I believe my defense will do alright.

Brian's giving me the play-by-play over AIM...

    DeSean Jackson = beast.

      California vs. #19 Texas A&M

      December 30, 2005

McNeal goes out as a legend; Aggies steamroll Bears 66-17

HOUSTON, TX--You couldn't have written a better ending.

In his first game back since tearing a shoulder muscle in midseason, and in his final game as an Aggie, Reggie McNeal had one of the best bowl performances ever, accounting for 439 total yards of offense and seven touchdowns, as Texas A&M destroyed California in the EV1.net Houston Bowl, 66-17.

The senior QB led A&M's rushing attack with 216 yards and 4 TDs. Courtney Lewis added 167 and 2 TDs (along with 123 receiving and 2 more scores), as the Aggies ran for 431 yards, while the defense killed Joseph Ayoob all day, and held Marshawn Lynch to 7 yards on 15 carries. Cal was held to -9 yards net rushing, and the Aggies outgained them in total yards 654-257 and first downs 26-9.

"Absolutely beautiful performance...I could not be prouder of our guys. You really have to give it up for Reggie McNeal. To face such disappointment with the injury in a season that looked so promising, he really left it all out there. God bless him." -Head Coach Brian Kudron.

"We were perfect today, as I expected. Nearly ten yards a carry, over 600 yards of offense...Reggie didn't miss a beat in his first game back...I just wish things could've been easier for him this year, he was really torn up after the injury, and the losses near the end to OU and Texas really made him mad. But I couldn't ask for a better way to end the season." -Offensive Coordinator Tyler Coleman.

"Coming into this game a lot of people were saying that Marshawn Lynch would run all over us...what, he had 7 yards? They had how many yards as a team?...I'm sorry, how many? HOW MANY YARDS DID THEY HAVE!?!?!?!? OH, -9!...Yeah, I thought so. Mad props to our seniors like Jaxson Appel and Renuel Greene, awesome way to go out." -Defensive Coordinator John Woodlock.

              Stunner: Aggies FIRE Kudron
A&M cites "lack of accomplishments" and "personal misconduct"

COLLEGE STATION, TX--And just when it seemed like Florida getting into the Rose Bowl over Texas was the biggest outrage of the college football year, this happens.

A week after beating California 66-17 in the Houston Bowl and completing his first season 8-4, Brian Kudron was terminated as Texas A&M head coach effective immediately.

Athletic Director Bill Byrne cited "lack of accomplishments" and "personal misconduct" as reason for the firing.

"The termination of Coach Kudron was the hardest decision I have ever made...the goals I have set for this team are lofty, and they were not accomplished this year, and based on what I saw from the team this year, I just did not see us advancing much under his supervision."

Along with that, rumors surfaced only a couple day after the Houston Bowl about Coach Kudron acting very unprofessional at times during the season. Some of the rumors include him looking the other way on academic and personal violations on the team, and several players reported that during the week leading up to the Iowa State game (a 52-31 loss), Coach Kudron showed up intoxicated to practice.

Despite these allegations, Coach Kudron has reportedly already received several phone calls from Athletic Directors across the nation, and the coach may not be unemployed for long.

"I don't understand where the rumors came from...but if Mr. Byrne doesn't feel like I'm the coach for this team, then so be it...I'd like to thank him for giving me the chance, and I'd also like to thank the players. We didn't spend much time together, but I loved this season, and I hope the players appreciate everything I tried to do for them," the obviously distraught coach said in a statement.
