Hey guys, here is my players who are on the trading block. I'm not sure if I post it here, or not.

              On the Trading block:
              Austin Daye
              Charlie V
              Jason Maxiell
              Will Bynum
              Kim English

I would maybe trade Andre Drummond, But I doubt it. Because hes one of my favorite players out of the draft.

                Re: 30 Team Interactive Association

Guys I'm out of town until Saturday, but I can be on the forums. One thing though is that the internet they have won't let me open the file. I'll get it Saturady night. So when I get home I'll be very active. Btw Tristian Thompson is on the block, no idea how good he is on this roster though. I can't wait to see it. Can someone tell me the kind of things in the packet so I won't have to stuggle to do things quickly and get caught up.

                    Re: 30 Team Interactive Association

Hey everybody! Glad to see that all of the packets have been successfully received. I just wanted to fairly quickly make a few notes:

                    - This morning when I opened up the trade window (6am PST) was also the official closing of the window for real life transactions to be included in your roster. From here on out it's up to you.

                    - In your packet under the contracts tab you will see a box that reads "Tax With Penalties". For the most part the car drives itself as far as finance totals go but you will be need to manually update this box yourself. For the 2012-2013 season tax is calculated on a $1/$1 basis so if you are over the tax then simply multiply the "Luxury Tax Room" box by two and place the answer into the "Tax With Penalties" box. Please note, the number that is placed in there when you received your packet is the correct number.

                    - You will be responsible for updating the information in your packet. Wholesale changes, such as each year's draft class, will be posted here in the thread but minor tweaks such as new contracts will be your responsibility. Keep in mind that I will be updating my master copy with each move to keep things accurate.

                    - Negotiating with free agents can be done by sending a private message to me. Simply include the names that you are interested in and we can start negotiations. If there is any info that you want to know then be sure to ask that first, otherwise you can either shoot me a contract offer to get us started or ask me what the player is looking to make.

                    - I will be making frequent rumor posts during the offseason so keep an eye on those as they may include information about your team or free agents that you are interested in.

                    - Please try to keep trading block info and contract requests in PMs to your peers and me. It's not the end of the world but you definitely gain an advantage by keeping those kinds of things private.

                    - I will not be releasing the ratings for any players, including incoming rookies. That being said, revealing what roster I am using would be pretty much defeat the purpose. Suffice to say that I am using the best roster I have ever used in the 2k game with some tweaks of my own thrown in here and there. I also have a complex system that I use to rate incoming rookies fairly. You're just going to have to trust me on that one.

                    - You are responsible for throwing minutes my way so that I can log the rotations into the game. preseason minutes for starters, but I will make a post letting you know when I need to start receiving those and that time has not quite arrived.

                    - Most importatntly: Please check over your team rosters to make sure that I didn't miss anything! I had a whole lot of information to dig up for these and I am sure that there are mistakes. Just shoot me a PM an we can fix it.

EDIT: Also, a good way to get the info out that players are on the block would be to leak the info to me. I will include it into the rumors posts here in the thread. That being said, it's great to see everybody already so active!

                    Cheers everybody!

I am sure this is because I haven't read it in the plethora of info provided......but I just wanted to ask a couple of simple questions.

How exactly do I "negotiate" and agree on deals with free agents? and within that, can we make offers to restricted free agents on other teams......if so, how the F would that work?

I am just sitting here thinking = "Crap, I need to resign Dom McGuire and Brandon Rush.......errr, how?"

Trades are obviously simple enough because I would be dealing with another manager, ie: talking to a human via PM.......but negotiating with free agents? who are we talking to there?

"Yes Mr Rush.......I will offer you 1 American dollar for your services!..........*ACCEPTED*"

Lol, I will reply to this and make a few other notes.

Negotiating with free agents is a function that you will do with me. Think of me as a player agent and commissioner. This is exactly why it was so important for us to be operating with all 30 team's under user control. This way, regardless of how unbiased I think that I am, the system runs the best that it can possibly run.

                        Other important notes:

-The salaries that you see on your rosters highlighted in blue are NOT players on your roster, but cap hold for free agents. If you clock on the link to Larry Coon's salary cap FAQ in your primer you can look up cap holds in the index but suffice to say that when a player enters free agency there is a cap hold placed on your team to prevent salary cap tomfoolery.

If order to remove a cap hold you must renounce that free agent. This does not come without consequences, however, as you lose all bird rights to that player. A renounced player still may be re-signed or signed-and-traded, however.

                        - The unsigned players at the bottom of your page are players whom you hold the rights to but are not currently under contract. These may be either unsigned second rounders or stashed Euro players. Each stashed Euro has a number of years before he may come over to the NBA and I have that information if you need it. The second round picks must be negotiated with as under the new CBA second rounders are no longer guaranteed contracts.

                        - Keep in mind when negotiating trades that, as they say, "a bird in hand is better than two in the bush (or whatever haha)". Think about how hard it is to pull off a trade the real life. Hold out for the best possible deal for your team and keep in mind the potential consequences! Keep in mind that free agents like job security and I will keep your transaction history in mind when negotiating for free agents so mind your league-wide reputation.

                        - The amnesty window has closed and will not open again until next offseason. I am sorry if your teams did not amnesty the player that you wanted to yet.
