        2015 NBA PLayoffs

        EASTERN CONFERENCE FINALS

        (1) Cavaliers (60-22)
        vs
        (2) 76ers (49-33)

        Cavs lose Game 1 -

Kyrie struggles in Game 1 vs Philly

        **GAME 1** - 107-101 76ers win (1-0)
        - Thaddeus Young - 31 points - 6 reb
        - Jrue Holiday - 18 points - 6 reb - 8 ast
        - LeBron James - 34 points - 6 reb - 2 ast - 3 stl
        - Kyrie Irving - 11 points - 8 reb - 10 ast - 5/15 fg - 1/6 3pt

        - Kyrie Irving struggled mightily in Game 1 as the Sixers stole home court advantage from the Cavaliers with a 107-101 victory... Sixers Power Forward Thaddeus Young was a monster all game, putting in 31 points and grabbing 6 rebounds... The Cavaliers simply didn't have an answer for him all game long...

There is a saying in the NBA, that, A series doesn't start until someone wins on the road, well, consider this Eastern Conference Finals Series officially underway... The Cavaliers are going to have to regroup quickly in Game 2, as their chances of advancing to the NBA Finals become even slimmer if they lose the first two games of a series at home...

          vs
          (4) LA Lakers (47-35)

Nuggets out-run Lakers in Game 1

Danilo Gallinari came up huge in Game 1 for the Nuggets

          **GAME 1** - 118-79 Nuggets win (1-0)
          - Danilo Gallinari - 25 points - 9 reb - 7 ast
          - Ty Lawson - 17 points - 7 reb - 9 ast
          - Dwight Howard - 17 points - 11 reb - 3 blk
          - Roger Fox - 14 points - 6 reb - 2 ast - 2 stl - 2 blk
          - Kobe Bryant - 12 points - 1 reb - 7 ast - 5/16 fg - 1/6 3pt

          - After averaging nearly 30 points per game in the last Series, Kobe Bryant seemed to be defying all odds as the 37 year old wasn't showing any signs of being, 37 years old... Well, in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals, Kobe looked, well, tired... His jumper was flat and he simply couldn't keep up on Defense with the uptempo Nuggets... Kobe struggled all game long and only scored 12 points on 5 of 16 shooting...

Nuggets SF Danilo Gallinari on the other hand was on fire, putting in 25 points, grabbing 7 rebounds and dishing out 9 assists... Ty Lawson had a great game also and the Nuggets look like the better, younger team in Game 1... The Lakers need to figure out how to slow this team down or its going to be a quick series...

I have spent the last 3 days following this Association and I'm very satisfied. Great job on turning the Cavs into a playoff monster! I really expect them to overcome the Sixers and join the Nuggets in the Finals. Hopefully Ty, Iggy and Gallo will run over Kobe, D12 and Fox...

I'm unhappy about my Celtics, though... They fell to the bottom of the pack, they'll need much more than just Rondo to climb back... Maybe Jeremy Lamb is a good call, if you can find the right trade pieces...? I used to run a Boston association with Rondo, Lamb, Gay, Thompson and Sullinger, the team was simply perfect...

            Keep up the great work!

Thanks for the kind words. I love when people take a few minutes to post a couple comments.

Yeah, sorry about your C's... They've been struggling with the rebuild but I think they've got a few really good young players.. Green, Poythress, Bradley and Williams should progress nicely for them... Also, they've got the #5 pick in last years draft on the Bench, in a 6th man role SG Mike Fordham... He's sort of a Avery Bradley type, great defense, not a great scorer but he's young and his ceiling is high...

I'm into Game 4 of the Conference Finals now... I will be posting a Game 2 updates and possibly Game 3 updates tonight.

              Thanks again for the follow.

Cavs bounce back, win Game 2 -

                  Wild Thing inspires Cavs win

                  - After giving away home court advantage with the loss in Game 1, the Cavaliers came out with a fury in Game 2, jumping out to a 30-18 first quarter lead and never looking back... The Cavaliers led coast to coast in this one and evened the series up at 1-1 heading back to Philly for games 3 and 4...

Kyrie Irving struggled again, only scoring 15 points, but he was able to dish out 8 assists and play pretty good defense on Jrue Holiday... Kyrie was off with his shot, but, Shabazz Muhammad was not... Muhammad has a knack for getting hot and staying hot and he did just that in the 2nd half of this game... He scored 27 of his 29 points in the 2nd half and really picked up the pace offensively for the Cavs... LeBron was his usual MVP Self, with 27 points, 6 boards and 7 assists...

                  **GAME 2** - 109-96 Cavs win (1-1)
                  - Shabazz Muhammad - 29 points - 4 reb - 5 ast
                  - LeBron James - 27 points - 6 reb - 7 ast
                  - Kyrie Irving - 15 points - 6 reb - 8 ast
                  - Jrue Holiday - 25 points - 3 reb - 10 ast
                  - Andrew Bynum - 14 points - 10 reb - 3 ast - 2 blk

                    2015 PLAYOFFS

                    WESTERN CONFERENCE FINALS

                    (2) Denver Nuggets (51-31)
                    vs
                    (4) LA Lakers (47-35)

Nuggets hold court in Game 2

Kobe struggles in Game 2 loss to Denver.

                    **GAME 2** - 111-96 Nuggets win (2-0)
                    - Ty Lawson - 23 points - 6 reb - 10 ast - 3 stl
                    - Javale McGee - 18 points - 11 reb - 2 blk
                    - Dwight Howard - 23 points - 4 reb
                    - Kobe Bryant - 21 points - 3 reb - 1 ast

                    - Game 1 was a blowout win for the Nuggets and Game 2 wasn't much better for Laker fans as the Nuggets came away with another double digit victory to take a 2-0 series lead... The game was more competitive than Game 1, but in the end the Lakers just didn't have enough to overtake the young Nuggets...

Ty Lawson had a great game, 23 points, 10 assists and he had the Nuggets Offense clicking on all cylinders... Javale McGee was huge with 18 points and 11 rebounds and somewhat containing Dwight Howard, holding him to 23 points, but, more importantly, only 4 rebounds... Kobe had an off night, for his standards, only 21 points on 7/24 shooting...

Game 3 will be in LA where the Lakers are always tough to beat... At this point, I'm not sure if the location really matters because the Nuggets just seem like far and away the better team...

Cavs win thriller in Game 3 -

Kyrie goes 'uncle drew' on Sixers in Game 3

                      - Kyrie struggled in Games 1 and 2 but in Game 3 he went absolutely bananas vs Philly scoring 46 points and dishing out 9 assists.. LeBron has his typical "LeBron" game, scoring 29 points and grabbing 6 rebounds but it was Kyrie Irving who stole the show in this one...

Entering the 4th quarter, the Cavs were down by two points... Knowing he couldn't let his team go down 2-1 in the Series, Irving simply took the game over, scoring 24 of his 46 points in the fourth quarter... At one point in the quarter he scored 20 points in a row for the Cavaliers... Kyrie's performance brought back fond memories of LeBron and his Cavs in 2007 vs the Detroit Pistons...

It was an image that was familiar to Cavaliers fans, as, it resembled the amazing performance LeBron James put together vs the Detroit Pistons in LeBron 1.0 when LeBron scored 27 consecutive points in Game 5 of that East Final...

                      **GAME 3** - 116-104 Cavs win (2-1)
                      - Kyrie Irving - 46 points - 2 reb - 9 ast - 3 stl - 24 points in 4th qrt
                      - LeBron James - 29 points - 6 reb - 2 ast - 2 stl
                      - Thaddeus Young - 31 points - 10 reb
                      - Andrew Bynum - 17 points - 14 reb

Howard carries Lakers to Game 3 win

Dwight dominates Game 3, Lakers fight back into series

                        **GAME 3 - 97-93 Lakers win (2-1)
                        - Kobe Bryant - 45 min - 24 points - 4 reb - 6 ast
                        - Dwight Howard - 38 min - 23 points - 11 reb - 3 blk
                        - Roger Fox - 42 min - 15 points - 5 reb - 5 ast
                        - Ty Lawson - 26 points - 3 reb - 7 ast
                        - Danilo Gallinari - 8 points - 5 reb - 3/7 fg - 0/1 3pt

                        - With their backs firmly 'against the wall' the veteran Lakers stepped up big in Game 3 to claw their way back into the series... The Lakers put on a Defensive clinic vs the Nuggets in this game, holding the high flying up and down Nuggets to just 93 points and only 8 fast break points... They held the Nuggets to 39% from the field and only 4/20 from three point range...

On Offense the gameplan seemed to be clear, get Dwight Howard the ball in the post and work inside out... In this game, the plan worked out well as Dwight dominated the paint on both ends of the floor, 23 points, 11 rebounds and 3 blocked shots... Kobe Bryant played 45 minutes, a season high for him... He scored 23 points and dished out 6 assists...

The win gives the Lakers life in a series that look like it could be over quickly... If they can figure out how to play with this kind of effort in Game 4, I think they might be able to tie the series and make things interesting...

Cavs take commanding 3-1 Series Lead

LeBron abused the Sixers in Game 4

                          - Kyrie Irving went off in Game 3, scoring a career high 46 points and leading the Cavs to a victory... In Game 4, it was LeBron's turn to lead the team... With Kyrie missing the game because of an illness, LeBron was called upon to be the "point guard" so to speak in this game and he delivered in a big way... I think its safe to say LeBron had a "pretty good" game with 39 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists...
"He does it so easily, you take it for granted, but then you look at the box score and you realize he's got 30, 8 and 8 nearly every night"
                          --Cavs PG Kyrie Irving

Tristan Thompson played huge for the Cavaliers as well, playing great Defense and grabbing, what seemed like every rebound... The Sixers were kept in the game by the hot shooting of Jason Richardson who poured in 25 points mainly from 6 three pointers...

With a 3-1 Series lead, the Cavaliers will head back home to Cleveland for Game 5, with the NBA Finals 1 win away, Cleveland Ohio and "The Q" is sure to be jumping for Game 5...

                          - Jason Richardson - 25 points 6/9 3pt

                            Nuggets take 3-1 series lead

Corey Brewer goes off in Game 4

                            **GAME 4 - 120-117 (OT) Nuggets win (3-1)
                            - Corey Brewer - 35 points - 5 reb - 2 ast
                            - Ty Lawson - 13 points - 6 reb - 13 ast - 2stl
                            - Dwight Howard - 32 points - 8 reb - 3 blk
                            - Kobe Bryant - 22 points - 3 reb - 12 ast - 3 stl
                            - Roger Fox - 21 points - 7 reb - 7 ast - 4 stl - 2 blk

                            - Game 4 in LA was a thriller in every definition of the word... With the Lakers clinging to life after a big Game 3 victory, they were hoping to tie the series at 2-2, which would have made things very interesting... Well, Corey Brewer had a different idea as he exploded for 35 points in Game 4... Brewer all but shut down Kobe Bryant, holding him to 22 points but the real story was it took Kobe 30 shots to get those 22 points... 10/30 from the field is not a very efficient game by any means...

Dwight Howard had a big game, scoring 32 points and grabbing 8 rebounds... In hindsight, the Lakers should have fed the big man even more then they did and the outcome may have been different...

In the end, the Nuggets came away with the victory and are now just 1 game away from a trip to the NBA Finals... Game 5 will be in Denver, so you've got to like their chances for closing out the series at home...

NBA Finals bound! Cavs beat Sixers in Game 5

Game 5, "The Q" was rockin like only Cleveland can.

                                - During the regular Season the Cavaliers had the best Home record in the NBA, winning 37 of their 41 home games. In Game 1 of these Eastern Finals, the Cavaliers fans were shocked that their team had been beaten by a Sixer team who wasn't all that good on the road, only 15-26 during the regular season. The loss brought back terrible memories for Cavs fans, memories of the Cavaliers loss to the Orlando Magic in 2009... That year, LeBron and the Cavs had the best record in the NBA, 66-16, with a 39-2 home record, only to lose to Orlando in the Eastern Finals.

This Cavaliers team by every account is better than that team. That team was all about LeBron James and on occasion someone else would step up and help him out, with this team, there are 3 or 4 guys that can beat you on a nightly basis. This team can score the ball from anywhere, inside or outside, they play great defense and they believe in one another, which is something that was lacking on previous Cavalier teams that came up short in the past.

With all that being said, the Cavaliers were entering the game, One Win away from their 2nd trip to the NBA Finals in Team History. It was only fitting that it was at Home, at "The Q" in front of the fans that have been with them through thick and thin.

                                **GAME 5** - 107-103 Cavs win (4-1)
                                - LeBron James - 31 points - 9 reb - 8 ast - 2 blk
                                - Shabazz Muhammad - 24 points - 3 reb
                                - Kyrie Irving - 14 points - 7 ast - 7 reb
                                - Jrue Holiday - 16 points - 10 ast
                                - Evan Turner - 16 points - 10 reb - 4 ast
                                - Jrue Holiday - 13 points - 5 reb - 14 ast
                                - Sixers shoot 70% in 4th qrt - 14/20 fg - 4/6 3pt

The Sixers put up a hell of a fight in that 4th quarter, but, the deficit was too much to overcome and they came up just short in this game... The Cavs win the series and LeBron leads the Cavaliers back to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2007... This time, the shoe is on a different foot as the Cavaliers will be favored in the Finals regardless of who they match up against, whether its Denver or Los Angeles...

                                THIS IS BELIEVELAND!
