Re: SimWorld NBA: The Chronicle
I literally love this, gives me ideas for my own franchise. You're the reason I bought an xbox just for this game. Anyways, where can I download this draft class at or is it not public yet? Oh and as a Lakers' fan, I'm excited to see what you/the CPU does with all that money."Hate my game, hate my swagger, my hunger. Hate that I'm a veteran, a champion. Hate that, hate it with all your heart...
...and hate that I'm loved for the exact same reasons."Comment

Saturday, July 14th, 2018
The 2018 NBA Draft is just around the corner being only a few days away and there are always millions upon billions of projections, predictions & rumors. There could be a few trades and even a few terrible picks but we're here to analyze what each team should be / could be looking to do with their picks. We will only be looking at the teams holding the top 10 picks because after that… it’s truly a toss-up. Here we go…
Cleveland Cavaliers
Picks: 1st
Needs: Playmaking, perimeter defense, rim protection
Potential Priority Pick Pool: DeAndre Ayton, Luka Doncic, Marvin Bagley III
The Cavs have a lot going on this offseason. This could all go incredibly well or it could go terribly wrong with them having the number 1 pick. The consensus is that Lebron will be leaving this offseason in which case you draft the best available player & any of the above mentioned will fill a need for the Cavs. On the other end, many think that the Cavs will trade this pick in an effort to reel in cap space and future draft picks while attempting to bring in some more star power to try to retain "The King".
Memphis Grizzlies
Picks: 2nd,, 32nd, 41st & 45th
Needs: Perimeter shooting, wing scoring, shot creation
Potential Priority Pick Pool: Marvin Bagley III, Luka Doncic, Trae Young
The Grizz were one of the worst shooting teams in the league this past year and so was their offense. The good news is that Conley will be returning from missing a significant amount of time last season. The bad news is that it looks like Marc Gasol won't be a part of the team next season. Any of the players in our potential picks would help tremendously toward helping to put points on the board but don't be surprised to see Memphis take a Wendell Carter or Mo Bamba as a pre-cursor to a Gasol departure & if Ayton is somehow still available at #2, expect that pick to be the nail in the coffin for Gasol.
Orlando Magic
Picks: 3rd, 31st & 40th
Needs: Playmaking PG, shot creation, perimeter scoring
Potential Priority Pick Pool: Luka Doncic, Trae Young, Marvin Bagley III
Orlando have quite a bit of money tied up in players that have not lived up to their salaries (as of yet) and they are hardly on the list of most desired destinations. What they do have is a new head coach in Jason Kidd that will certainly have defense and playmaking as a focus. With that being said; which one do the Magic value as the first priority? Any of the above mentioned would almost certainly be inserted into the starting lineup and be expected to deliver. My money is on them going with Bagley if he’s still on the board at this point and look to fill any playmaking needs in free agency.
Phoenix Suns
Picks: 4th, 16th, 18th, 46th & 58th
Needs: Frontcourt scoring, playmaking SG, defense
Potential Priority Pick Pool: DeAndre Ayton, Luka Doncic, Mohamed Bamba
Let’s be serious here. The list could very easily read in this order… DeAndre Ayton, DeAndre Ayton, DeAndre Ayton. The Suns have already stated that they will do whatever it takes to land him at #1 & have also stated that they are willing to give the Cavs the assets that they are seeking for that pick. But let’s assume for a second that the Cavs don’t deal that pick to Phoenix. Doncic has been linked to Phoenix all season and the hiring of Igor Kokoskov has to be a premonition right? Well if Ayton is gone you can all but promise Doncic to the Suns but what if Doncic is gone before the Suns are on the board? Mo Bamba has all of the tools that the Suns are looking for to aide them in becoming a better defensive team and let's not forget that he is young with a bit of range.
Dallas Mavericks
Picks: 5th & 35th
Needs: Frontcourt scoring, defense, rim protection
Potential Priority Pick Pool: Jaren Jackson Jr., Mohamed Bamba, Wendell Carter
Dallas is no longer the Dirk show and that leaves pretty big shoes to fill at the power forward spot. Luckily for Cuban & company this draft is deep with quality bigs with lots of potential. Dallas is rumored to be looking to trade their way into a top 3 pick in attempt to nab Bagley while he is still on the board. The likelihood is that he will be gone and they will be left to select from the potential all-around stardom of Jaren Jackson Jr. at the 4, the all-around potential of Wendell Carter or the defensive favored Mo Bamba. We’re talking Cuban & Carlisle right so expect for to see them select whomever shows the best promise on the defensive end.
Atlanta Hawks
Picks: 6th, 23rd, 30th & 34th
Needs: Frontcourt scoring, defense, frontcourt depth
Potential Priority Pick Pool: Wendell Carter, Jaren Jackson Jr., Michael Porter Jr.
Atlanta was one of the worst teams in the league last season even with coach Bud at the helm but let’s be honest; the significance of Millsap’s departure was even bigger than could’ve thought. Atlanta’s projected pick pool is a collection of players that all have the potential to reach Millsap’s production in isolated areas. I can’t say which way I think that the Hawks may go on this one but I am pretty certain that if any of these players are on the board at 6, the Hawks will be nabbing them. Also; don’t be shocked to see some of these picks offered up.
Sacramento Kings
Picks: 7th & 54th
Needs: Playmaking, finishers, athletes
Potential Priority Pick Pool: Luka Doncic, Mikal Bridges, Lonnie Walker
Sacramento has some work to do and likely can’t go wrong with this pick no matter who is off of the board at this point. Sac-town’s young players have shown some promise but knowing just what De’Aaron Fox’s true potential is will remain to be seen until the Kings get players that can run the floor with him. Outside of Bogdanovic and occasionally Cauley-Stein (when mentally checked-in) the roster construct has not allowed for Joerger to unleash Fox in the open floor yet. The word around town is that Vlade will be doing his best to jump up to get Doncic to pair at SG with Fox for playmaking but if that’s not possible Bridges could be a fit and the Kings are really high (potentially figuratively) on Lonnie Walker for their needs.
New York Knicks
Picks: 8th & 14th
Needs: Wing length/defense, perimeter shooting, playmaking
Potential Priority Pick Pool: Trae Young, Mikal Bridges, Michael Porter Jr.
New York, New York. With an abundance of needs abound, the Knicks are shopping around to see how they can make their way into a top pick just like many other rebuilding franchises. With new head coach Mark Jackson already stating how much he’s interested in Trae Young & the rest of the country making their comparisons to Stephen Curry, it’s hard to see how the Knicks take anyone other than Young once their up. Unless it’s a ploy or he’s not available. Jackson has always been known to be a defense first kinda guy so Mikal Bridges would be solid for a team in need of wing defense. Conversely, the Knicks could use consistent scoring to pair with Hardaway especially until KP is able to return to form. Most importantly, this pick will be a building block for future moves in the summer of 2019.
Chicago Bulls
Picks: 9th & 18th
Needs: Perimeter scoring, defense
Potential Priority Pick Pool: Michael Porter Jr., Wendell Carter, Mikal Bridges
In what could be Hoiberg’s first season of renaissance or his final season under the helm, the Bulls are the one team that should; I repeat should take a chance on Porter Jr.’s health. This team is in desperate need of perimeter scoring despite the return of Zach Lavine. Porter could come out looking like a version of Kevin Durant considering how many shots he would get up in Hoiberg’s offense. If no Porter at this point in the draft, the should be looking for a replacement for Robin Lopez or at least a wing with solid three-and-D potential in Mikal Bridges. But then again, the Bulls are capable of anything so these picks could be floating in the wind by the time the draft finishes.
Philadelphia 76ers
Picks: 10th, 26th, 36th, 37th & 56th
Needs: Frontcourt depth
Potential Priority Pick Pool: Mikal Bridges, Miles Bridges, Lonnie Walker
Talk about a process. Fresh off of a finals appearance; the Sixers have a quality lottery pick in which they can further build your team (not to mention 4 other picks in this year’s draft). The Sixers could go any direction with this pick depending upon who is still on the board and any of those directions would be a good one. I definitely expect Philly to move some of these picks for future picks but if they hold on to #10 & a Miles brother is available, I fully expect them to take him. I could also easily see Lonnie Walker filly a potential hole left at SG should either Redick or Belinelli are allowed to walk.
That’s all for now. Let us all get prepared for what is supposed to be one of the best drafts in quite some time and more importantly; let’s get ready to see me continue to be right. Until next time; Ronyell signing off.Last edited by ronyell; 06-09-2018, 07:37 PM.Comment

Re: SimWorld NBA: The Chronicle

The Cavs mending fences in effort to regain championship form.
As reported by ESPN earlier, Lebron James has informed the team that he will be re-signing with them. In doing this ahead of the draft, he allows the Cavs to pull the trigger on moves to secure more superstar talent to pair with him. The rumor mill has linked them to San Antonio and Phoenix as well as rumoring them to be relinquishing the #1 pick. The other major piece to this story is that the Cav's GM Koby Altman is said to be stepping down with Lebron's comfort piece, David Griffin to return as GM. How did this all happen so soon? No one knows but the thought is that these conversations have been taking place ever since Lebron went down to injury in the playoffs.
Paul George is looking Philly-bound after all.
According to David Aldridge, Paul George and the Philadelphia 76ers have had multiple talks and PG himself can very much so see himself in a 76ers uni next season. Ever since the Kawhi to Philly talk has died down, this has been the expected target and the fact that Philly has made no clear inclination on if they were going to try to retain Redick or Belinelli, makes this seem even moreso like a lock.
Could CP3 be a one and done in Houston?
Fresh off of the heels of his first NBA championship and a marriage that seemed to be made in heaven; insiders are saying that Chris Paul could jump ship to yet another contender and that he is willing to take a paycut to do so. Paul who had great chemistry with Harden in Houston, is a free agent this summer. And despite his success experts think that he was unhappy carrying as much of the team as he did at 33 years of age. Couple that with the fact that Houston expects to finally bring over Sergio Llull next season and are looking to acquire yet another star & there just may not be enough money for Paul to say okay & stay.
Out with the "Dray", in with the "Whi"?
With everything that Draymond has put the Dubs through (good & bad); him being extricated from Golden State seems to be all but a forgone conclusion at this point. But as the rumor mill has suggested; could they truly replace him with Kawhi Leonard? Leonard has had his own battles with the Spurs this season and is expected to be moved this off-season. The inquiry calls have been confirmed from Golden State & Kawhi is accustomed to playing in a system. This is truly more and more plausible by the second.
Clippers could be a major player in tomorrow's draft.
The Clippers who hold tomorrow's 12 & 13 picks are rumored to be trying to trade up. It is believed that they will not be re-signing Avery Bradley this offseason and that they will be trying to move DeAndre Jordan's contract. If this is all true, they will be needing to reload and they are extremely interested in Luka Doncic. Doncic has also expressed his interest in playing in Los Angeles.
Beal & Wall have never been better.
In a recent interview Bradley Beal says that the perceived rift between him and John Wall is all "media BS". It was reported earlier this season that he wanted out of Washington & the perception has been for the past few years that he was not too fond of playing alongside John Wall. Well in that interview Beal sounded off saying this: "Yall gonna do what yall get paid to do and try to create a story. I'm here in Washington. I love the city. My teammates. And John. We're like brothers. We be on & off sometimes but we're here to make something happen. Point blank."
Atlanta's Dwayne Dedmon: "Boats & Toes"
Dwayne Dedmon reveals that he played the majority of the season with a partially mangled toe. The toe injury stemmed from a boating accident earlier in the year while he was sailing his 150 foot "Deadman Walking" yacht in Miami the night before playing the Heat.Last edited by ronyell; 06-11-2018, 02:11 PM.Comment
