Re: Just Win Baby! HC 09 Raiders Dynasty

    Bye Week (Week 5)

The Raiders used the bye week to take care of some personell issues.

The Raiders came to terms with CB, Nnamdi Asomugha. CB Asomugha reportedly received a deal 6yr deal worth $43.6M, with a $8M signing bonus, and no incentives.

Punter Shane Lechler was also resigned, he received a 3yr deal worth $4.9M, and a $500K signing bonus.

Owner/GM Al Davis was pleased to announce that RT Mark Wilson will be staying with the team. RT Wilson signed a 5yr deal worth $16.5M, and got a $7.5M signing bonus. RT Wilson can also earn a $1M incentive for starting all 16 games.

Coach Joslin reportedly wasn't happy with the incentive, but GM Davis wanted RT Wilson signed longterm and his agent wasn't budging on the incentive.

Also re-signed were rookie WR Dorien Bryant (2yr $480K/ $50K signing), C Damien Woody (3yr $3.5M, $500K signing), and RG Chris Colmer (2yr $620K, no signing)

In other player news, overpriced backup HB LaMont Jordan was injured in practice. Coach Joslin wasted no time putting Jordan on IR and using the freed up roster spot to sign camp cut LG David Hale. Hale was moved to RG where he backups Chris Colmer (formerly the backup LT.)

Coach Joslin has been moving players around trying to compensate for holes he sees in the lineup. Some of the changes are:

Backup LT Chris Colmer to starting RG- Colmer is a solid run blocker, solid pass blocker and impact blocker. McQuisitan looked good on paper but Colmer is the better blocker.

Former starting RG P. McQuistan has been moved to backup LT behind the solid Torrin Tucker (OVR 84/ POT 85...up from 82/82 at the beginning of the year)

DE Jay Richardson has been moved to DT. The Raider DT's were pretty bad with only DT Tommy Kelly being noteworthy...the other guys were just taking up space, but not making any plays.

In addition to the Richardson move, Coach Joslin plans on using DE Tony Bake and DE Eric Baker as DT's. He's not changing them over, but in an effort to have the best defensive players on the field, he will sub them into the depth chart. Most insiders see this as the end of DT G. Warren, and DT C. Lavalais' playing time.

FS Ty Law has been handed the starting job. FS Stuart Schweigert was starting and on paper looks like the better free safety...but he's not the cover guy Law is, and Coach Joslin wants DB's that can handle one on one coverage.

      Raiders @ Saints

      Week 6

The 4-1 Raiders head to New Orleans to face Drew Brees and the 2-3 Saints. The mistake prone Raiders lost a heartbreaker in week 4, and are hoping to get back on track this week.

The Saints win the toss and choose to receive.

NO QB Drew Brees doesn't waste any time picking apart the Raiders secondary. QB Brees drives the Saints down the field and hits WR Terrance Cooper for a 19yd TD. (Vanderjagt kick)

      NO 7 OAK 0

OAK QB JaMarcus Russell responds by hitting TE Zach Miller on a wheel route for a 31yd TD (Janikowski kick)

NO 7 OAK 7 at the end of the first

The Saints try to get a run game going with HB Reggie Bush, but Oakland's defense is having none of it. QB Brees is forced to pass on 3rd down. He goes back, the OL collapses, he's scrambling, DT Tommy Kelly knocks the ball free. OAK DE Derrick Burgess recovers. Oakland ball.

The Raiders pound the ball down the field with the occassional playaction pass from QB J. Russell. HB Justin Fargas ends the drive when he slips into the endzone on the pitch. (Janikowski kick)

      NO 7 OAK 14

The New Orleans OL is struggling to keep QB Brees safe. Coach Joslin is sending blitzers on every play. The pressure proves too much for the Saints and Brees can't convert the third down. New Orleans punts.

The Raiders drive downt he field with HB Justin Fargas leading the way. When the Saints defense stiffens in the redzone, the Raiders turn to the air and hit TE Zach Miller over the middle for a 12yd TD (Janikowski kick)

NO 7 OAK 21 with less than a minute left in the half

Despite rushing for only 5yds on 3 carries, RB Reggie Bush shows he is still a force to be reckoned with in other aspects of the game. RB R. Bush takes the kickoff 98yds for a TD (Vanderjagt kick)

NO 14 OAK 21 at the half

The Raiders start with the ball in the 3rd and turn it over to HB J. Fargas and he doesn't disappoint. HB J. Fargas 2yd TD run (Janikowski kick)

      NO 14 OAK 28 in the 3rd.

NO RB Reggie Bush humiliates the Raiders special teams with another kickoff return for a TD. This one for 99yds! (Vanderjagt kick)

      NO 21 OAK 28

NO QB Drew Brees manages to string some first downs together despite increasing pressure from the interior DL (mainly from rookie DE Eric Baker.) Brees has the Saints in the redzone when he gets deja vu. Raiders blitz, the NO OL collapses, Brees is forced out of the pocket, DE Elvis Dumervil shoves him from behind, Brees goes flying, losing the ball. Fumble! Recovered by backup SS Bo Wilson. Oakland ball.

QB Russell and HB Fargas move the Raiders into scoring range, but can't make it past the 18yd line. Coach Joslin sends in Janikowski. The kick bounces off the post. No good. K S. Janikowski blew a 35yd FG.

NO 21 OAK 28 as the 4th quarter begins

The Saints can't capitalize on the missed FG, when K M. Vanderjagt misses a 43yd FG.

Coach Joslin looks to run out the clock with HB Fargas. Fargas gets the Raiders into FG range with time winding down. Coach Joslin sends in K S. Janikowski and he shanks it. Another makeable FG (40yd) missed!

Saints charge down the field in their hurryup offense. The keep the drive going after converting on 4th down, but at the goal line they get stopped cold as Brees throws incomplete, complete but out of bounds, and complete but out of bounds. With only a few seconds left on the clock and less than 10yds between them and overtime, the Saints go for it. Brees is sacked. Turnover on downs.

Oakland calls run middle to run out the last few seconds.

      NO 21 OAK 28 Final.

      Player Stats
      OAK QB J. Russell 21 of 32 (65%) for 297yds 2TDs
      NO QB D. Brees 21 of 32 (65%) for 239yds TD

      OAK HB J. Fargas 30 touches for 141yds 2TDs
NO HB R. Bush 3 carries for 5yds

NO WR D. Thomas 5 catches for 95yds

OAK DE Eric Baker 4 sacks

        Jets @ Raiders

        Week 7

The lowly 1-4 Jets come to the bay area to face the 4-1 Raiders. This one could get ugly folks.

The Jets lose the toss, the Raiders choose to kick.

The Jets try to establish the run with rookie HB Jamaal Charles, but Coach Joslin isn't having any of it. QB Kellen Clemens can't make the 3rd down conversion so the Jets punt.

The Raiders can't get anything going and punt as well.

The Jets trouble continue as HB Jamaal Charles and QB Kellen Clemons manage to lose 23yds. Jets punt.

The Raiders move the ball methodically down the field and finish the drive with a 1yd dive by FB Carl Stewart (Janikowski kick)

        OAK 7 NYJ 0 in the 1st

Raider MLB K. Morrison ends the Jets next possession when he breaks into the backfield and forces QB Clemens to fumble. MLB Morrison recovers the fumble as well.

QB J. Russell throws the Raiders down the field, but makes a bad choice when he decides to keep it and scramble for a first down. Russell fumbles the ball. Jets recover.

Not that it matter, the incompetent Jet are forced to punt.

QB J. Russell redeems himself by passing the Raiders down the field and caps the drive with a 9yd pass to TE Z. Miller (Janikowski kick)

OAK 14 NYJ 0 in the 2nd quarter

QB K. Clemens is getting killed. The Jets manage a first down, but DE Elvis Dumervil and DE Eric Baker at slicing through the line with ease. The Raiders end the next set of downs after 3 consecutive sacks. The Jets punt.

QB J. Russell gets the Raiders into FG range with seconds remaining, but K S. Janikowski misses again (42yd FG)

OAK 14 NYJ 0 at the half

Oakland starts with the ball, but can't get anything going. S. Lechler punts.

Coach Mangini decides to try the run again...no luck. Jets punt.

OAK QB J. Russell and HB J. Fargas move the Raiders down the field. QB Russell calls HB Smash and sends HB J. Fargas through the Jets line for a big game...but he fumbles the ball at the end of the play. Jets recover.

Jets can't do anything and have to punt.

Oakland does a better job on this drive, QB Russell calls the playaction pass, WR M. Manningham comes free over the middle. QB Russell hits him, and WR M. Manningham shakes free of the safety. 27yd TD reception! (Janikowski kick)

        OAK 21 NYJ 0

The Jets look like a high school team out there. They can't do anything right...except maybe punt.

Coach Joslin slows down the game, running the ball and the clock in the 4th quarter. After eating nearly 7 minutes off the clock, the Raiders kick the 29yd FG.

        OAK 24 NYJ 0

New York fumbles the ball on the next drive, Oakland recovers and runs out the clock.

          Raiders @ Ravens

          Week 8

The 5-1 Raiders look to clip the wings of the 1-5 Ravens.

          The Raiders choose to defer.

Baltimore QB Kyle Boller has some early success vs. the Raiders secondaray, but Oakland's defense stiffens and the Ravens go for the 30yd FG. Stover misses it!

          BAL 0 OAK 0

The Raiders move the ball down the field, but HB J. Fargas fumbles it after a big hit by SS D. Landry.

Ravens look to their ground game, but HB W. McGahee and rookie HB Darren McFadden can't get anything going. Ravens punt.

The Raiders are more successful on this drive. Oakland scores when HB J. Fargas takes the pitch, breaks a tackle and then is in the clear for a 29yd TD run. (Janikowski kicks)

BAL 0 OAK 7 at the end of the first

QB Kyle Boller manages to string together several first downs mainly relying on reliable target WR D. Mason. It all comes to a screeching halt though, when rookie OLB Keith Rivers deflects a pass and comes up with the interception.

QB J. Russell drives the Raiders down the field and scores on a 15yd pass to backup HB Jamelle O'Neill (O'Neill was signed by GM Al Davis following backup HB Dominic Rhodes being put on IR, from an injury in practice week 6)(Janikowski kick)

          BAL 0 OAK 14 in the 2nd

Neither team can get anything going for the rest of the half with turnovers ending promising drives for both teams.

Oakland starts the 2nd half with the ball.

Coach Joslin is looking to eat some clock and has HB J. Fargas pounding the rock. The Raiders add some points to the board, when Fargas takes the pitch and goes in from 2yds out. (Janikowski kick)

          BAL 0 OAK 21

The Ravens gain a couple first downs but then are forced to punt.

The Raiders turn the ball over almost immediately on another fumble, this one by QB J. Russell.

QB Kyle Boller drives the Ravens to the 1yd line, but a stuffed run, and a pair of sacks force the Ravens to kick the 24yd FG with K M. Stover.

BAL 3 OAK 21 in the 3rd quarter.

The Raiders run the clock and the ball. Oakland makes it to the redzone, but has to settle for the 27yd Janikowski FG when the Ravens defense stiffens.

BAL 3 OAK 24 in the 4th quarter

Baltimore responds. QB K. Boller passes the Ravens down the field and caps the drive with an amazing 35yd pass to WR D. Maxon. (Stover kick)

          BAL 10 OAK 24

Oakland continues to run the ball, and when forced to throw on a 3rd and long inside the redzone, QB J. Russell finds WR M. Manningham. 13yd TD catch! (Janikowski kick)

          BAL 10 OAK 31

Baltimore moves the ball into scoring range, but can't convert on 4th down. Turnover on downs.

Oakland runs it down the field and adds a 32yd FG by K S. Janikowski

          BAL 10 OAK 34

Ravens' QB K. Boller isn't ready to quit just yet and he gets the Ravens into the redzone before losing the ball on a massive hit by OLB T. Howard. DT J. Richardson recovers.

Raiders let the clock run to 0

          BAL 10 OAK 34 Final

          Player Stats
          OAK QB J. Russell 25 of 33 (75%) for 325yds 2TDs INT

After 8 games are you going to post some mid season stats? I'm curious to see how Jamarcus Russell is doing overall and how many sacks and interceptions your defense has gotten.

That would of been a good idea, unfortunately my play cycle is a bit ahead of my post cycle...so while I have upto game 8 posted...I'm actually in week 12 or 13...just haven't had a chance to post the games. I'll post stats from where I'm at, when I get all those games posted. I can tell you this, we are still dominating in sacks...but dead last or close to it on interceptions.

                Falcons (2-5) @ Raiders (6-1)

                Week 9

In what seems like a tradition, the opposing team score on their opening drive. The Falcons are no exception, with QB Trent Green leading the Falcons down the field with ease. WR Roddy White caps the drive with a 6yd TD reception. (Anderson kick)

                ATL 7 OAK 0

Oakland responds with a time eating ground attack. HB Justin Fargas looks unstoppable on the drive. The Raiders tie the game with a 2yd TD run by Fargas (Janikowski kick)

ATL 7 OAK 7 in the first quarter

The Raider defense shows up, and won't let FA Michael Turner get anything on the ground. Falcons punt.

Oakland goes three and out and punts.

Falcons manage a first down, but can't pick up the yards on 3rd and 18. Atlanta punts.

Oakland goes back to HB J. Fargas. With a little help from QB J. Russell, the Raiders drive the length of the field, eating minutes off the clock. HB J. Fargas gets his second TD to finish the drive (Janikowski kick)

                ATL 7 OAK 14

QB Trent Green has to take over when HB Michael Turner once again is stuffed on 1st and 2nd. QB T. Green moves Atlanta down the field but is sacked on a 3rd down on the 15yd line. The Falcons send out K Morten Anderson...and he misses.

                ATL 7 OAK 14

QB J. Russell and WR Mario Manningham move the Raiders down the field. HB J. Fargas finishes the drive with a 3yd TD, his 3rd of the game. (Janikowski kick)

ATL 7 OAK 21 as the 2nd quarter ends

The Falcons defense finally shows up in the 2nd half and they force the Raiders to punt.

Unfortunately the Falcons offense is still out to lunch. QB Green manages a couple first downs but then they have to punt.

The Raiders turn to HB J. Fargas and march down the field. HB J. Fargas is dominating. Fargas gets his 4th touchdown of the game when he goes in from 7yds out. (Janikowski kick)

ATL 7 OAK 28 at the beginning of the 4th quarter.

QB Trent Green and the Falcons finally get back on track and move the ball down the field. Green adds another six when he finds WR R. White in the endzone, 8yd TD reception. (Anderson kick)

                ATL 14 OAK 28

HB J. Fargas responds by taking the ball down the field 10yds at a time. He finishes the drive with his 5th TD (Janikowski kick)

                ATL 14 OAK 35

The Falcons go into their 2 minute offense. Unfortunately, the Falcon recievers keep dropping the ball. Atlanta goes for it on 4th down and fail to convert.

Coach Joslin puts the ball in HB J. Fargas' hands and sends him up the middle. HB J. Fargas breaks through and puts the nail in the coffin with his 6th TD (Janikowski kick)

                ATL 14 OAK 42

                Player Stats
OAK QB JaMarcus Russell 12 of 21 (57%) for 159yds
                ATL QB Trent Green 18 of 26 (69%) for 214yds 2TDs

                    Panthers (1-7) @ Raiders (7-1)

                    Week 10

Oakland continues its relentless march through the dregs of the league. Oakland has only played one team with a winning record so far this season and that was the Chargers. The Raiders lost that game. So one has to ask, is the Silver and Black's magic nothing more than smoke, mirrors and weak competition?

We won't figure it out this week as the Raiders face yet another listless foe in the 1-7 Panthers.

The Panthers win the toss and want to start with the ball. QB Jake Delhomme wastes no time on capitalizing on Oaklands lax first quarter defense. A handful of passes and then he finds WR Steve Smith on the outside for a 20yd TD (Kasay kick)

                    CAR 7 OAK 0

The Raiders respond with a balanced attack from QB J. Russell and HB J. Fargas. Fargas adds another TD to his resume, when he goes in from 7yds out. (Janikowski kick)

                    CAR 7 OAK 7

The Raiders is more effective stopping QB Delhomme on the second drive. Panthers forced to punt.

Oakland turns the ball over to HB J. Fargas. In a time consuming drive the Raiders move down the field and score on a HB J. Fargas 3yd run. (Janikowski kick)

                    CAR 7 OAK 14

Carolina's drive comes to an abrupt end, when OLB Keith Rivers forces a fumble and recovers it himself.

Unfortunately the Raiders suffer the same fate, when DE Julius Peppers strips QB J. Russell.

Time expires before Carolina can get any points on the board.

CAR 7 OAK 14 at the half.

The Raiders start with the ball, but the Panthers stop them from going anywhere. Oakland punts.

QB J. Delhomme is pinned deep on the Lechler punt. He looks to HB DeAngelo Williams to dig them out of the hole. Williams busts a big 19yd run. But after that can't seem to do much. Delhomme on the other hand is quite successful in throwing the Panthers down the field, largely thanks to WR M. Muhammed. Carolina gets into the redzone and Delhomme wants 6. He throws to WR M. Muhammed on the slant, but CB DeAngelo Hall jumps the route and takes the ball away. Hall gets tackled in the endzone...the referees signal SAFETY! What?

The rules clearly state: If a player on the defense gains possession of the ball in his own end zone through a fumble recovery or interception and is tackled there, it is a touchback, not a safety. If he makes an interception outside of the end zone, his momentum carries him into the end zone and he is tackled there, his team gets the ball at the spot of the interception.

Coach Joslin throws the challenge flag...but the referees say the call is good. The Raiders have to kick.

                    CAR 9 OAK 14

You can tell the Raiders are angry about the last call and they are taking it out on the Panthers. The Panthers gain two first downs, one on a facemask and one on a roughing the passer penalty. DC Rob Ryan calms his guys down, or at least gets them to stop getting stupid penalties. The Raiders force a 3 and out. Panthers punt.

QB J. Russell and HB J. Fargas drive the Raiders down the field. HB J. Fargas takes the pitch around the corner for a 10yd TD to finish the drive (Janikowski kick)

                    CAR 9 OAK 21

                    K. S. Janikowski pulls a muscle on the kickoff and he's out for the rest of the game.

Coach Joslin is sending the house on every play and it is too much for the Panthers' OL. QB Delhomme is knocked out of the game. Backup QB Matt Moore comes in and throws a pick.

Coach Joslin has HB J. Fargas pound the ball and take time off the clock. Fargas tacks on another TD at the beginning of the 4th quarter. (Lechler kicks)

CAR 9 OAK 28 in the 4th quarter

The Raiders defense is killing the Panthers and backup QB Matt Moore is running for his life. Panthers punt.

The Raiders have this one wrapped up and they could just run the clock. but Coach Joslin sends in the play and it is pass. QB J. Russell is only too happy to oblige. A handful of plays later WR Dorien Bryant catches a 17yd pass in the back of the endzone. TD (Lechler kick)

                    CAR 9 OAK 35

Coach Fox tries to run out the clock and get his team out of Oakland, but the Raiders defense won't let them get a first down and the Panthers punt.

Oakland goes into the 2 minute drill and end the game with a 9yd pass to backup HB DeShaun Foster (Lechler kick)

                    CAR 9 OAK 42 Final

                    Player Stats:
                    OAK QB JaMarcus Russell 21 of 28 (75%) for 257yds 2 TDs
CAR QB Jake Delhomme 12 of 19 (63%) for 173yds TD, INT

OAK HB Justin Fargas 29 carries for 185yds 4 TDs
CAR HB DeAngelo Williams 17 carries for 16yds

OAK TE Zach Miller 4 catches for 54yds

CAR WR A. Moore 5 catches for 93yds

                      (8-1) Raiders @ Dolphins (3-6)

                      Week 11

Another team with a losing record. When will the Raiders face a real opponent?

The Dolphins win the toss and choose to receive.

Rookie QB Matt Ryan shows poise as he picks up a pair of first downs. The Dolphins OL is giving Ryan plenty of time and WR Ted Ginn Jr. and FA WR Donte Stallworth and are consistently beating their man. The drive ends unceremoniously when HB Ricky Williams (HB R. Brown is out with a leg injury) fumbles.

The Raiders capitalize on the turnover and turn it into 6, when HB J. Fargas goes in on a 3yd run. (Janikowski kick)

                      OAK 7 MIA 0

HB Ricky Williams can't get anything going on the ground, and the Oakland defense won't let QB M. Ryan convert on 3rd down. Dolphins punt.

The Raiders are moving down the field, but QB J. Russell makes a bad pass and FA CB Asante Samuels has it. Miami ball.

The Dolphins move down the field, but are stopped on the 24yd line. Head Coach Tony Sparano sends out K J. Feely for the 41yd FG

                      OAK 7 MIA 3 in the 2nd.

The Raiders end another promising drive with a turnover. This time FB Carl Stewart fumbles the ball after picking up a first down. CB Will Allen recovers for the Dolphins.

The Dolphins lose HB Ricky Williams to injury, and let the clock wind down to 0 down by 4.

OAK 7 MIA 3 at the half

The Raiders start with the ball, but QB J. Russell gives it back when he throws into coverage and Saftey W. Demps comes down with it.

QB Matt Ryan gets the Dolphins a 1st down, then 3rd string HB Lorenzo Booker gets the rest on a 63yd TD run! (Feely kick)

                      OAK 7 MIA 10

The Raiders drive the length of the field on the legs of HB J. Fargas, but fail to convert when Coach Joslin decides to go for it on a 4th and 1 on the 32yd line (too close to punt, but unfortunately out of Janikowski's reliable range.)

The Dolphins make them pay, when QB Matt Ryan and HB Lorenzo Booker combine to drive Miami down the field. HB Booker scores on a 1yd run up the middle. (Feely kick)

                      OAK 7 MIA 17 in the 4th

QB J. Russell isn't ready to lie down and die just yet though. Spreading the ball around, he takes Oakland down the field and hits TE Zach Miller on a 19yd pass for the TD. (Janikowski kick) On the downside, the Raiders lose HB Justin Fargas for the game with a head injury.

OAK 14 MIA 17 with less than 4 minutes left

The Raiders go for the onside kick, but come up empty-handed.

The Raiders need a stop here, but Rookie QB Matt Ryan and the Dolphins OL can't be stopped. Ryan isn't lighting it up, but he's making the throws he needs to and he adds another TD, when he hits TE D. Martin for a 10yd TD (Feely kick)

                      OAK 14 MIA 24

The Raiders are in the hurryup, and it is all WR Mario Manningham. WR Manningham finishes the drive with a 9yd TD catch. (Janikowski kick)

OAK 21 MIA 24 with less than 30 seconds remaining.

The Raiders lineup for the onside kick.

The Dolphins have it, but wait, the ball comes free as TE D. Martin is tackled...the Dolphins recover. Adding insult to injury K S. Janikowski was injured on the kick. He's out to get X-Rays.

QB M. Ryan takes a knee to let time expire.

OAK 21 MIA 24 Raiders Lose!

                        Raiders (8-2) @ Broncos (2-8)

                        Week 12
The Raiders are hurting after last weeks loss to the Dolphins, and they are looking to get better by making the Broncos feel the pain. The Raiders started their season vs. the Broncos, a game they won. The Raiders won't have MVP candidate HB Justin Fargas. Coach Joslin remains confident they can win.

The Broncos win the toss and choose to kick. OAK K S. Janikowski is injured on the kickoff.

It takes a few plays for Rookie FA HB Jamelle O'Neill to get the hang of things, but he looks like a pro when he ends the drive with a 2yd TD run. (Lechler kick)

                        OAK 7 DEN 0

The Broncos and QB Jay Cutler can't get anything going...although HB Shaun Alexander is having a much improved game from their last meeting. The Broncos punt.

QB JaMarcus Russell gives it right back when he lofts a lame duck right to SS Bernard Pollard.

Denver can't take advantage though, and P M. Koenen has to punt it away.

With Russell looking shaky, Coach Joslin decides it is time to see what GM Al Davis' rookie signee has. HB J. O'Neill responds with another TD, this time from 5yds out. (Lechler kick)

OAK 14 DEN 0 at the start of the 2nd

QB Jay Cutler gets the Broncos on the boards when he finds TE Tony Scheffler open in the flat. Scheffler breaks a couple tackles and goes 43yds for the TD (Lindell kick)

                        OAK 14 DEN 7 in the 2nd

QB JaMarcus Russell throws another pick. This time to FS John Lynch.

The Broncos can't convert on 3rd down and have to punt.

Coach Joslin goes back to the rookie and he is rewarded with another 5yd TD run. (Lechler kick)

                        OAK 21 DEN 7

The Broncos can't get anything going, failing to convert on a 3rd and 1. Koenen punts again.

With time dwinding QB J. Russell manages to get the Raiders to the 37yd line with 3 seconds remaining. A 44yd FG would be less than a 50/50 shot with Janikowski, but he's out and Lechler is in...besides, what is there to lose? Lechler nails it, with room to spare.

                        OAK 24 DEN 7

Denver starts with the ball in the 3rd and thanks to a good kick return by CB Chris Gamble are looking good. The looke even better when HB Shaun Alexander goes in from 4yds out. (Lindell kick)

                        OAK 24 DEN 14

Coach Joslin turns to HB J. O'Neill to run the clock and eat up yards on the ground. As the 4th quarter begins, HB J. O'Neill adds another TD to his resume. (Janikowski is back and he makes the PAT)

                        OAK 31 DEN 14

Denver looks lost out there, and QB Cutler continues to get hammered. Broncos punt.

The Raiders plan to run the clock. HB J. O'Neill adds another TD (Janikowski kick)

                        OAK 38 DEN 14

QB Jay Cutler spends most of the next three plays on the ground after his OL parts like the Red Sea. The Broncos go for it on 4th. Are you kidding me? The game is out of reach. There is less than a minute remaining. Cutler has completed exactly 4 passes all game, and let's face it a 4th and 23 is hard to convert in the best of circumstances. Turnover on downs.

The Raiders run the clock down and send K Janikowski out for a 33yd FG to end the game.

                        OAK 41 DEN 14

                        Player Stats

                          Chiefs (7-4) @ Raiders (9-2)

                          Week 13

The Raiders face a team with a winning record and it is a division rival. The Raiders beat the Chiefs 35-17 in week 2, and look to do the same this week.

Raider fans will be glad to hear that despite not practicing all week, HB Justin Fargas is active for this game and is expected to play.

The Raiders start with the ball and waste no time putting some points on the board. QB JaMarcus Russell hits WR Dorien Bryant for a 18yd TD reception. (Janikowski kick)

                          OAK 7 KC 0

If anything HB Larry Johnson looks worse than he did in week 2. Damon Huard can't convert on 3rd down so the Chiefs have to punt.

QB J. Russell gives it right back when he is intercepted by FA OLB Karlos Dansby. QB Damon Huard gets the Chiefs into FG range and K John Hall adds 3pts.

                          OAK 7 KC 3

Oakland scores on their first play after the kickoff when QB J. Russell finds WR Mario Manningham over the middle. Manningham slips through a tackle and outruns his pursuers...70yd TD! (Janikowski kick)

                          OAK 14 KC 3

KC can't get anything going and have to punt.

Oakland HB J. Fargas runs the ball with some success, but he seems hesitant, and after a big hit, fumbles the ball. Chiefs recover.

KC QB Damon Huard turns it into points when he finds a wide open WR Dwayne Bowe for a 65yd catch and run TD. (Hall kick)

OAK 14 KC 10 in the 1st quarter.

Oakland drives down the field, but QB J. Russell fumbles the pitch and the Chiefs recover.

Oakland turns it into points when they catch HB Larry Johnson in the endzone. Safety! KC kicks

                          OAK 16 KC 10 in the 2nd

The Raiders march down the field, but lose it again when QB J. Russell fumbles the snap. Chiefs recover.

KC can't do anything with it and has to punt.

QB J. Russell redeems himself when he finds FB C. Stewart open over the middle for an 8yd TD. (Janikowski kick)

                          OAK 23 KC 10 in the 2nd

QB Damon Huard brings the Chiefs right back and closes the gap to 6 when he finds WR B. Jones on a 48yd pass play for the TD. (Hall kick)

OAK 23 KC 17 at the half

The Chiefs start with the ball, but HB Larry Johnson still can't find any running room, so it's up to QB Damon Huard. Huard can't convert on 3rd and long and KC punts.

QB J. Russell drives down the field, but makes a costly mistake in the redzone when he throws an interception to CB Brandon Flowers.

KC looks to capitalize on the Raiders' mistakes, but QB Damon Huard throws a pick and CB DeAngelo Hall takes it to the house! 55yd Interception Return TD (Janikowski kick)

                          OAK 30 KC 17 in the 3rd

QB Huard takes the Cheifs down the field, but the drive ends with a fumble by WR D. Bowe.

The Raiders give it right back when HB Justin Fargas fumbles. Coach Joslin has had enough...with a 13 point lead and QB Russell and HB Fargas combining for 6 turnovers, they're out.

QB Damon Huard gets knocked out of the game and in comes backup QB Brodie Croyle. Croyle has some early success, but the pressure from the Radiers linebackers is too much. KC punts.

Raider backup QB Andrew Walter's playing time is limited as he goes 1 of 4 for a grand total of 6 yards before being knocked out of the game. HB Jamelle O'Neill looks a little more steady. QB J. Russell comes back and is playing dink and dunk ball. Coach Joslin doesn't want another pick. Russell caps the drive with a 14yd pass to FB Carl Stewart. (Janikowski kick)

                          OAK 37 KC 17 in the 4th

QB Brodie Croyle throws up a bad pass under pressure and SS Michael Huff comes down with it.

QB JaMarcus Russell moves the Raiders down the field a few yards at a time, and finishes the drive with an 8yd TD to WR Mario Manningham. WR Manningham is having the game of his life! (Janikowski kick)

                          OAK 44 KC 17 in the 4th

The Chiefs can't get anything going and fail to convert on 4th down.

The Raiders take over, but QB J. Russell throws his 3rd pick of the game. QB B. Croyle capitalizes on this mistake when he hits WR D. Bowe for a 64yd TD. (Hall kick)

                          OAK 44 KC 24

The Raiders feed the ball to HB J. O'Neill to run out the clock. O'Neill adds a TD as time dwindles. (Janikowski kick)

                          OAK 51 KC 24

QB B. Croyle can't get anything going in the hurryup and time expires.

You get some of the craziest stats I've ever seen. In two weeks Fargas scores 10 touchdowns, the next week your backup scores 5, and then the next week, Russell throws for 500+ and Manningham gains over 300 yards. And during all of this offense, your defense has been monstrous by sacking QBs left and right, knocking them out of games. It's amazing you've only allowed one 100 yard rusher this whole season. Plus you seem to hold onto the ball for at least 40 minutes a game

                              (10-2) Raiders @ Chargers (7-5)

                              Week 14

The Raiders travel to San Deigoe to face Norv Turner and the Chargers. The Chargers handed the Raiders one of their two defeats this season and Coach Joslin is determined that it will not happen again.

The Raiders start with the ball and waste no time letting the Charger faithful know they should pack it in early. QB J. Russell finds WR M. Manningham over the middle, and Manningham outruns the defenders for a 84yd TD. (Janikowski kick)

                              OAK 7 SD 0

QB Phillip Rivers moves the ball effectively down the field but gets picked off in the redzone by CB Nnamdi Asomugha.

QB Jamarcus Russell and HB Justin Fargas pass and run the Raiders down the field, but then QB Russell throws a pick in the redzone. S E. Weddle downs it on the 2yd line.

HB LaDadanian Tomlinson is likely to have words with his OL as they let the Raiders DEs through, resulting in a Safety! Chargers kick.

OAK 9 SD 0 in the 2nd quarter

The Raiders add to their lead when HB J. Fargas takes one in from 6yds out. (Janikowski kick)

                              OAK 16 SD 0 in the 2nd

HB L. Tomlinson can't get anything going on the ground, averaging a meager 0.6yds a carry. It's going to be up to QB Phillip Rivers to win this one. Rivers makes a couple first downs, but can't keep the drive going. Chargers punt.

The Raiders move down the field, but are stopped on the 17yd line. Coach Joslin sends the erratic K S. Janikowski in and he makes it. 34yd FG

                              OAK 19 SD 0 in the 2nd

QB Phillip Rivers fumbles the ball and DE Eric Baker recovers. Coach Joslin puts the ball in HB Justin Fargas' hands and he doesn't disappoint. HB J. Fargas goes in on a 4yd pitch play. (Janikowski kick)

OAK 26 SD 0 as the 2nd quarter ends

The Chargers can't get anything going on the ground or in the air to start the 3rd quarter and have to punt.

The Raiders by comparison are running on all cylinders. QB J. Russell and HB Justin Fargas move the ball with ease. WR D. Bryant ends the drive with a 6yd TD pass.

The Chargers manage to gain some yards, but once again are forced to punt.

QB Russell falters and throws a pick to SD CB A. Cromartie. Unfortunately, the offense can't do anything with it and punt it back to the Raiders.

This time Oakland keeps the ball in the reliable hands of HB J. Fargas. Fargas sends the SD faithful home when he goes in for a 5yd TD (Janikowski kick)

OAK 40 SD 0 in the last part of the 3rd quarter

The Chargers finally manage to get on the board in the 4th, when QB P. Rivers finds WR C. Chambers for a 7yd TD. (Kaeding kick)

                              OAK 40 SD 7 in the 4th

Coach Joslin keeps feeding the ball to HB Fargas, who comes up with another TD (Janikowski kick)

                              OAK 47 SD 7

QB Phillip Rivers throws his third pick of the game, ending another drive. The Raiders take advantage of the turnover and add another TD when FB Carl Stewart catches a short pass in the flat and breaks free to go 23yds for the TD. (Janikowski kick)

                              OAK 54 SD 7

With almost no one left in the stadium, QB P. Rivers finds TE A. Gates for a 15yd TD (Kaeding kick)

                              OAK 54 SD 14 final
