I will admit I have more wins right now then what I thought I would have just looking at the roster, but a few of these guy's (Sandoval and Sowers) play much better then their ratings would leave to you to believe and actually so does Chavez my walkon PF.

If you go back and look at my scores, I had close games vs BSU, Gonzaga, a O.T. game win against Utah, a 3 point win over Utah State and a only a 4 point win in this last game against San Diego State. I was blown out of the water against N. Colorado and lost to UNLV by double digits. I really feel like I could be 5-5 right now. I simmed the Portland, Portland State, Nevada games so I can't take any credit for the double digit wins there..

When it comes to sim games I look at my Overall rating. If I am rated higher then I sim the game if not then I play. However I might have to come up with either a different strategy for the Pac-10 games beacause right now I am the lowest rated team in the conference.

Yeah your team is playing really well but just cause you got such a good record now when you get into conference play you'll be knocked back in reality lol...maybe

Yeah I feel like if I can get 8 wins in the Pac-10 it will be a successfull season. I would love to somehow someway pull out 11-12 and a win in the Pac-10 tourney so I can finish with 20 wins and at least make a NIT, but coming off 8 wins (3 Pac-10 wins) I would think the boosters would be happy with 15-18 wins.

Well there's a reason the last guy got fired. He did a terrible job and pretty much left you with nothing. You had a good non-conference run though. Maybe you can at least get to the NIT, or who knows, pull a miracle and get to the NCAA.

I feel like if I can pull somehow go at least .500 and go into the tourney at 17-11, then I should at least pull out a NIT bid, however because my non-conference schedule gave me a #3 RPI (not sure how that happened) then it's possible I could end the year within the Top-40 I might be able to be a bubble team even without 20 wins.

                          BEAVERS STRUGGLE IN PAC-10 PLAY

Going into Pac-10 play, Coach Deuce knew his team would be the under dog in every game they played this season, but after a 8-2 record in non-conference play everyone had high hopes the Beavers success would carry over. Unfortunately that was not the case as OSU drops their first 3 games in conference, including back to back games at home.

In Game 1 vs Stanford, OSU fell behind early and trailed (43-33) at the half. The Beavers attempted a 2nd half comeback scoring 50 points but came up just short falling to the Cardinals by 4.

                          FINAL SCORE STANFORD-87 OSU-83

                          KEY PLAYERS
SR SG K. Ingerson led the Beavers with a season/career high 22 pts and also dished out a team/season high 7 assists, well hitting 4/7 from 3pt.

                          F. Sowers added 16 pts, well S. Chavez led the bench with 11 pts.

Stanford had 5 players score in double digits led C. Willingham (17 pts) and K. O'Hara (17 pts) both of which came off the bench as Stanford's starters picked up early fouls.

In Game 2 vs UCLA, it was like Deja Vu, as once again the Beavers fell behind early and trailed by double digits at the half (45-35). However this time around OSU would not make a comeback as the team shoots just 28-40 from the F.T. line and 5-17 from beyond the arc.

                          FINAL SCORE UCLA-82 OSU-71

                          KEY PLAYERS
                          F. Sowers finished with a team high 19 pts in the loss, well R. Sandoval added 12 pts before fouling out.

FR PG R. Spears added 10 pts hitting 2/3 from 3pt and S. Chavez continues his strong bench play with 11 pts as well.

For UCLA 6'7 SF K. Carr led the way finishing with a double double with 18 pts and 10 reb among the starters, well backup PG B. Mills actually led the team in scoring as he posted a season/career high 19 pts on 3/5 from downtown.

In Game 3 vs Cal, it once again appeared that the game was over before it even started as OSU fell behind by double digits in the 1st half (37-26), but a strong 2nd half on both sides of the ball led to the Beavers making a huge comeback to force Overtime as they tied the game (65-65).

However in the O.T. period, OSU would fail to convert on their first 3 trips down courts which once again led to the Bears taking a 2 basket lead.

                          FINAL SCORE CAL-78 OSU-74

                          KEY PLAYERS

FR R. Spears and F. Sowers led the Beavers with 14 pts each in the loss. SR SG K. Ingerson added 11 pts and 7 assists but shot just 2/8 from 3pt.

POG honors went to Cal's D. Rothbart. The 6'7 Junior started at Center for the Bears and finished with 22 pts 9 reb and had 3 blks.

UP NEXT OSU WILL CONTINUE THEIR 3 GAME ROAD TRIP WITH GAMES @ ARIZONA STATE AND USC BEFORE RETURNING HOME TO HOST WSU AND ARIZONA

The Oregon State Beavers snapped a 3 game losing streak on Thursday with a (72-60) win over Arizona State.

4 players scored in double digits for the Beavers led by F. Sowers 16 pts. FR R. Spears (11 pts 4 reb 3 ast), C. Gillingham (11 pts 5 reb) and R. Sandoval (10 pts 5 reb 3 blks) were the other 3.

It appeared like OSU was going to put together a little winning streak as they opened up the game on Saturday @ USC with a (45-31) 1st half lead, but the Beavers would manage a season low 17 pts in the 2nd half as the Trojans came back to win the game (69-62)

                            F. Sowers led the Beavers in the loss with 17 pts, well R. Sandoval added 13 pts 7 reb and 3 blks.

FR E. Atkins also had a solid night as he posted a season/career high 16 pts off the bench in just 11 minutes.

Returning home to Gill Coliseum, the Beavers used O.T. to defeat the Washington State Cougars (81-66).

Leading at the half (33-29), OSU had a chance to win the game in regulation but a turnover in the final 20 seconds gave the Cougs the ball and SR SF A. Johnsen came through with the buzzer beater to tie the game (64-64).

In the O.T. period, WSU went dead cold from the field managing just 2 points both coming from the F.T. line.

                            F. Sowers led OSU with 18 pts and 9 reb as he takes POG honors. R. Spears added 14 pts despite hitting just 2/8 from 3pt.

                            A. Johnson led the Cougars with 17 pts 8 reb and 7 assists in the loss.

The Beavers wrapped up their 4th game with another loss as they fail to protect a double digit first half lead (50-38). Arizona scored 58 points in the 2nd half, as the Beavers defense went M.I.A. FINAL SCORE ARIZONA-96 OSU-84.

Arizona hit 13/25 from 3PT and 19/26 from the F.T. line.

Pac-10 living up the Power Conference name, though I imagine once your team's overall is on par with the rest of the conference they won't be much competition.
