    Kings Beat Hawks
    Get first win of season
    Nick Borges | ESPN.com

ATLANTA--The Sacramento Kings downed Atlanta tonight. The final score was 97-89. The Hawks outscored the Kings 36-20 in the first quarter but then only scored 16 and 13 in the next two quarters while Sacramento scored 26 and 27.

The Kings were led by their point guard, Greivis Vasquez. He had 23 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. He was 9-13 from the field. Also playing well were Carl Landry, Ben Mclemore, and Demarcus Cousins. Landry had 15 points and 2 blocks, Mclemore had 14 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. He was flying all around the court tonight with most of his points ending up as fastbreak dunks. DMC finished with a solid 9 and 9 but was a lowly 2-9 shooting.

Al Horford had a double-double for Atlanta with 18 points and 11 boards. Also scoring in double figures for the Hawks: Korver, Williams, Schroder, and Teague.

The Kings next game is at Portland to play the TrailBlazers who are currently 2-2.

Good stuff here, I'm following and enjoying. I'll also be doing an Association with the Kings, so I'll be interested to see your approach to things. I think I'll try to tank at least the first season and maybe trade for halfway decent 3. Good luck, looking forward to seeing where you take this.

          Blazers Escape Kings
          108-96
          Nick Borges | ESPN.com

It was a very close game all night tonight in Portland. Going into the fourth quarter the Sacramento Kings were leading as they were for the majority of the first three quarters. Then Lillard happened.

Damian went off. He scored 12 straight points for Portland and pushed the lead up to 9 points. Then he connected with Lamarcus Aldridge for an alley-oop dunk.

Lillard finished the game with 25 points, 17 of which were in the fourth quarter. He also had 7 assists and 3 steals. He shot a good 8-13 from the field.

To go along with Lillard, 6 other players had double digit points. They were Batum, Williams, Aldridge, McCollum, Robinson, and Mathews.

As for the Sacramento Kings, they were led well by Greivis Vasquez, Demarcus Cousins and Ben Mclemore. Vasquez had 17 points and 8 assists. DMC had 19 points as well as 9 boards and 2 blocks and 2 steals. Rookie Ben Mclemore was the leading scorer for the Kings finishing with 21 points, while shooting 8-14.

During the game, there was some trashtalk exchanged between Demarcus Cousins and ex-Kings player Thomas Robinson. Nothing major happened during the game but Cousins took to Twitter after the game. Here is what he had to say:

boogiecousins: that lil [expletive] punk. quit trashin u aint nothin

boogiecousins: next time ima whoop ur [expletive]

          boogiecousins: lets go #imtheking

The NBA and Sacramento King officials have yet to say anything about the tweets but something is going to happen. We will keep you updated as the situation continues.

                      UPDATE:

The Sacramento Kings have just announced that they will be holding Demarcus Cousins out of tonight's game vs the Portland TrailBlazers. The team did not release any information what so ever about if this would be the only game Cousins is suspended for.

Kings coach Mike Malone had this to say at today's press conference:

"We as a team, are all disappointed in Demarcus. He let his temper get to him again. This is a problem we have been avoiding all year. He has played very well for us up until this point. He's a smart boy though, he knows what he did wrong and he promises that we will all see drastic changes in his behavior. Thank you."

With that, Malone left the room.

Nobody has heard from the league office yet which was a very big surprise. It was expected that they would take control of this matter but it looks as if the Kings are going to do it themselves.

We will update you again after tonight's game versus Portland is finished.

                        Guards Step Up Big
                        Lose Nail-biter To Blazers
                        Nick Borges | ESPN.com

With Demarcus Cousins sitting this game out, due to the fight yesterday's game with Thomas Robinson, coach Mike Malone decided to play small ball and have a starting lineup of:

                        PG: Vasquez
                        SG: Thornton
                        SF: Mclemore
                        PF: Mbah a Moute
                        C: Thompson

Everyone stepped up big, but nobody stepped up bigger than the 3 starting guards, Vasquez, Thornton, and rookie Ben Mclemore.

Them 3 alone scored a total of 57 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, dished out 12 assists, had 3 steals, and had an INSANE 8 blocks! Here's their individual stat lines:

                        Vasquez: 18 pts, 7 ast, 5 reb, 2 blk, 5-9 shooting
Thornton: 17 pts, 5 reb, 3 blk, 3-4 on threes
                        Mclemore: 22 pts, 3 blk, 9-15 shooting

Rookie Ben Mclemore seems to be easily finding his shot and is playing very well in the Kings system. It will be very entertaining to continue to watch him play and grow on and off the court.

The final score of the game was 119-108. Portland played very well all night but especially in the 4th quarter where the out scored the Kings by 10. They had 3 players who managed to record double-doubles. Damian Lillard with 26 points and 10 assists. Thomas Robinson with a great 18 and 18 and Lamarcus Aldridge with 14 and 14. The big men on the Blazers all thrived in the absence of Demarcus Cousins.

As for the Kings, they are now a poor 1-5. Could there be some changes coming soon to Sac-Town? We will keep you updated if anything happens.

The Kings next game is Wednesday, November 11th.

                          Kings Trade for Hayward
Lose Thomas and Mbah a Moute
                          Nick Borges | ESPN.com

It has just been announced that the Sacramento Kings have sent point guard Isaiah Thomas, small forward Luc Mbah a Moute and a 2015 2nd round pick to the Utah Jazz in exchange for small forward Gordon Hayward and a 2015 2nd round pick.

Shaquille O'Neal, part time owner of the Kings, has said big changes were coming this season and promised the loyal fans of Sacramento a playoff visit. Right now, the Kings are 1-5 and tied for last place in the Western Conference.

This seems to be a smart trade though, as it will clear up the log jam at the point guard position, and it will give the young Ray McCallum and Jimmer Fredette some playing time. Neither of them have played in a game all year. Isaiah Thomas was a fan favorite of Sacramento but really had to go. He was really struggling this season. He averaged just under 6 points per game and was shooting 29% and 13% from three. Mbah a Moute was playing well but didn't seem to be a great fit in the Kings system. He was averaging 6 ppg, 5 rpg, and 3 apg.

Gordon Hayward is a very good player who was playing 32 minutes per game in Utah. He was averaging 10, 3 and 3. He is shooting 39%.

The Kings game is tomorrow night vs Brooklyn. We will update you after the game.

Hayward for Thomas? Shaq working some strange Voodo on the Jazz. They're desperate for PG help, yes, but I. Thomas has a ceiling that Hayward doesn't. If you're going to trade for Hayward, give them Thomas, LRM, and a first rounder, IMO. That'd be the more realistic trade to me.

As for the addition of Hayward itself, that should help spread the floor more and give D. Cousins some space to operate in the paint, so good deal there.

Well yes, but Hayward was mightily struggling in Utah. The Jazz also take in Mbah a Moute who in my opinion is a better defender than Hayward.
