"Our offense was clicking tonight. In fact, I don't think I've ever had a team record 25 assists in a single game. Unfortunately, we didn't come out of this game unscathed. Kenny Thomas pulled his hamstring today and he'll most likely miss a few games. However, Martell McDuffy did a good job of picking up the slack and he'll start in Kenny's place.

A game we are going to look back on and think we should've won. Too many missed opportunties down the stretch to put the game away. One thing that cost us in this game was our inability to get to the free throw line. We're simply settling for far too many jump shots.

Quality opponents and our offense just hasn't looked the same since Kenny Thomas went out of the lineup. Luckily for us, get him back for our next game. Unfortunately, it's against Devan Downey and the South Carolina Gamecocks.

If we could've had one more player step up, what this game could have been. It was good to have Kenny Thomas back out there, but he's not quite game shape as his poor shooting performance tonight dictated. One of my graduate assistants who is a former player told me tonight he saw "the look". Apparently throughout the years, my players have learned when to expect a major butt ripping. A bad shooting night, I can handle. It happens. But a night where we had no hustle, no effort on the defensive end, and absolutely ZERO effort on the glass...it makes my blood boil. No excuse to get blitzed on the glass like we did tonight. It's a shame we have a travel day and then another conference game. After a zero energy performance like we had tonight, we should have plenty of energy for some extra running. But, we have a bus trip tonight.

It's good to get back into the win column. We got two very efficient performances tonight from Kenny Thomas and Jamar Jenkins. If those two are going, our chances to win go up. We proved tonight that we can win the ugly contests. It counts the same as any other game, but we won't survive too many slugfests like that. Got a tremendous contribution off the bench from freshman Chris McEachin. Very good timing on his part considering Kenny Thomas struggled again tonight. Once again, our defense is bailing us out of games. It's not our shooting, believe me. I'm very disappointed in our offense at this point in the year.

Give our guys credit. When the other team has a physically dominating speciman like Kenny George on the inside, you're almost scared to mix it up. But we outworked them down low and was able to grab the rebounding edge. Yeah, he got his. But we didn't let him kill us down low. When someone is as big and slow as he is, you send guards to harass him like little gnats and they did their jobs well. We're off to a good start on the conference slate. Now we just need to keep it up.

Huge win for us tonight. We didn't give up even though our shots weren't really falling. Defense came up huge again tonight. It's the one thing we have been able to lean on consistently. If we could get our offense going, we just might be unstoppable. Not bad for a team picked to finish last in the conference.

I always like games where I can empty the bench. It generally means something went right. This was the most at ease our offense has looked all season. The thing I enjoyed was the fact that we did most of our damage from inside the arc. When we shoot a good percentage, it allows us to set up our press and speed the game up, something we really haven't been able to do consistently this season. And our press really disrupted the best playmaker in the conference tonight.

We came in with the gameplan that their three point bombers were not going to kill us and we got right up in their grills and it worked to perfection in the first half. VMI made an adjustment in the second half, but we were able to play them even. Once again, we made an effort to get to the free throw line more...but man, we got to start hitting them.
