After a nail-biting win against the Houston Rockets Sunday afternoon, the Boston Celtics will travel to North Carolina to face the Charlotte Hornets. The Hornets are an up-and-coming team that feature a lot of young talent that look to make some noise in the Eastern Conference.

The Washington Wizards are another team looking to establish their presence in the Eastern Conference this season. The Celtics will take on the revamped Wizards twice this week. The first game will be a home game for the Celtics. The second one will be on Saturday and will take place in Washington D.C. at Capital One Arena.

I'm just slow when it comes to doing these. I'll try to pick up the pace though.

Don’t change for me. Just fun to see how you develop the storylines around the league at your own pace.

On the second night of a back-to-back set, the Boston Celtics were seconds away from their second loss of the season.

                BOSTON, MA

The second night of a back-to-back set can be difficult for NBA players. For the Boston Celtics, this will be the first of 17 back-to-back sets they will play this season. In such games last season the Celtics were 6-9. At one point the Celtics had lost six straight games on the second night of a back-to-back.

In an attempt to not repeat the missteps of last season, the Celtics came out firing on all cylinders. They shot 57 percent from the floor in the first quarter. However, the Charlotte Hornets were able to keep up on the scoreboard thanks mostly to LaMelo Ball. The second-year guard scored 13 of his 21 points on 5-of-5 shooting in the opening frame.

Three other players also scored in double figures for the Hornets. Combo guard Terry Rozier III matched Ball's team-high 21 points while hitting five of his eight three-point attempts. Forwards Gordon Hayward and Kelly Oubre Jr. each scored 16 points.

The Celtics only had three players reach double figures with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown scoring 29 and 26 points, respectively. Dennis Schroder was the third, scoring 13 points in his 25 minutes off the bench. Despite having only three players score more than 10 points, the Celtics were able to maintain their lead for most of the game.

However, the fourth quarter was difficult on offense for the Celtics. They shot 38 percent from the floor and were outscored 21-16. With under one minute remaining in the game, the Hornets took a 92-91 lead after a Hayward bucket. The Celtics failed to regain the lead after Brown missed a baseline jumper. The Hornets got a chance to put the game away but failed to do so when forward Miles Bridges missed a three-point attempt from the left wing.

The Celtics had one more chance with less than 10 seconds to go in the game. Brown received a pass that was intended for guard Marcus Smart. With only one second left, Brown had no choice but to shoot. Brown was in the same spot he was when he had missed just one possession ago. This time the results were different. With the clock ticking down, Brown's shot rattled in, giving the Celtics a 93-92 win.

After securing their third straight win, the Celtics will head home for their first of two games this week against the Washington Wizards. As for the Hornets they will go to Florida to take on the Orlando Magic.

The New York Knicks will be without veteran point guard Derrick Rose for a little while as he rehabs a sprained right ankle. The injury occurred late in the third quarter in a 107-111 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers.

Rose has been a great option off the bench for the Knicks. He is averaging 15.5 points and 5.0 assists through the Knicks' first four games. Those marks are both third best on the team.

Rose was traded to the Knicks from the Detroit Pistons last season in exchange for point guard Dennis Smith Jr. and a 2021 second-round pick. The trade reunited Rose with former teammate Taj Gibson and head coach Tom Thibodeau.

                        BROOKLYN, NY

The Miami Heat have started the season 3-0 and are looking very impressive in their victories. So far the Heat have the NBA's second best offensive rating at 115.6 and the best defensive rating which is 90.4 per 100 possessions. Miami's offense is led by forward Jimmy Butler who is averaging 22.0 points per game. Butler is one of six players to average more than 10 points for the Heat so far this season.

The Brooklyn Nets, though they've done well on defense, haven't played up to expectations on offense. Though forward Kevin Durant and guard James Harden are averaging over 20 points, only two other players are scoring in double figures. In the first two games of the season the Nets were held under 100 points. However, in the Nets' next two games their scoring averaged jumped to 112.5 points.

The Boston Celtics turned a small lead into a blowout in the fourth quarter.

                            BOSTON, MA

Forwards Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown get the lion's share of credit for the success of the Boston Celtics. As the team's leading scorers and most talented players, it's only right that they do. There are other players that stand out and one of those players is third-year forward Grant Williams.

Nothing about Williams' production stands out as before this game he was just averaging 4.5 points in 18 minutes off the bench. Against the Washington Wizards, Williams took advantage of the opportunities he was presented. In the fourth quarter, Williams shot 3-of-4 from beyond the arc and scored nine points Until this game, Williams had shot 2-for-7 from beyond the arc.

With the help of Williams, the Celtics offense exploded for 39 points on 75 percent shooting while also shooting a scorching 6-of-7 from deep. Tatum led the scoring burst with 12 of his game-high 30 points coming on the final frame. Brown was the only other starter to break into double figures as he scored 11 points, matching a season-low set against the Toronto Raptors.

As for the Wizards, guard Bradley Beal led the team in scoring with 26 points and was 4-of-11 from deep. Unfortunately, as the Wizards' offense slowed down, so did Beal and backcourt teammate Spencer Dinwiddie. The guards combined for a total of nine points on 2-of-9 shooting in the fourth quarter. As a team, the Wizards shot 30 percent from the floor and scored 18 points.

Until the fourth quarter the game had been close. The Wizards had a six-point lead in the first half. That lead was erased in the third as they were outscored 31-22. In the second half, the Wizards were held to 40 points on 39 percent shooting.

It won't be long before these teams see each other as their next game is Saturday night. The Celtics won't have a game until then while the Wizards will have to play the second of their back-to-back set tomorrow against the Atlanta Hawks.

Wednesday night, the Miami Heat were able to win their fourth consecutive game when they beat the Brooklyn Nets 103-84. Veteran point guard Kyle Lowry led the all scorers with 23 points while shooting 4-of-11 from deep. It was Bam Adebayo that look the most impressive. The fifth-year center had an 18 point, 10 rebound double-double to go with six assists. Even more impressive than the Heat's individual performances was there defense.

For the fourth straight game the Heat were able to hold an opponent under 100 points. This feat is made even more impressive because of two particular players on the Nets roster. Forward Kevin Durant and guard James Harden weren't a factor on offense. The All-NBA duo had a combined 23 points on 6-of-21 shooting. Neither Harden nor Durant made a three-pointer on their combined seven attempts. As a team the Nets were held to 35 percent shooting and made only 24 percent of their three-point attempts.
