GOSSNER FOODS HOLIDAY CLASSIC
NEVADA WOLF PACK VS CHATTANOOGA MOCS

The Wolf Pack improve to 8-2 and win the Gossner Foods Holiday Classic thanks to a 56-49 victory over Chattanooga on Friday evening.

The Mocs came out swinging, opening the game on a 18-4 run, and went into the halftime break with the lead. However, Nevada went on to outscore Chattanooga 31-19 in the second half to come away with the win.

Point guard Lloyd Agbai was the main reason Nevada came away victorious. He scored all 22 of his points in the second period, including 3 three pointers late to put the game away.

GAME 12 - 12/29/12
OAKLAND GOLDEN GRIZZLIES @ NEVADA WOLF PACK

The Nevada Wolf Pack closed their out of conference schedule with a dominating 72-54 win over the Oakland Golden Grizzlies for their fifth straight victory.

Nevada jumped out to a 13-point halftime lead due in large part to the play of guard Edward Fox, who finished with 18 points on 6-of-11 shooting.

Center Leo Winter scored 14 points and Dannorriss Scott added 10 of his own for the Wolf Pack, who will open WAC play next week against New Mexico State.

Haha I have some free time but it’s limited and in spurts, so I’ve been simming my games. Planning on watching CPUvsCPU for the tournament games, but otherwise I’ll be simming.

NEW MEXICO STATE AGGIES @ NEVADA WOLF PACK

The Nevada Wolf Pack opened conference play with a solid 85-51 win over New Mexico State in their first game of the new year. The win improved Nevada to 11-2 on the season.

Center Leo Winter led the way with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Edward Fox scored 14 points while making 10-of-11 free throws attempts, Lloyd Agbai finished with 10 points and 5 assists, and Christian Abdur-Rahim added a career-high 15 points off the bench.

Nevada was able to jump out to a 20-point first half lead thanks to a 16-0 run due in large part to the poor shooting effort by the Aggies, who shot just 26% from the field.

GAME 14 - 1/5/13
NEVADA WOLF PACK @ LOUISIANA TECH BULLDOGS

The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs did everything they could to try and snap Nevada’s six game win streak, taking the game into overtime. However, it was the Wolf Pack who came away with the 69-65 road victory on Saturday night.

Nevada was led by Dannorriss Scott who nearly recorded a double double with 12 points and 9 rebounds. With multiple players struggling with foul trouble, the Wolf Pack relied heavily on their bench, who contributed with a season high 35 points. True Freshman Cameron Roberts scored a career high 12 points in just 14 minutes.

Nevada held a 7-point lead with just under four minutes left in the second period, but the Bulldogs came storming back and sent the game into overtime on a buzzer beating three pointer by point guard Darmetreis Brock.

However, Nevada would score six straight points and held Louisiana Tech to a single basket in the overtime period to win their 7th straight game.

GAME 15 - 1/12/13
BOISE STATE @ NEVADA WOLF PACK

Nevada won its 8th straight game thanks to an impressive 11-point win over Boise State on Saturday afternoon at the Lawlor Events Center.

The Wolf Pack used a well balanced attack, led by point guard Lloyd Agbai’s 14 points. Edward Fox, Dannorriss Scott, Daron Williamson, and Leo Winter each scored 12 points, while Winter recorded a double double with 10 rebounds.

Boise State kept it close early on, but a 15-2 run by Nevada helped them pull away for good, heading into the halftime break with a 17-point lead.

GAME 16 - 1/17/13
IDAHO VANDALS @ NEVADA WOLF PACK

Nevada made it two straight victories over potato heads, defeating the Idaho Vandals 64-55 to win their 9th straight game and improving to 3-0 in WAC play.

For the second straight contest a Wolf Pack player recorded a double double as Daron Williamson finished with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Lloyd Agbai was the only other Nevada player to finish in the double digits with 13 points.

It was a close game throughout the evening, but with three minutes left the Wolf Pack would go on an 8-0 run to pull far enough ahead for the victory.

GAME 17 - 1/19/13
UTAH STATE AGGIES @ NEVADA WOLF PACK

In a battle of two of the top mid major programs in the country, and the top two teams in the WAC, it was the Nevada Wolf Pack who came away with a 68-56 victory on Friday night. It was their 10th straight win of the season, improving them to 4-0 in conference play.

Edward Fox led the Wolf Pack with 12 points, Leo Winter added 9 points and 10 rebounds, while their bench contributed with 34 points.

Nevada was able to go ahead by as much as 10 points in the first half. Utah State, who was ranked ahead of Nevada in the Top 25 Mid Major poll up to this point of the season, trimmed their deficit to as little as three points before Nevada pulled away late in the second half.

#24 NEVADA WOLF PACK @ SAN JOSE STATE SPARTANS

After their impressive win over Utah State, Nevada finally cracked the Top 25 media poll coming in at #24. However, it was short lived as the upset-minded Spartans of San Jose State came away with a 85-68 blowout win.

Nevada simply played a sloppy game and almost seemed like they looked past this game. They recorded 14 turnovers in the game and shot just 35% from the field.

They also didn’t have an answer for senior small forward Hollis Smallwood, who finished with 31 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Avery Gerlach scored 17 points on 4-of-11 three point attempts, and power forward Geoffrey Coombs recorded a double double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

#24 NEVADA WOLF PACK @ BOISE STATE BRONCOS

The Nevada Wolf Pack bounced back and finished the month of January with a 74-61 victory over Boise State for the season sweep.

The win improved Nevada to 16-3 on the year, which has them tied with Utah State for first in the WAC for the best record.

Leo Winter scored a team high 15 points, Lloyd Agbai scored 11, while Edward Fox and Dannorriss Scott each added 10 points.

It was a close 1-point game at the halftime break before Nevada pulled away by out scoring the Broncos 37-23 in the second half.

Yeah bro it’s definitely a possibility. What’s crazy to me is that SJSU isn’t in the Top 25 of the mid major poll, yet Louisiana tech is.
