Faried! Glad to see a familiar face on your team. That was a huge win over Marshall, nice job with that monster second half.

Yeah, Faried is what drew me to this team, Faried has been one of my favorite players to watch over his career. The idea of trying to recapture the magic of Faried's run at Morehead and attempt to make it even better is what drew me in.

Yeah, I'm not sure what it was about Marshall but they just felt unstoppable on offense that game, I almost never expected them to miss a shot. I felt the pressure to score almost every possession on offense because I didn't feel like my defense could stop them. Based on the scoreboard it would seem like we dominated the second half but our comeback to win the game was extremely slow and took the entire half to chip away at their lead.

Yeah I love Faried's game shame he's not in the league atm,he's not our best or most reliable player on offense but he already is an amazing defender as a freshman.

Thanks for the comment too Seaboh, your throwback player dynasties are some of my favorite on the site. I completely forget to put you in the inspiration post under details.

Jeez I'm delighted to have been an influence man!

Are you using a photoshop template for those game recaps? Really like the webpage presentation but just never had the skills to do it!

Enjoy the break on the beach, nice to put the feet up, hopefully everywhere is not shut down with COVID19. I'm a high school teacher in Ireland, and we are working from home the last 2 weeks, and not going back for about another month either. Stay Safe!

Looking good! NCAA programming is non-existent here in Argentina, but I grew to like it more and more after reading some College Hoops threads here. Will follow!

I made a template on paint.net is sort've a low-end photoshop, not associated with Microsoft paint in any way lol. Still not the best with the template some of my numbers/names are not in a perfectly aligned.

For the website articles, I did steal your font and format (I hope you don't mind) to give it that early to late 2000s ESPN article feel. I've been trying to bring back the 2007 website styles for everything.

Most restaurants are closed to anything but takeout but otherwise, most other things are open in the US. However, I can tell tourism is way down which has made this beach trip kind've nice since it's quiet.

I've always been an NBA over NCAA when it comes to real-life but I just love the NCAA dynasty modes when it comes to video games. Thanks for coming along for the ride

                Ohio Valley Conference Play Preview
                December 5th, 2007

OHIO VALLEY (AP) -- For the Ohio Valley Conference their conference season kicks off as one of the earlier start dates. Right now their isn't a clear picture of whose at the top as we have the top eight teams in the conference with only one win seperating themselves.

The two teams with the most momentum coming into the conference season, however, are Tennessee-Martin and Tennessee State. The two in-state rivals both have 4-1 records. The Skyhawks of Tennessee-Martin are coming into conference play on an intimidating four-win streak but Tennesse State is riding undershooting guard Bruce Price and an upset win versus number eight Indiana. Price who had a lower back strain in his last game against Indiana will miss the next two weeks, however, he is the only player in the conference getting NBA looks at the moment.

After them, you have a jumble of 3-2 teams, Morehead State could be the most intriguing here. Led by conference-leading scorer Leon Buchanon, the Eagles have shown some dog in them beating a good Marshall squad along with playing Houston down to the last few minutes. Freshman Kenneth Faried has been a surprise standout. Leading the conference in rebounds and blocks as just a freshman. He's been averaging a double double due to his ability to be a consistent threat on offense off screens.

It's hard to pick a clear favorite at the moment with so many exciting teams. You have the Senior campaigns of power forward's Dorien Brown and Amadi McKenzie. Brown currently averaging 15ppg to go with 9rpg as he is determined to launch his school into March Madness his Senior season. McKenzie is right behind him averaging the same 15 points, 9 rebounds for Tennesse Tech.

The only team you can truly count out at this point is Eastern Kentucky who is struggling at 0-6 on the year shooting a horrendous 35% from the field. It should be one of the most exciting years in the Ohio Conference Valley's history.

P.J Valentine sits Down for an Interview

By Antonio Roe-Nose - Staff Writer

Interviewer: I want to thank you for sitting down with me today Coach.

Valentine: It's no problem, I love this community and our fans, that includes you guys at the local paper. Well as long as you guys aren't ripping on me too hard. *smirks*

Interviewer: *laughs* We haven't had a reason to... /yet/. You guys had a tough loss last night to Austin-Peay could you comment on that?

Valentine: They outplayed us simple enough, our defense was poor and our shots weren't falling, nine times out of ten that leads to a loss. We can't have that.

Interviewer: Did you say anything to Leon Buchanan in the locker room after missing the game-winner?

Valentine: I spoke to him one on one in a private conversation but I also addressed the team. It's not Leon's fault we lost if it wasn't for Leon we wouldn't of even been in that game and in the game before the Austin Peay one he hit the shot to win it. It was just bad luck he missed.

Interviewer: Going back to defense, your team currently has the best offense in the conference scoring 72ppg, however, your defense is on the other side of the coin as you guys are allowing a conference worst 74ppg. How do you plan on addressing that?

Valentine: We need to get tougher inside that includes everyone, we're giving up to many easy buckets in the paint. Then on the three-point line we need to do a better job covering shooters off screens. I still think our offense has room to grow as well, I think we can certainly raise our points-per-game as well.

Interviewer: Freshman Kenneth Faried is currently having an unexpectedly great season across the board can you speak about Kenneth's season?

Valentine: You know me and Kenneth we've had a real bond this year. Both of us came onto campus as first-year guys looking to make a mark. He's extremely gifted athletically and has a great motor to go with it. Now we just need to work on his touch around the rim and I think he could truly become one of the best players this conference has ever seen.

Interviewer: You guys won't be back in town long before you go back out on the road tomorrow morning to face Murray State, could you lift the curtain back a bit tell us what your thoughts are going into this game?

Valentine: This team somewhat reminds me of us, a lot of younger players without many Seniors. Although Bruce Carter their Senior shooting guard is quite a player. Guys averaging close to a double-double on the year. The team overall has a three-headed monster with their three guards all averaging 12ppg. We're gonna have to shut those guys down and if we can do that I guarantee we'll walk out of there with a win.

For those curious about what's going on around the NCAA and how Coach Valentine's recruiting is going. I should have something coming real soon. Had a big pile-up of games right around the recruit signing period.

You guys crushed Murray St bad. It's funny to see teams shoot such a low amount of threes considering the way teams play in today's age. Nice work so far this season!

Thanks all of our games except for the Oklahoma loss have been close games so it was nice to stomp a team for a confidence boost in the team's potential.

Yeah the late 2000s game, it's taken me some getting used to. It was very weird playing with two traditional post-up big men at first.

MOREHEAD -- First-year Head Coach P.J Valentine has taken a rather risky approach when it comes to recruiting in his first year. Although 3 Star prospects don't seem like a major deal for any major colleges, bringing in several three-star prospects could be a game-changer for a school like Morehead State.

Valentine believes in his charisma and coaching plan as he is chasing after the bigger name recruits and skimping out on the lower-rated ones. It hasn't paid off so far with Morehead landing zero recruits during the in-season signing period.

Elijah Brophy the number 197th ranked recruit appeared close to signing with Morehead but did not commit. Morehead is still the favorite to land the Senior guard out of Tennesse but now with several months until he can sign things could change. Brophy is rumored to being interested in the ability to be a day one starter at Morehead due to their lack of a true point guard.

Morehead also offered Center Boakai Al-Sayyad out of Florida, they're currently the only team to offer him but are in a tough battle with FAU and BCC for the player with our experts giving FAU the slight edge to sign the big man.

Other prospects include four-star point guard Stephen Dillon and three-star world recruit Milos PetKunas, both are rumored to be long shots for Coach Valentine but landing them would be huge for the school.

Valentine has kept two safer recruits in his back pocket as well Predrag Mrozik who despite the name is from Indianapolis, Mrozik has only averaged 5ppg in high school but at 6'10 he could be a great project player to put alongside Faried one day.

Lastly, Coach Valentine reached back to his roots Jarrett French, the point guard frequently played against Valentine during his coaching days at New Milford High School. French has spectacular size at 6'3 and 190lbs but has had a disappointing high school season. There is rumors that French has been put in a bad spot by his high school coach Eddie Lynn. French supposedly reached out to Valentine himself asking his former opponent to give him a chance at redeeming himself.
