Pitt got eliminated in the 2nd round yet is still ranked #1??? How does that happen? Cedrick Bowen on both Freshman and 2nd All-Conference Teams. That's nice for the future! Also getting freshman of the year is a big bonus!
You didn't really have any high scorers. Hopefully Bowen can develop into a player that can lead the team. He can already pull down rebounds with the best of them. It's impressive to have 9 RPG. Can't wait to see how the recruiting class looks.

At the very least I was thinking Kentucky would just flip flop with Pitt at the end of season rankings, but I guess not! Bowen was a solid player all year. I need him to find double digits in scoring next year and I'll be happy. I have a very young team, so we'll see many of the same faces from this past year moving into the 2008-09 season. Recruiting is ongoing and will be the next thing up!

                            2008 Recruiting Class

Charleston Southern have used 2 of it's scholarships this off-season and have bolstered their big men with more depth. Darian Vargas (62 ovr) will be highlighting the class from the center position. With the addition of the 6'10" 237 pound big man, expect last year's Big South Freshman of the Year Cedrick Bowen to go back to his more preferred power forward position. Vargas, the Jacksonville, Florida native comes in as the 610th ranked overall player and 77th ranked amongst centers and was a 2 senior recruit. The other scholarship player is one for the future and was immediately redshirted. Brandon Oguns (47 ovr) is a 6'6" 211 pound small forward from North Miami, Florida. Also a 2 recruit, he was unranked both overall and by position. The walk-ons include Dermie Lamkin (52 ovr) out of Toledo, Ohio and Mitchell Davis (54 ovr) out of the Bahamas. Lamkin is a 6'6" 202 pound small forward, while Davis is a 6'10" 243 pound center.

Wow tough haul in recruiting. At least Vargas brings some size but more so you have all 5 starters back and your 2nd unit as well minus Brooks.

Looking forward to the improvement in Year 2.

I knew right away that recruiting was going to be rough. I have 3 seniors this year and 6 scholarships available. I'm going with a more strategic game plan when recruiting.....I think
