Panthers Advance Over Rams
Close Game In Charlotte
Charlotte, NC- Inside a packed Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, the Panthers and Rams played a great game. The great offense of St. Louis against the dominated defense of Carolina. Both teams were neck and neck throughout the game, but a John Kasay FG in the 3rd Quarter was the difference. Steven Jackson started the game off with a 1 yard run up the middle to put the Rams up 7-0. Stephen Davis came back and scored later in the first quarter, and bot h teams were tied 7-7 into the 2nd. Stephen Davis got another rushing touchdown, but Marc Bulger answered back with a pass to Marshall Faulk in the flat for a 3 yard touchdown. The big play on D for Carolina was Will Witherspoon's 29 yard interception touchdown return. The game was out of reach but that didn't stop Steven Jackson who broke through the Panthers defense for 59 yards and his second touchdown of the game.
