100% - I can't imagine why they wouldn't pursue him. He's an alum, wants to be in Pittsburgh, and has had success well beyond what they've experienced in just a few years.?The Bulgarian Brothers - a story of two brothers (Oggy and Dinko) as they coach in the NCAA and the NBA.

The Inside Scoop – December 2023
The Inside Scoop is based on TheDominator273's awesome spreadsheet to add random events to your MyLeague.
As we head toward the new year and the structure of the league starts to take shape, we learn about a few changes in players that have taken place this year.
Damian Lillard is embracing his 6th man sharpshooter role
When the Celtics traded for Damian Lillard (PG, 88 ovr), nobody expected him to be coming off the bench just a year later. In fact, that would have seemed like a bad thing. However, nobody accounted for Bruno Radja (PG, 91 ovr). The 27 year-old Croatian rookie has been fantastic for Boston. Lillard, in a pursuit of a title, has not gotten angry. Instead he’s decided to make the most of the opportunity by becoming an even better shooter, particularly from the top of the key. Lillard is leading the Celtics in scoring with 22.9 points in just 26 minutes per game.
Oubre Jr goes under the knife
The Warriors will be without key rotation man Kelly Oubre Jr (SF, 83 ovr) for 3 weeks as he undergoes surgery on his right hand to remove a cyst. Golden State is fighting for a spot at the top of the West and hope to be there when Oubre Jr returns in the new year.
Dean Graves sees his opportunity fading
Dean Graves (C, 75 ovr) is a monster: at 7’2” the young player from Rutgers has size that you can’t teach. Unfortunately it also seems that he can’t learn how to play defense. He’s now on the Hawks, but the undrafted player has never appeared in an NBA game. Signed to a 2-way deal in the hopes we could provide some useful bench minutes, Graves has proven to be too big of a liability on defense, unable to protect the rim despite his 7’2” frame. It seems like Graves’ career may be over before he got a chance to start it.

Re: The Bulgarian Brothers – A College Hoops 2K8 & NBA 2K20 Dynasty
I know Lillard has done well for Boston, but I wonder if they wouldn't be better off trading him to bolster their team as a whole. Or if it's a sustainable situation long term.Comment

Re: The Bulgarian Brothers – A College Hoops 2K8 & NBA 2K20 Dynasty
I think they want to see if they can somehow beat Milwaukee or see the Bucks fall to someone else. Given how much even good teams (especially Memphis, Brooklyn, New Orleans, and Denver) are struggling this year, being comfortably above .500 is a really good place to be for Boston and it would be foolish to blow it up.?The Bulgarian Brothers - a story of two brothers (Oggy and Dinko) as they coach in the NCAA and the NBA.

Re: Introduction
Moving Brown, Kemba and a first got Lillard and Turner is a pretty good deal in hindsight but they need to capitalize now while Lillard is still doing his thing.

December 18, 2023 Stetson vs Robert Morris [Non-Conference]
The Hatters have played only three games over the past few weeks. They kicked things off with a huge 100-53 win over Howard that saw Brendon Pocius score 30 and three others score 15+ (Lennox Evertsen with 19, Jerimie Scott with 17, and Neil Mobley with 15). Pocius had 15 of his points from the free throw line as he made it there for 19 total free throws.
Unfortunately that victory was followed by two straight losses. The first was a disappointing loss to Arkansas State, 77-66. The Hatters turned the ball over 26 times compared to the Red Wolves’ 12 as Arnaud Dahi, Marko Nevill, and Neil Mobley all had 4+ turnovers. That was followed by a more expected loss to the supremely talented #18 Florida State, 78-59.
That puts the Hatters at 6-5 as they welcome Oggy’s alma mater to town. With games against Northern Colorado and UConn ahead on the schedule, getting a win here can help ensure that his team is at least .500 before conference play starts on December 29.
Oggy should expect a comfortable win against his former college. The Colonials are 4-8 on the year, but clearly lack talent. Senior P.J. Boatner (PG, 65 ovr) is easily their best player and he may not even see the floor for Oggy or Dinko’s squads. He’s scoring 10 points per game and leads the Colonials in blocks.
Robert Morris didn’t get the message that they were bad and jumped out to an early 5-0 lead. Stetson started to settle down and play a bit better and grabbed a 10-7 lead from Evertsen’s shooting and Pocius’ hard work and passing. However, that was short lived as Robert Morris worked the ball inside and got up 17-12. Stetson’s defense was not looking good and they were struggling to score.
Oggy moved Evertsen to the bench, put in some length and athleticism, and then decided to run a Marko Nevill & Ray Rowe pick-and-roll over-and-over-and-over again; at one point running it 3 straight possessions. It worked as they clawed their way back to a 1 point lead: 24-23.
After a timeout, Lennox Evertsen drained a three to give Stetson a 2-point lead, but they couldn’t hold on. Shortly after that Robert Morris went up 32-30, then Evertsen’s free throw put Stetson up by 1, but the half ended at 34-34.
Oggy was disappointed. His team was clearly better but they were not playing like it. Both teams were shooting 60% from the field and the Hatters were led by Evertsen with 19 and Rowe with 10 points. The Colonials saw SF Andres Thiero score 12 points and PF Clinton Hehn had 8 rebounds while Stetson only had 9 total rebounds in the first half - that was unacceptable.
The second half started much like the first with the teams trading leads and neither team pulling away. After Robert Morris went up 44-43, Oggy called a timeout. He exhorted the boys to focus on defense and put Nevill back into the game to run the pick-and-roll.
It didn’t work as Robert Morris was up by 3 several minutes later. However, something did start to work: Pocius and Evertsen.
Lennox Evertsen sparks a run with finger roll at the basket over two defenders.
The Hatters went on a 7-0 run thanks to the passing and shooting of their two wings, and quickly extended that to an 11-0 run thanks to Brendon Pocius. Pocius ran a pick-and-roll with Jerimie Scott and saw the strongside defender slide over, leaving Evertsen wide open for a corner three. The game was now 60-52, Stetson.
Twice now, Oggy has noticed that a particular lineup has been the key to his team going on runs: Nevill, Evertsen, Pocius, Mulic, and Rowe/Scott seems to be the “money five”. Maybe something Oggy should consider more of?
Brendon Pocius did not show up in the biggest way on the scoresheet, but he was dishing out passes, ensured the press was working, and helped the Hatters pull away in what ended up being a comfortable 81-70 victory.
Lennox Evertsen was deadly this game, scoring 37 points on 10 three pointers. He was joined by Ray Rowe who scored 25 points (but managed no rebounds or blocks).
Brendon Pocius had 10 points, 9 assists, and 7 rebounds in a great game. His steady play really helped unlock the team’s offense at various times. The Hatters only had 5 bench points.
P.J. Boatner led the way for Robert Morris with 20 points and 6 assists. Andres Thiero had 19 points.
Around the NCAA
- St. Francis lost on the road at Xavier, 75-58. Marvin Ames (SF, 81 ovr) scored 27 points for the Muskateers. Vern Quick and Bobby Valdez combined to shoot 7-27 on the game.
- #13 Boston College handed #8 Louisville their first loss in a big way: 71-49. Senior Leighton Byerson (SG, 91 ovr) dropped 26 points to lead all scorers.
- #7 Washington beat Kansas State 84-79, led by Darius Lovelace (C, 86 ovr) and his 29 points and 11 rebounds. Top NBA prospect Curtis Bitee (SG, 89 ovr) was held to 13 points on 3-13 shooting but still managed to get 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals.
- #17 USC beat #3 MSU 88-77, giving the Spartans their first loss on the season. It was a team effort for the Trojans with 4 players scoring in double digits. Smackey Krayl (PF, 87 ovr) played well in the loss scoring 20 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, and tallying 6 blocks.
- Unranked Tennessee demolished undefeated Texas Tech and dropped them all the way to #13.

Re: The Bulgarian Brothers – A College Hoops 2K8 & NBA 2K20 Dynasty
Would've been nice to get more out of Dahl but that's obviously not the storyline here. What a game from Evertson, not sure if you feel the same but when players get hot from deep on this game it's so fun to play with them.Comment

Re: The Bulgarian Brothers – A College Hoops 2K8 & NBA 2K20 Dynasty
a) getting to his spots
b) running the pick-and-roll
Pocius got 9 assists because he was very effective and getting the defense to collapse then kicking it out, and Nevill excels in the pick-and-roll.
And yes, when you have someone on fire, it's awesome. Keep feeding them, and Evertsen couldn't miss from the corner.?The Bulgarian Brothers - a story of two brothers (Oggy and Dinko) as they coach in the NCAA and the NBA.

Evertsen with the monster game. How are you feeling heading into conference play for Stetson? Think they can win the conference?Comment

Re: The Bulgarian Brothers – A College Hoops 2K8 & NBA 2K20 Dynasty
There's a lot of variability and it's a long season for 20 year olds, but if Stetson isn't close to winning the conference it will be very disappointing. It would also be the first time either brother gets a regular season title.
I think Evertsen is going to go down as one of the best Hatters to ever play. He's a lot of fun.?The Bulgarian Brothers - a story of two brothers (Oggy and Dinko) as they coach in the NCAA and the NBA.

Re: The Bulgarian Brothers – A College Hoops 2K8 & NBA 2K20 Dynasty
Loving the Mr. Inside and Mr. Outside combo for Stetson - though it is strange that Rowe couldn't snag a single rebound! Evertsen looks like an absolute blast to control - especially when he's catching fire from outside - and Pocius was everywhere for the Hatters against Robert Morris. Oggy has a terrific trio to lean on heading into conference play.Comment
