothing but 3* prospects or maybe 1 4* guy and after he graduates then try for a 5* guy. If you load up your roster with to many highly rated players you will end up dominating the conference year in and year out.

Then again that might be what you want.

Huge Pre-Season NIT wins made me think it would be a good year. Guess I was wrong. Finished 6th in conference and went out in the first round again, ugh.

I am so close to Texas, it's my pipeline. Louisiana does not have that many recruits and all of the good ones get snatched up by big conference schools. I look forward to the point where I consistently sign the Mr. Basketball from Louisiana.

Not gonna use any restrictions. My goal is to win as much as possible, an undefeated season would be one of my ultimate goals.

Really looking forward to this season. Very solid line up, lead by the transfer from Texas Tech, Point Guard John Roberson........

Turned out to be a great season before the Conference Championship. What a bummer. Roberson got drafted, he was a projected second round pick.

                    1. PG Deron Nahra (4-star, 6'2", #48 OVR, #24 PG, Houston, Texas)
                    2. PF Esteban Bradley (3-star, 6'8", #287 OVR, #49 PF, Corpus Christi, Texas)
                    3. SF Stephen Lang (3-star, 6'7", New Zealand)

My class ranked 39th in the nation. Nahra is a great three point shooter, an excellent defender and a very good passer. He is a very good all around point guard. I will redshirt him since it is McCroskey's senior year. Nahra is going to be huge in the coming years. Bradley is a good inside scorer but his defense and passing needs improvement. He is a great rebounder. He will most likely ride the bench for four years. Lang is a good all around shooter and an average passer and defender.

28-3 and I miss the tournament. Again, another stupid loss in the conference tournament, that is getting really annoying.

My class ranked 44th in the nation. Bigby was Arkansas's Mr. Basketball, he is an excellent all-around player and I am very excited to see him develop over the next four years. Kovacevic is a great shooter and a pretty good defender. He will start as a freshman. Todd is pretty similar to Kovacevic but he is not as good of a shooter. He will be redshirted.

I have a very good young team this year, hoping for a breakout year. Keeping Louisville that close was great and beating Florida State was a real confidence booster. Slipped up twice in conference play but oh well. The Conference Championship game against Texas A&M CC had me going nuts. My star Power Forward and team leader, Odartey Soson got injured in the semifinals so I was worried about this game. I simmed it on hoopscast and I was losing the whole game. In the last few minutes we just mounted an amazing comeback.

I think I should have gotten a better seed than 12. Without Soson I did not really stand a chance against South Carolina. I only graduate one senior, next year is gonna be huge. Hal Halsell left the team due to lack of playing time, he transfered to Florida Gulf Coast.

Any chance you can add Coach Berger Overall Record.

Have you considered playing any of the games, like maybe the conference tourney and NCAA tourney if you make it.

Added it to the front page. I am going to reformat this entire thing tonight or tomorrow.

I don't think I am gonna play any games. After I finish this legacy I will start another one where I play every game.
