As for Gasol, kinda wish he was injured before playing us lol. Does suck to see him go down, Memphis won't be the same without him. I can't see him going anywhere either, though Memphis can't seem to find the right pieces to add for him.
Conley isn't a bad PG, I think he and Gasol work wonderfully together. It's just that both Gasol and Conley feel like "1B" type of guys -- Betas, essentially. If you replaced Conley with Westbrook, that'd be a hell of a pairing.

Memphis, being the small market that it is, really needed to hit on its draft picks there have been a lot of misses. Free agency hasn't helped, either -- Chandler Parsons was a definite miss and Vince Carter, amazing as he is at his age, was totally unexpected.

        Season 1, Game 8 - at Boston

Big matchups coming up next against Toronto. Melo (29.2) and DeRozan (25) are 1st and 5th in scoring in the NBA. Valanciunas and Noah are T-5th in rebounding (13). Porzingis (3) and Valanciunas (2.6) are 1st and 2nd in blocks. Melo and DeRozan currently make the 3rd and 4th most FGs a game. Which means Lowry is who I have to worry about the most with Rose and Jennings still out.

Love the graphics btw! Rough start and I imagine going against Toronto won't be any easier, but hopefully, you can sneak past them somehow.

Appreciate the comment! Yes it's been a rough start indeed but hopefully Jennings and Rose can come back soon so there can be more scoring options. As for Toronto, looks like our defense forgot to bring their passport across the border.

                Weekly News - 11/06/16 - 11/12/16

THE WEEK THAT WAS: VOL. 2

                THREE HOTS

                1. Cleveland Cavaliers -- The new No. 1 in the Power Rankings, Cleveland has gone on a tear winning their last six games and seven of their first eight to start the season. The last one was a classic, a 131-130 win over Washington where LeBron James (23 points, 11 assists) and Kyrie Irving (23 points, 7 assists) outperformed John Wall (21 points, 10 assists) and Bradley Beal (18 points, 9 assists). James was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week with an average of 22.0 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 9.5 apg, and 55.9% shooting from the floor. Granted both victories this week were one point wins, but James and the Cavs are proving their championship mettle early by winning the close ones.

                2. Chandler Parsons -- Parsons missed the Grizzlies first six games thanks to an off-season injury but has returned and is playing like someone who merits earning $22M this season. Parsons return was in a 23-point win over Portland where he put up 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. The 7-year pro is averaging 22.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists since his return and in a 121-107 win over Milwaukee shot 8-of-12 from beyond the arc. It's the most threes made by a single player this season, and two shy of Parsons' career high. With Marc Gasol still out with a right hand fracture, Parsons is doing all he can to keep Memphis playing well until the big man's return.

                3. Los Angeles Clippers -- The Clippers have won five straight including wins over San Antonio, Portland, and Oklahoma City (their second so far). Blake Griffin continues to play out of his mind, averaging 20.5 points, 14.8 rebounds, and 7.3 assists this week. We have no idea what's gotten into Griffin but it's enjoyable to watch. The next week should keep the streak going, as they play three homes games (Brooklyn, Memphis, Chicago), and have a road game against Sacramento.

                THREE NOTS

                1. Utah Jazz -- In Utah's defense, they did play five games this week (going 2-3). But the start of the season is not going how they planned. Gordon Hayward isn't expected to return for a week and a half from his broken finger, Alec Burks is still out for two weeks recovering from knee surgery, but now they have to add Rodney Hood to the injury list. Hood broke his left hand in the second quarter against Orlando and is expecting to miss 4-6 weeks. Utah is open to sending one of their current players to the D-League and signing a shooting guard from free agency, with their name linked to Kevin Martin and Gary Neal. Utah will have to hope Burks and Hayward return at 100% to help right the ship.

                2. Charlotte Hornets -- It's not very often that we would add a team that is currently 7-1 and tied for the best record in their conference here. But the Hornets may be on the cusp of a downward trend. Their first loss of the season came in blowout fashion, a 123-81 drubbing at the hands of Toronto. They have their best three point shooter in Marco Bellinelli now listed as day to day after suffering a high ankle sprain in practice. And to top it all, the Hornets will take on Cleveland on Sunday and San Antonio in ten days. The competition is getting tougher for Charlotte, who currently have 5-5 Indiana as the team with the best record they've won against. Not surprising to see Cleveland overtake them atop the NBA.com Power Rankings.

                3. Brooklyn Nets -- Only took them two editions of The Week That Was to end up here. Progress. The Nets haven't won a game in two weeks and to add insult to injury, the more they lose the better odds Boston has of the pick they acquired from them being in the top three. Jeremy Lin has been a pleasant surprise for them averaging a near double-double this season. But they gave up a combined 81 points to Devin Booker, Brandon Knight, and Eric Bledsoe in their last loss to Phoenix. The Nets fell three spots to the bottom of the NBA.com Power Rankings, and it may be some time before they get themselves out of that spot.
