I agree, especially since it was the CPU that did it (yeah really).

I hope not. Like I said, W&M was very tough to beat the prior time I played them. Add in my team's inability to hit wide open 3s and jumpers and I had a true mess on my hands.

    Next up, Delaware.

      A Class By Themselves

In the game of the CAA season, Delaware traved to Philadelphia to take on the undefeated Dragons. In their only other meeting this season, the Dragons managed to overcome a halftime deficit to crush the Blue Hens in the 2nd half by 15. But with defensive stalwart Josh Payton out, and with the Dragons showing some recent vulnerability, anything is possible. Especially when the Blue Hens, whose loss to Drexel spurred them to a 7 game winning streak in the conference, look to solidify their hold on the #2 spot in the CAA.

But tonight the home court belong to the Drexel Dragons. Sure, the Dragons continued to have shooting woes all night, especially from long range. Sure, the Blue Hens were able to chip away at the Dragons from range. But credit Duncan Sow and Femi Ramsey for completely disrupting Delaware's offense any time they tried to go anywhere near the basket. The two combined for 9 blocks and forced the Blue Hens to adjust shot after shot after shot.

The Blue Hens hung tough, but they were outclassed, and more specifically, out sized, by the behemoths on the Drexel squad. Coach West still has plenty to work out with his team's current shooting funk, but tonight his team scored another win by a final score of 76-66.

Coach's Take: We have got a lot to work on going forward. Delaware brought out a fight today, and we were up to the challenge. But that's the most important thing our team has to remember: the remainder of the season is a series of challenges. Each one different from the last. And soon enough, if we fall asleep at the wheel, our year is going to be done. I believe we have great things left to do.

        Final 2015 Standings

As the calendar rolls to March, the conference schedule ends and conference tournament season comes into focus. Old Dominion made a late charge at the end of the season to move into the #3 ranking in the standings, but Drexel remains the team to beat after finishing perfect both in and outside of conference play. A true achievement for the Dragons to be sure, but something tells me Drexel is not going to rest on their laurels here.

                2015 Tournament

                First Round
                #8 James Madison 68 #9 Northeastern 80
                #5 Towson 69 #12 William & Mary 41
                #6 Hofstra 86 #11 UNC Wilmington 72
                #7 VCU 63 #10 Georgia State 58

Hofstra halted their fade down the stretch by pulling away in the 2nd half against the lowly UNC Wilmington Seahawks after losing their previous 5 games. As a whole, the first slate of results were not too surprising. Northeastern, Townson, and VCU all won their respective season series against their opponent. However, with the CAA being so top heavy this year there is plenty of doubt about whether any of the Day 1 winners can make a deep run.

                Quarterfinals
                #5 Towson 79 #4 George Mason 74
                #6 Hofstra 60 #3 Old Dominion 68
                #7 VCU 51 #2 Delaware 63

Today's games started with the minor upset of Towson overcoming George Mason after being up big at the half. Otherwise, the higher seeds proved their mettle. Delaware went wire to wire against the VCU Rams, and Old Dominion out shot Hofstra in the second half to claim victory. Now only one game remains. The national spotlight falls on Drexel as they look to continue their perfect run through the season against the young, scrappy Northeastern Huskies.

                #1 Drexel vs #9 Northeastern

Could two teams be any further apart? In their only meeting of the season, Drexel toyed with Northeastern and beat them on all parts of the floor at all phases of the game.

But it wasn't anything like tonight. Northeastern scored the first basket of the game. Drexel helped themselves to the next 22 points.

The dynamic shifted early when Tyrone Bojang, Northeastern's best big man, got into foul trouble early. He was never able to stay on the court, and without him the Husky defense collapsed. Drexel showed they had a few extra gears and put on a fantastic scoring display. Probably the most impressive stat was Drexel's 27 total assists. The ball was moving constantly, and it did not take long for the team to find open shots around Northeastern's 2-3 zone. Add in Drexel doubling Northeastern's free throw attempts plus tripling Northeastern's free throw makes, and the result is a tough night for the young Huskies.

There may not be much to take away from such a lopsided 96-51 victory by the top seeded Dragons. However, the play of Coach West's bench bodes well for the rest of the tournament season. Josh Payton logged in the most minutes he has played since his injury a few weeks ago, and it looks like the Senior captain should be back in the starting lineup soon.

Tonight's rest for the starters should serve the Dragons well in the CAA Semi-Finals, where they will face physical #5 seed Towson.

Coach's Take: Our players have been here before. We understand that we're going to get everyone's best shot. That's what we've been getting all season long. We've been preparing for March all season, and everyone is ready to elevate their game.

Jamie Oswig (CBS Sports.com): But do you feel, given the difference in talent between your team and Northeastern, that you ran up the score in the second half?

Coach West: I don't want the men at Northeastern to feel bad. They've had a successful tournament and can learn from this. But they were in our way, and we weren't going to play nice. And even though our bench guys played most of the second half, I don't want anyone on the depth chart to throttle back at the end of one game and have it affect our team when the games get closer.

                  2015 Tournament

                  Semifinals
                  #3 Old Dominion 60 #2 Delaware 71

Delaware advances to the title game after building a large first half lead against the Monarchs. Although Old Dominion attempted to make a game out of it behind the three point line in the 2nd half, Delaware had answers down the stretch and will have a shot at the CAA crown. In case there was any doubt, this win should also solidify Delaware's place in the NCAA Tournament, where the Blue Hens were projected as a #11 seed at the beginning of March.

                  #1 Drexel vs #5 Towson

For the second year in a row, the Drexel Dragons faced the Towson Tigers in the CAA Conference Tournament Semifinals. For the second year in a row, the Tigers were sent packing.

Once again Coach West's squad showed its offensive prowess, seemingly returning to early season form after it looked like the team took a step back offensively in conference play. The Tigers were clearly overmatched. Edwin Okpwae never could establish his presence in the middle, and Josh Payton's perfect first half in his first start since January helped catapult the Dragons to a 16 point lead.

Probably the most impressive was Drexel's ability to clog the lane. Any time Towson attacked the basket, Drexel was there and seemed to know just when shots were heading into the air. Femi Ramsey particularly dominated on defense with 6 blocks and nearly countless adjusted shots and layups.

In other words, the Dragons looked just as efficient in kicking Towson to the curb as they did crushing Northeastern yesterday. Although they have run through the entire season undefeated, tonight looked like the Dragons could be peaking at just the right time.

Of course, they will face a stiff test against Delaware in the Tournament Final. The Dragons defeated the Blue Hens in their two previous meetings, but that doesn't mean tomorrow's result is automatic. But if Drexel can keep up the form it showed in its 91-67 victory tonight, who knows if Delaware can keep up.

                    2015 Tournament Final

                    #1 Drexel vs #2 Delaware

A coronation. A perfect record. A gigantic first half lead. For Drexel is was a matter of third-game-same-as-the-first. And then it wasn't.

For the third game in a row, Drexel was beginning to throttle back its starters and get its reserves on the floor. Their lead had ballooned as high as 20 during the first half, and there was not much need to keep the starters on the floor with a dominant 10-0 run to start the 2nd half. To all observers, Drexel had this one in the bag and some Delaware supporters were even beginning to leave the stands.

But down 23 points, the Blue Hens showed they had plenty of fight left. After being pushed around twice earlier this season, they turned their game up to another level. It all started with Brian Frisby, who was held to only 2 points during the first half. Delaware began to attack the the basket and mount a comeback in the most time efficient way possible: at the foul line. Everyone was in on the act, and at just the right time the Dragons got lax on defense and began giving the Blue Hens open shots from beyond the arc.

The lead was quickly whittled back down to 13. By the time Coach West scrambled his starters back onto the floor, the lead had slipped all the way down to 6.

Delaware would continue to push, but Drexel's move to man-to-man derailed their offensive efficiency. They were no longer on fire, but the Blue Hens still had the momentum and were still succeeding at getting to the line. The Dragons tried to slow down the game but once again struggled completing their half-court sets -- which often ended with Perry McCarthy clanging another uncontested three off the rim.

Fortunately for the Dragons, their entire game was not out of synch. And despite Delaware getting back into the game while West's bench was on the floor, Drexel ended up getting more production out of its second unit. No play was bigger than Woody Morandais' driving layup with 50 seconds to go with Drexel clinging to a 1 point lead. Not only did it extend the lead to three, but Morandais was fouled on the way up and nailed the free throw.

Down four, Delaware took its last time out and immediately went to the hot hand, Frisby, to try and cut the lead in half. But he could not contend with Tracy Cottrill, who once upon a time was suspect on defense but today used his huge, 7' frame to keep Frisby from getting any ground in the paint. Instead the Delaware big man opted for a fade-away jumper, not something in his usual repertoire, and missed the shot badly.

Perry McCarthy hit both ends of the one-and-one once Delaware fouled into the penalty, and the six point lead would stand as time expired. The Drexel Dragons were nearly toppled, but this would not be the day. Instead, they pulled themselves together just in time to win the CAA by a final score of 82-76.

Coach's Take: I have to start by congratulating our team for winning the CAA two years in a row and for Delaware putting up such a valiant comeback. But I can't be content because we slipped. We nearly lost control of this game. Unacceptable. We have had the right level of focus and intensity all week, but Delaware is a great team that I bet can make some noise in the NCAAs. We can't just rest on our laurels and let people rain victory on us. I'm glad we were able to show poise and get the win. But the CAA is not our only goal this year -- this is not the time to falter or step out of line. Tonight we can celebrate this Championship. But in the coming weeks we have to stay focused on a much bigger prize.

Congrats on winning the Colonial tournament. Almost blew an incredibly large lead against Delaware though. Hope you get that fixed by tournament time.

Thanks. And yeah, my offense had been so efficient and then just died. Missed a lot of open jumpers in the 2nd half as well. Hopefully I don't hit a cold patch like that in the coming weeks.

Thanks. I'd say 32-0 is quite a feat, especially given that I switched to MOP and have been ramping up my sliders as the latter half of the season. I had a few scares along the way, but my team has shown they can make clutch plays when the game is on the line.

My goal going into the season was to break into the Final Four. Having a perfect season on top of it is gravy, but it's going to be a tough road going forward.

                              2015 #1 Seeds

With the season completed and bracket speculation abound, the Committee is ready to announce this year's number one seeds. And unlike last year, there will not be a lot of controversy with the Committee's selection. Well, not unless you're from the state of Missouri.

Despite being ranked #2 in the Associated Press Top 25, Kansas scores the top #1 seed based on their championship season in the Big 12. The Jayhawks will play in the Eastern bracket. Drexel earns the top spot in the Southern bracket after showing last year's Elite 8 run was not a fluke, but instead a start. The undefeated Dragons were no slouches in non-conference play, but they still expected by many to be the first #1 Seed eliminated even before the final bracket are released.

Louisville earns the third #1 seed despite losing to Seton Hall in the Big East semi-final. Rick Pitino's squad is star studded and are looking to bounce back from the loss to a deep tournament run from the Midwest bracket. The final #1 seed goes to Ohio State. The Buckeyes started the season strong and won the Conference Tournament in March. But they were consistently ranked behind Missouri before the Tigers slipped in February. Although Ohio State finished the season ranked #5, they have the talent to match any of the other #1 seeds and deserve their top spot in the West bracket.

With a few final wrinkles to hammer out, word is that it should not be long before the Committee is ready to reveal the bracket and put the Madness back in March for another exciting Tournament.

                                RPI Top 25

This season has been defined by those on top of the rankings doing everything they can to stay on top. Yes, there are upstart teams this season like Marshall, Drexel, and Utah State. But once they climbed the mountain, they didn't do anything to knock themselves off. However, there has been a lot of movement lower in the rankings, and that could create some intrigue once the brackets are released.

NC State and Seton Hall both continue their charge up the rankings after each pulled off a number of upsets to win the ACC and Big East. Meanwhile, Houston continues to baffle critics by doing so well in conference play but losing big in its Conference Tournament final. Arizona has to be on a number of people's radar after reaching the PAC-10 final before being stunned by Stanford. Even though they didn't win it all, the way they crushed their opponents up to that point could mean big things are in store for the NCAAs. Finally, it will be interesting to see where the Committee places Oklahoma State. The Cowboys did fantastic in Conference play, but they have a large number of bad losses as well from early in the year. With the Committee look past their early troubles as growing pains, or will it come back to bite them?

Speaking of creating one's own misery, many of the teams on this year's bubble are on the list by their own devices. Oregon, LSU, and Xavier all squandered strong starts to the season with terrible performances in February. Oregon was by far the most egregious going 3-7 to end the season including getting knocked out of their first game in the PAC-10 Tournament. Meanwhile, Richmond, Missouri State and UC Riverside each did very well out of conference and each have some marquee upsets. But the question now is whether the committee will penalize them for bloating their record in smaller conference play. Each of these teams will be watching Selection Sunday in great anticipation. I'm sure they all would prefer to play in the NCAA Tournament instead of the NIT.
