I like project players, that 6'10" kid sounds like a potential steal.

French also is interesting, he'd be quite a get for Valentine and with a chip on his shoulder I think.
    Any comments are welcome.

I mean when you're signing 3 Star recruits all of them will probably be project players but on a team full of project players at least they'll be the better project.

My ideal realistic recruiting class would be Brophy and Al-Sayyad, Brophy is nearly a lock to sign with us but we're in a close third with room to go for Al-Sayyad. Not sure who I want the third to be, obviously want the four-star but we're trailing decently now after it started close.

French is the most interesting to me, he's got great size and the scouting report on him looks almost as good as Brophy. But he didn't do well in the ABL and isn't rated. We're also most likely bringing in Brophy who is a top 200 player in the nation at the same position. It'd be a good story though, Coach Valentine is from Rockford which is only an hour away from Chicago and French basically has us as the only school he wants to goto.

Any word on if Faried will stay? That could have an enormous impact on your recruiting alright!
Nice to see you are over .500 now too!

With Faried’s low overall I bet he stays all 4 years.

He's a low overall so I wouldn't expect him too, but he does have some pro buzz around him saying that he might be able to sign with a team undrafted. In real life, he stayed all four years at Morehead taking them to two NCCA tournaments.

French's size looks pretty appealing, given that he's a 2 star recruit though that could be moot.. I've always been intrigued by length and shooters, so I'm interested to see someone else's preferences.

He is somewhat real, I was using the way back machine to make a suitable looking 2005-2008 era looking page. I stumbled upon this guy who is a Nascar writer in real life but for this story is the life long Morehead St. local and sports writer.

The persona is inspired by someone in real life, I played high school basketball in a semi-small town with only 3 high schools. We had a writer who had seemingly been covering high school sports in the area forever.

This fictional writer has lived around Morehead his whole life and has watched the team miss the tournament every year since 1984. He's seen all the players and coaches come and go, as he has written about a celar dweller program for the last twenty-four years. But just maybe he'll get to see PJ Valentine turn Morehead into something special before he retires.

Yeah Simmons has had an up and down year, he hasn't gotten as much shine as his frontcourt mate Kenneth Faried has but he has a more well-rounded game then Faried and can hit a mid-range shot when left open.

I really like the old school layout and presentation. I think it helps capture the moment and what it was like during the era/generation.

Around the rest of the NCAA, Coach Cal's Memphis Tigers are still red hot they're undefeated on the year led by Freshman standout Derrick Rose. UCLA's four-headed monster of freshman Kevin Love, Darren Collison, Josh Ship, and Luc Mbah a Moute has been nearly unstoppable. However, they do have a weak link, Sophmore Russell Westbrook is not on par with the four other studs for UCLA.

Looking further down the rankings, Washington State continues to be a surprise. The team led by Senior guards Derrick Low and Kyle Weaver are 12-0 on the year, climbing from the depths of being unranked to now being inside the top 10.

When it comes to the Mid-Major programs the biggest surprise is Davidson's slow start. Many expected the Wildcats led by Sophmore sensation Steph Curry to take the NCAA by storm but so far the team has started slow. Losing three of their last four games.
