Re: 2k13 Cleveland Cavaliers - Rise up and Rebuild

Early Short List of Free Agents

Here are a few 2015 Free Agents... There will be more Free Agents posted at a later date when I post my Top 10 FA at each position, but, these players listed here are just players that "Won't Re-sign" or players that just want to Explore Free Agency...

      * denotes "restricted FA"

      PF - Carlos Boozer (76)
Boozer is not happy with his Role in Chicago these days.
With the emergence of Taj Gibson, Boozer has seen his
minutes decrease over the last few years.

      C - Anderson Varejao (69)
Fresh off his 1st NBA Title, Andy is looking for 1 last payday.
He averaged over 10 rebounds per game in the Finals
vs the Lakers. At 34 years old, I'm not sure what type of "payday"
      he'll receive though.

      PG - Kyrie Irving (94)*
Kyrie helped lead the Cavs to the NBA Title and now
for some reason, he's exploring the Free Agent Market.
He is a restricted FA, so, a team will have to pay him more than $9m per
to acquire him from the Cavaliers.

      C - DeAndre Jordan (80)
DeAndre's minute have gone down ever so slightly since
the acquisition of PF Paul Milsap at the 2014 trade deadline.
DeAndre is looking for a big payday on the open market.

      C - Enes Kanter (78)*
Kanter is a franchise big man, and the Jazz wont let him
walk without a fight. His role didn't make him happy last year
coming off the bench behind Derrick Favors and Al Jefferson.
Big Al isn't getting any younger, so, if the Jazz keep Kanter,
he could be on the move.

      SG - Alec Burks (77)*
Burks hasn't seen as much playing time as he'd like to see
in his first couple years in the league. With the addition of
PG Eric Bledsoe and the emergence of SG Gordon Hayward and
SF Deshaun Thomas, it doesn't look like Burks will find the starting
lineup any time soon in Utah.

      SG - Marcus Thorton (80)
Thorton has been arguably the Kings best scorer since he's arrived
in Sacramento. He's an unrestricted FA this off-season and
the Kings are going to have to pay big for his services.
They've got the money, but, time will tell if they're will to invest
a large chunck of it in Marcus

      PG - Jimmer Fredette (77)
Jimmer was one of the most prolific scorers in NCAA history,
but, in the NBA so far, he has yet to average over 10 points per game.
Largely due to the fact that he can't stay on the floor
long enough to make a large contribution. He's just not a well
polished point guard. He'd be a perfect fit on a team as a
spark plug scorer off the bench, ala Jamal Crawford.

      SG - Iman Shumpert (88)*
Shumpert looks like a budding star in the NBA. Apparently he's
been informed that being a star in New York City
is a bad thing? He's going to explore the FA Market, but, the
Knicks will have the final say as he's a restricted Free Agent

      PF - Amare Stoudemire (83)
Stoudemire, who was once one of the brightest stars in the league,
didn't come through on his promise when he signed with the Knicks when
he said "The Knicks are Back"... Not exactly Amare, now, your old,
and you've been a salary cap nightmare as the Knicks have
been trying to rebuild for the past couple years. Look for
Amare to head back out west, possibly back to Phoenix where
his career really flourished in their uptempo system in his early days.

      SG - Marshon Brooks (78)*
Brooks is a restricted FA this off-season and I'm not sure
if there is a team out there that is willing to give him big money
just yet. Brooks has been a solid bench player for the Nets, and
its no secret that Joe Johnson is getting older, and, at
this stage in his career he's vastly over-paid. Brooks could and should
be the future starting SG for the Nets, if he decides to stick around.
It wont be his decision ultimately though as the Nets have final say
      since he's a restricted FA

      PF - Chris Bosh (86)
Bosh spent one year in "The D" and played pretty well. He quickly realized
however, that the current Piston team wasn't ready to compete
for an NBA Championship. So, like he, and so many others before him
he put on his running shoes and is now chasing another championship.
Where will he land? who knows, but, it will probably be a team
that is on the cusp of an NBA Title.

      PF - Ed Davis (82)
By all accounts, Ed Davis is a budding star in the league
and he'll be looking to cash in on that assumption this summer.
He's an unrestricted FA and he'll be free to sign where-ever he desires.

      PG - Jeremy Lin (84)
Jeremy Lin was the talk of the NBA just a few years ago.
He turned that hype into a pretty good payday in his
Free Agent deal with the Rockets, but, since then
"Linsanity" has reached an all time low. As it turns out, being in
the Meca of Media, New York City, has it perks and Lin has
been very quite since his departure from the Big Apple.
He'll look to rekindle some of that buzz this off-season but,
the question is, who is going to go after him?

      SF - Chandler Parsons (82)
Parsons, who was once one of the Rockets untouchable assets
find himself in a tough situation. He's clearly got talent and can
start for nearly any team in the NBA. He's projected to be a
20 ppg scorer if he's given the chance, however, in Houston,
they've got a young kid name Tony Mitchell the #6 overall pick in 2013
from North Texas who is the complete package and is forcing
the hand of management. Parsons is unrestricted, so, he can
sign where-ever he'd like if he feels like he's not going to get
the playing time he needs in Houston.

      PG - Ricky Rubio (93)*
Rubio has been great since coming to the T'Wolves. He led them
to the #1 seed in the Western Conference in 2012, only to be upset
by the Spurs in round 1. The next year, he led them all Western Finals.
Its looking like the window is closing in on the T'Wolves however,
and Ricky is realizing he may need to go elsewhere to compete
for a Championship. He's a restricted Free Agent, so, someone is
going to have to back up the brinks truck to pry him away
      from Minnesota.

      PF - LaMarcus Aldridge (88)
The biggest off-season in Blazers history starts now, as, not 1 but
2 of their bright young stars are hitting the Free Agent market.
PF LaMarcus Aldridge, who has been the face of the franchise
since he was drafted is looking to get paid, and paid
in a big way. To this point, he has earned every penny
that he'll get on the open market... The Blazers have plenty
of money to resign him, and with Damian Lillard locked up for
awhile, I think it would be wise for him to return.

      SG - Wesley Matthews (85)
Matthews has become one of the best young SG's in the League
and the Blazers are going to have a tough decision to make as
both He and Aldridge are entering Free Agency... They should be able to
retain both players, but, if they both want Max Contracts thats not
going to be possible. So, in essence, if they want to continue
to play together they are going to have to take
slightly less money per year to do so... Knowing they already have
Damian Lillard, if they can retain Mattews and Aldridge,
they should be a force for years to come in the
Western Conference for years to come.

      ---
      ---

      That's all for now fellas...

Stay tuned for a full Free Agency Preview where I'll break down the
Top 10 players position by position.
